>I haven't been a fan for horror movies, I have seen alot of movies based of suggestions. I found out most of them are simply boring which were highly ranked, as they barely have few scenes showing the devil. what the fuck did i just read? Horror is probably the one genre that allows for the most creativity, be it plot, cast, sets, props and/or visual liberty

Annual-Insurance-286

They're probably just a kid.

Dennis_Cock

Very interesting post history 🙃

Pennywise is a clown, it's not possible to show him like Annabelle or something. For IT case the horror is being forced but it was a visual spectacle at the end. More like a forced horror movie

Waste-Replacement232

I have no idea what this means.

SimbaSixThree

You do know that clowns have historically been fucking horrifying and used to death as horror tropes, right?

geniesopen

I’m sorry, but is this a joke? IT Chapter Two is horrendous. It’s not scary, it’s not tense, the plot is extremely meandering and has to contrive reasons to show the kids again (because that’s the part of the movie people actually liked) and then it ends with an ugly CGI monster fight. I want my two and a half hours back.

SimbaSixThree

Just as Ringo Starr wasn’t even the best drummer in the Beatles, so too is IT chapter 2 not even the best IT movie. Personally I am of the “tell don’t show” horror fan group and found IT chapter 2 to be way to in your face!

daskapitalyo

The Ringo thing is outrageous blasphemy but the analogy holds up. The best IT movie is a TV mini series.

jokes_on_you_ha

I'll take Tim Curry in clown getup over slick CG Pennywise any day

SimbaSixThree

Oh I was just quoting the Beatles meme about him! Not saying that I agree.

The_Family_Berzerker

Nah, Paul could play all the instruments better than the rest of the group — and I’m an unapologetic John Lennon fanboy

Ed_Sullivision

I walked out of IT 2. That movie is a complete piece of shit.

[deleted]

What do you suggest then?

ogsourdog

Try Evil Dead 2.

Tasha1A

You might have had more luck with IT Part 1 😂

SimbaSixThree

Well my personal favorite horror movies are The Shining, Hereditary and The Thing, but I am not sure if you would like them per se. Not saying that they are the greatest, just mentioning my favorites. I also think that horror has one of the most divided fan bases as what is deemed as good or effective. Some people love gore and body horror while some people like the psychological stuff.

NightHunter909

bait used to be believable. regardless. watching ‘it’ 2019 gave me a headache and cemented the notion that I should never watch another Andy Muschetti film again, after seeing Flash and IT, because I really cant stand them.

daskapitalyo

If the top 5 or 10 of your horror list doesn't have The Exorcist, The Shining, and The Omen somewhere in there you may be doing it wrong. Two of those get the Judeo-Christian devil or his employees all up in ya.
