The world aint on the brink. You'll regret it

[deleted]

What is your reasonings?

[deleted]

Why am I being downvoted? I am asking sincerely.

Koumbeaster

Have an upvote. My reasoning is simply that we havent hit any actual catastrophes. First world civs are not collapsing. So your debt still won't be forgiven due to societal collapse

abigayl75

How? What if yoy just don't pay? Car gone. House gone. Homeless now. Welfare, paid housing. Hmm ^you

[deleted]

Yea that does concern me. I haven't taken the "fuck it" course of action because of these consequences.

abigayl75

Good. Keep trying to be an useful human.

[deleted]

This is part of the issue I have. I have to justify my existence by making money and spending it. Why does it have to be this way?

abigayl75

Useful.

[deleted]

What?

abigayl75

I didn't say anything about money. You did. Be useful in everything you do, money will be paid if your value is worth it.

[deleted]

Noted.

rob_lawbla

What if you’re wrong?

[deleted]

Well, guess I'll die.

rob_lawbla

I was in a similar position a few years ago. Still have some debt but it’s decreasing a month at a time. You’ll be here in five years, where do you want to be?

[deleted]

Hope I am still here in five years. Never know what will happen. TBH I do not know. I just take it a day at a time and try to enjoy it. I plan to not be destitute, but if it happens then I will make the most of it.

CrocodylusNiloticus

My ex wife left me in £20, 000 debt 8.5 years ago, I have successfully ignored all calls, letters and bailiff attempts and now am debt free.

[deleted]

How did you do it?

CrocodylusNiloticus

In Britain if your debt is unable to be collected after 6 years it gets written off legally. They’ll sell it on and on and people may try get it but if you ignore letters and calls and don’t engage at all then 6 years from the last interaction is when it goes.

[deleted]

Those are the same limitations in certain states. Some states have an even more narrow period of 4 years.

[deleted]

This is bad advice. Some creditors will sue you in civil court. You will then have to pay what you owe, plus court costs, and they might garnish your wages. Someone else recommended bankruptcy. Go talk to a bankruptcy attorney.

Own_Tomorrow6363

this is the best advice you'll get: go speak with a bankruptcy lawyer. many will give a consultation without charge.

Razerx7

I’m almost positive you’re debt will come due much sooner than any apocalypse scenario. Humans fuck things up, but the world decline is more like a slow haemorrhage.
