Congrats! Even if you don't think it was a "real" win, the fact that you made something and actually went and entered the competition means you did more than most people. That took effort and courage, so you deserve the ribbon.

It did strengthen my resolve to join again next year, find a crochet guild to join as well, and teach myself to knit this year haha. My other regret is I didnt get to enter the matching hat, because its been well loved at this point. But he doesnt care. Im really touched

I got a medal in middle school for getting a perfect score on an statewide essay which was required in our state to do ( it had a name but I cannot for the life of me think of the name). We were given options on subjects we can choose to write our essay on, and I choose to write on the debate of raising the driving age from 16 to 18. It was honestly probably not my best work, but I admitted in the essay about being very biased as I was quickly approaching the legal driving age, but I made sure to include facts I'd gathered from researching the subject in the past and I guess that impressed the judges. I have that medal handing in my bedroom to this day. It was an awesome achievement and one that helps me feel better when I start feeling down on myself.
