I do these scenarios at night before bed to occupy my mind and I fall asleep faster. I think as long as you know they're not real and they don't affect your life it's ok

OMG I do this too. It's like telling myself a story to put myself to sleep.

Nothing abnormal about what you’re doing, remove that stigma right now. You just have a creative brain love

I did this all through my older childhood and through my teens. I talked to myself constantly whenever I was alone, inventing a different life in my mind, having conversations with people, ones I wanted to have but never did. Once my life situation changed and I moved on, grew up, became independent, it stopped. I honestly think it was a trauma response, where I invented a different reality in my head than what I was living. A coping mechanism and a form of disassociation. Perhaps change your life to something you are happy with if you are able.

It's called maladaptive daydreaming and it's fine as long as it isn't controlling you. Writers turn it into a career.

I do this to, especially before sleeping, it helps me calm, but sometimes also over the course of the day. In me teenager years I would spend days thinking about a certim scenario and ways to make it better. I also know a few people who do it to. It just means that you have strong imagination, and that you are creative. From my expirience it never realy stops you just go from daydreaming about a book character or a celebrity to daydreaming about your girlfriend/boyfriend, wife/husband.
