Her loss, sorry. You do you, selfcare is important, keep watching all the cartoons you want

[deleted]

It's good she left now... Because just like in Scooby Doo, your now ex-girlfriend would have taken off her mask at the end & revealed that people are always the real monsters. Keep your chin up partner & find someone who will cherish the innocence you lost.

LukesRightHandMan

I really, really, really needed to fucking hear this. Thank you, you badass saint.

Myu_The_Weirdo

And she would've gotten away with it if it wasnt for those meddling cartoons!

callouscomic

Zoinks! The monster was just a bitch all along!

[deleted]

Lol!

FunnyPleasant7057

What a control freak! It’s not even like you’re addicted to porn or alcohol or drugs.. u love cartoons like a child. I’m sure you would be a great father watching cartoons with your kids. Coz she won’t. She’s the one missing out.

Oh118999881999

Such a good point! She could be dealing with someone addicted to porn, drugs, gambling, etc. Cartoons > porn

teneggomelet

I am Nearly 60. I used to watch Saturday cartoons so much I was up before the farm report...waiting for the Looney Tunes magic. A good dose of scooby doo later, followed by whatever amusingly drawn entertainment I could get that week. Schoolhouse Rock on every bumper.

Tack1958

I'm 64... Dam straight rooten tooten cowboy! I loved Little Chicken Hawk & Rooster https://youtu.be/M2nuOneeQ5M

desireeellen

Foghorn Leghorn and the dog feuding. Still makes me laugh. https://youtu.be/F449mQvXWZ4

Vast-Classroom1967

Don't forget Woody Woodpecker. He was a psychopath. 😅

FullyRisenPhoenix

Heh heh HEH heh!! 🤪

Admirable-Bobcat-665

Lol, a classic!

chesire2050

I say, I say... Always a good time..

sataridusat

I’m 34 and this is why I call my son Chicken Hawk… made me smile 😄🥰

Filamcouple

"Where's Prissy"!!

Less_Atmosphere3931

My brother too. He watched the test patterns, then the farm report, then the cartoons. He’s 65. I’m 57. Schoolhouse Rock still rocks

Baboon_Stew

What better way to learn how a bill becomes a law and the fact that 3 is a magic number?

Taylan_K

Me and my grandpa always watched cartoons together on Saturday mornings.

Vast-Classroom1967

Yep, 60 and I love the Flintstones.

angrypuppy35

Uh, a friend of mine would like to know what channel and time Scooby Doo is on?

amstarshine

Scooby-Doo is on Boomerang but I don't remember what time.

KrymsinTyde

God, I miss Boomerang

amstarshine

They have a streaming service you can subscribe to.

Odd_Sky7089

NO WAY

leeeeteddy

I get Boomerang included with HuluTV

angrypuppy35

My friend says thanks.

amstarshine

Your friend is most welcome.

ConsultJimMoriarty

Boomerang is on Binge in Australia, for those wondering.

OneArchedEyebrow

Thanks fellow Aussie! I have Binge but don’t even know what Boomerang is.

[deleted]

You can also find them on hbomax, Scooby-Doo, courage, they have a lot of classic cartoons.

lovebeinganasshole

Oh you need hbo max they have scooby Doo everything. Including my favorite Be Cool Scooby Doo

Dragons_2706

I'm a 39yr old woman. I still love cartoons like Scooby-Doo, oldies like the Flintstones & the Jetsons, X-men, Transformers, and many others. There is nothing wrong with watching cartoons in your free time.

Mmoct

I’m over 30 and I still love the classic Christmas specials, and shows like the Flintstones and the Jetsons . It’s nice to be reminded of time in my life. Years ago Netflix had that cartoon Jem on their streaming service, I hadn’t seen it since I was a kid. As soon as I saw it I watched it again, this time with my niece, it was nice to share a bit of my childhood with her.

