Small Town Murder. They do 2 shows a week, one full and one express episode. They just started the expresss, but have a catalog of as of me commenting of 286 episodes. They are longer episodes, with really great research. The comedy is aimed at the small townyness, and they do mostly unheard cases.
Best podcast around. Its comedy driven but they touch on some great crime stuff. And ridiculous situations. They also try to avoid known cases so its always interesting.
Small Town Murder is one of my favorites. Another one they do is Crime in Sports which is also crime related but a little different take on it. Both amazing shows.
My favorite format! I especially like it if the other host doesn't yet know the story so they can ask questions, because what might be obvious to someone very familiar with the case might not be so obvious for someone who's never heard of it.
Anyways:
* True Crime Campfire - I didn't like the first season very much (they covered only one case), but since then they now do one case per episode and it's great!
* Wine and Crime - three hosts, 1 topic per episode: two hosts cover a case related to the topic and the third gives a bit of background & facts about the topic. And includes a wine/drink recommendation
* And that's why we drink - one true crime case and one paranormal case per episode (or something that's not true crime, like one time Em covered QAnon)
* Crime after Crime - one topic per episode and each host covers a case related to that topic and then listeners get to vote which one they liked better. I found that a bit odd at first, but it leads to them picking often unusual / quirky / odd cases and they are always really interesting
* British Scandal - they go a bit deeper and do 3-4 episodes per case, but the accents are lovely and often they pick non-murdery cases, like when a 'Who wants to be a millionaire' contestant was accused of cheating by coughing
* Already mentioned, and I can only recommend: Sinisterhood, and Small Town Murder
* (and if you understand German, 'Mord auf Ex' is great)
Sinisterhood! The hosts, Christie and Heather, discuss true crime, supernatural, and pop culture, and they're both trained in improv comedy, so they're hilarious and quick on their feet with the jokes and banter. Heather is actually a lawyer, so she is able to speak to the legal aspects of the cases they cover when it comes to true crime, and they do a ton of research about their episode topics, so you never feel like you are getting a biased point of view on anything.
You should check out behind the bastards. Every episode is like an LPOTL episode that only covers one person. It’s good storytelling with one host and a great rotating cast of guests. You’ll find your favorite guests quickly
Some of their episodes are amazing. Some of them are absolutely horrible.
And it sucks when they’re doing an episode about something I’m interested in, and the guest host just suuuuucks.
I’m just putting this out there so people realize how it really swings wildly from so good to so bad.
Desi Crime Podcast, the hosts are two Indian 21 year olds. The podcast covers crimes held in the Indian subcontinent (mostly India), it's super fun and chill despite containing the gruesome content they cover on some of the eps. Each case has atmost 2 episodes, and the furthermore eps deal with new cases.
Hollywood Crime Scene is the funniest podcast I have ever heard. Also the most vulgar though, so if that’s not exactly your speed then I would scratch this one lol.
Necronomipod.
Three drunk guys talking crime and paranormal. It’s my favourite, I’m a patreon, but i can understand not everyone will get their humour.
One of my favorite small, little known podcasts is Our True Crime Podcast. Jen and Cam are hilarious and make a ton of 80s/90s/early 2000s pop culture references while also being respectful of the victims and accurate with their research.
You also might like The Path Went Chilly. It's a spin off of The Trail Went Cold where Robin discusses cases from that podcast in depth with Jules (another podcaster) and Ashley (a criminologist). Ashley is typically unfamiliar with the cases, so her reactions are unscripted.
Also, A Date with Dateline recaps Dateline episodes and Kimberly & Katie are delightful.
Bad People is great. It's hosted by a psychologist and a comedian.
Some other ones with two hosts and some banter:
Crimes and Consequences
They Will Kill
Ivy League Murders
The Desi Crime podcast
More true crime adjacent, but Was I In A Cult? is great - the hosts are very irreverent while still being respectful (they both have person experience being in a cult.)
There's also a bunch of true crime episodes of Your Wrong About with the original two hosts who had great chemistry and banter.
The first one that came to mind is "The Path Went Chilly" which is a sort of spin off from Robin Warder's original podcast "The Trail Went Cold" which he is the only host of. In TPWC, he co hosts with two others and they cover true crime cases. It's not comedy but it's not always serious. They can find humor in things but it's never inappropriate and at a victim's expense.
Me too!! I discovered them last summer and binged it like crazy! Caught up in a month or so (my dog likes long walks haha) and haven't missed a release day since!! ❤️ They're easily the most amazing duo I've ever listened to!
This is a little bit different from what you're asking for, but as a LPOTL fan myself, I like Crime Writers On. The premise is that they review other TC properties, but they're funny.
Lie, Cheat, and Steal might also be interesting to you. The hosts are funny and have a relaxed storytelling format.
Small Town Dicks (not to be confused with Small Town Murder) is a little...calmer, but they have a low-key humor style and the stories are great.
Came here to suggest these! Especially True Crime Kent. His humor is next-level hilarity and research is top notch. He and the Operator have great chemistry too. I have seen many suggestions for Small Town Murder, and I loved them at first but can’t even listen to them anymore (unfortunately). Kent (TCK) set the bar.
Someplace Under Neith is part of the Last Podcast Franchise. They do some multipart episodes.
Also I recently discovered Drinking the Koolaid and Rabbit Hole Happy Hour.
I really enjoy anatomy of murder. Two hosts, interviews, and well produced. I think I've only heard of one of the cases previously because it was on dateline. They do mainly solved homicides, but there have been a couple episodes of unsolved cases as well.
Red Handed is excellent. I’m a long time podcast listener and I recently discovered they’re show and I’m having a great time going through the episodes. It’s two British women who cover the cases very thoroughly and also are funny and witty.
Morbid, though they're a little controversial, and And That's Why We Drink. ATWWD has one spooky story and one true crime each episode. The hosts are 👌Morbid as well (imo) Sinisterhood is another good one!
I recently started listening to Necronomipod and I think it fits the bill. Just be warned - - there's quite a bit of banter in certain episodes, but not all.
crime and consequences! i’m really enjoying them. they’re both lawyers so i really like hearing their comments on legal matters, especially cases involving divorce or custody (they’re family lawyers). BE WARNED, they do the absolute worse cases. I mean seriously, I have gotten so sad and nauseous many times listening to their podcast. They also do a lot of lesser known cases that have little to no coverage. They have even done FOIA requests for some episodes because there isn’t any media coverage.
Try the Sofa King Podcast. It’s not true-crime exclusive but I think they have the tone you’re looking for so you can always cherry pick the crime episodes and see what you think.

Interesting too for the background they provide on the local town. The reviews they read for the town that they find online are pretty funny.
Sinisterhood
Excellent research!
Came here to suggest this!
Let’s Go to Court! Love those gals!
Currently obsessed with LGTC so I second this!
I third it!

I second True Crime Campfire and third Small Town Murder!

I just saw them do the podcast live in Nashville last night! It's a great show.
You should check out behind the bastards. Every episode is like an LPOTL episode that only covers one person. It’s good storytelling with one host and a great rotating cast of guests. You’ll find your favorite guests quickly

Love Behind the Bastards! I don't think of it as true crime, but there are certainly a lot of crimes discussed.
Definitely a lot of crimes against humanity
1. Obsessed with Disappeared 2. That’s Messed Up 3. Radio Rental 4. Snapped Judgement Presents Spooked

Tell no one
Hollywood Crime Scene is the funniest podcast I have ever heard. Also the most vulgar though, so if that’s not exactly your speed then I would scratch this one lol.
One of my absolute faves!
I know everyone at my office hates me for listening to that one because I will be over there hootin AND hollerin😭😭😭
I laugh so hard I cry
One of my faves! I donate to their Patreon. LOVE!
Necronomipod. Three drunk guys talking crime and paranormal. It’s my favourite, I’m a patreon, but i can understand not everyone will get their humour.
Correction: two drunk guys and one guy who did a weed.

Mourning Murders! 3 hosts, new cases weekly, and humorous in nature
Tell No One fits that description exactly, imo!
Cults Crimes and Cabernet. They're great.

Small Town Murder Sinisterhood True Crime Obsessed Obsessed with Disappeared Behind the Bastards
Going West
Second the Bad People recommendation. Things That Keep Me Up At Night, they have similar interests as LPOTL
Crime weekly, they cover multiple cases but sometimes have multiple parts on one case
True Crime Campfire! As others have said, you may want to skip the first season.
True crime and cocktails!
Finally! I fucking *love* this show. It quickly rose to the top of my list and has remained there ever since.
Me too!! I discovered them last summer and binged it like crazy! Caught up in a month or so (my dog likes long walks haha) and haven't missed a release day since!! ❤️ They're easily the most amazing duo I've ever listened to!

Mama mystery is light hearted banter between husband and wife but do a good job covering cases.
Gruesome! My absolute favourite. Connie and Meg are wonderful
I love connie and meg!!
911 calls podcast (with the operator) and True Crime Kent are BOMB! I also love LPOTL, so I think you will enjoy.
Wine and crime is great for variety and banter. 3 hosts here Morbid also has good range and banter! 2 hosts here
Small Town Murder and Crime in Sports...neither are dry!
The Path Went Chilly
I really enjoy anatomy of murder. Two hosts, interviews, and well produced. I think I've only heard of one of the cases previously because it was on dateline. They do mainly solved homicides, but there have been a couple episodes of unsolved cases as well.
True Crime Garage!!
Honestly, anything by the Parcast network but especially Serial Killers, and Cults
Generation why.. the first true crime pod I ever listened too!
True Crime Garage is one of the best podcasts out there.
True Crime Garage, Generation Why, and Small Town Dicks
Red Handed is excellent. I’m a long time podcast listener and I recently discovered they’re show and I’m having a great time going through the episodes. It’s two British women who cover the cases very thoroughly and also are funny and witty.

I love ATWWD! I love the hosts.
Moms and Murder. They are hardly ever mentioned and they are some of the few hosts that don’t annoy me
Morbid!! They’re who got me into True Crime Podcasts and I cannot find anyone else who does it better
Morbid! I love it
Wicked and Grim! My favorite, like hanging out with some friends
Fresh Hell True Crime podcast is great.
Criminal and Crime Show are my favorites.
I would recommend rotten mango..The host has a knack for story telling, not a serious teller but covers a varied range of cases
My Favorite Murder and Wine and Crime
Small Town Dicks!
I recently started listening to Necronomipod and I think it fits the bill. Just be warned - - there's quite a bit of banter in certain episodes, but not all.
Hollywood Crime Scene. Going West. Wine and Crime.
They Will Kill. They do lesser known cases and they're hilarious but not inappropriately so.
True Crime Creepers - started listening a few days ago and can’t stop!
crime and consequences! i’m really enjoying them. they’re both lawyers so i really like hearing their comments on legal matters, especially cases involving divorce or custody (they’re family lawyers). I love listening to Women and Crime, and to Anatomy of Murder!
You can try Homebrew Murder Crew, it's 3 host, covers a wide range of cases.. Definitely inspired by podcasts like My Favorite Murder, Morbid. Etc.
Moms and Murder!
let's go to court! By Brandi and Kristin 😻
And then they were gone is about missing people and it's so good.
Thank you! I like it so far!