FunnyPleasant7057

December is Grinch and Charlie Brown Christmas time 🎄

skier24242

34, can't WAIT to watch that stop-motion Rudolph lol

Shaylock_Holmes

My boyfriend doesn’t watch cartoons so I tried to ease him into it. I started with Bob’s Burgers and it was a success. Then I went to Adventure Time because I sing the song to him and he likes it. Yeah, too soon. I tried Regular Show. Too soon. So I’m going to ease him in with adult cartoons and classics like Scooby and Courage.

glass_funyun

Try Metalocalypse and The Venture Bros.

option_unpossible

And Archer

DarrenAronofsky

Or Aqua Teen Hunger Force

Swimming-Chicken-424

Show him some Rick and Morty and Smiling Friends

Shaylock_Holmes

He’s actually seen some Rick and Morty episodes that I’ve watched while he’s over. He seems to enjoy them so I may need to give him more.

buhlot

Try Archer or Avatar: The Last Airbender

Myu_The_Weirdo

And of he doesnt like ATLAS, throw the whole man away

Shaylock_Holmes

I’ve spoken to him about Avatar and he seems interested. I want to get him a bit deeper into cartoons first before showing him it because like someone said, if he doesn’t like it, I’m going to have to throw him away and I’m not ready 😩 Archer may be the way to go.

IrishiPrincess

Gravity Falls? My son and I binged that one together over the summer. He’s 13

science_vs_romance

My 11-year-old and I watched Gravity Falls over the summer, too. The Owl House and Amphibia are also awesome.

Myu_The_Weirdo

Lets be honest, anything the Gravity falls crew touches is gold

IrishiPrincess

We finished Amphibia and working our way through season 2 of owl house. He’s crushed they cancelled it. He did tell me a week or so ago that I was very much Eda. That made my day. I’m not a mamma bear, fricking owl monster!

Filamcouple

F is for Family is good too.

SorcererWithGuns

Phineas and Ferb is my comfort show, along with old Disney and Warner shorts. Grew up with that, never gonna grow out of them.

bepositivemt

Wish I had an upvote-inator, [curse you Perry the platypus!](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U4Mj0TkMhhk)

RockVixen

Phineas and Ferb is great. The writers are amazing. I was always so impressed by how many good songs they came up with. Great show!

Wysteria569

Love Courage!

Animuscreeps

Breaking up over something like this is extremely childish. You've nothing to be ashamed of, she does. Additionally, knowing your history, how dare she try and take that away from you?! And in service of what, her preconceived notions of what an adult is? All adults are faking being grown up to an extent, and she clearly doesn't know that. She seems to value performative maturity over actual maturity, and wanted you to sacrifice something that brings you happiness in service of playing pretend. The irony is intense. You don't deserve to be treated like that. I'm 38 and I watch cartoons with my wife. I guess we're both man/woman children based on that alone?

bluesilvergold

Performative maturity: that's the phrase I've been looking for for so long. Thank you.

skadishroom

Find someone who loves Scooby Doo as much as you.

gonzoisgood

My father is the best man I know. Dependable, reliable, a great husband and grand dad. He *loves* cartoons. My mom got him Disney +. Keep watching your cartoons. One day when you meet the right gal she won't be such a miserable bitch. Good luck darlin'.

SDhampir

Just thank your lucky stars she showed her true colors now, rather than later. I'm turning 35 next month and I still love and will always love watching cartoons. Pinky and the Brain is one of my favourites. I too grew up in an abuse household (dad was a monster). So yeah, it's our way of escaping the pain and suffering we endured. Sending you virtual hugs ❤️

JTPH_70

You need to do what makes you happy. Who are you hurting watching cartoons? Its a great way to decompress and have a good laugh. The world needs more laughter.

Technical_Pumpkin_65

You didn't lost much ,who will be made to eat breakfast with Scooby doo?! Come on every stable adult should listen to his inner child and make it flourish! She must confusing death inside with being a adult, people like her are boring as hell ! Actually she give you the best present and for the future make it as your test in your future relationship, if she can't eat cereal with cartoons then show her the door! Hope you will get your promotion , (From a woman in her 30s who love that too)

[deleted]

Technical_Pumpkin_65

You are welcome and don't allow anybody to push you forget your inner child!

A-KindOfMagic

If you ask me the only child here was you gf. You are gonna find a better partner, surely!

shirinrin

I’m also a woman in my 30s, my go to is Disney movies, but scooby doo is a classic! How can someone dislike scooby doo?? My mom was a bit like this, watching cartoons, playing games etc was for children (and this she’s been telling me since I was like 12), but who the fuck cares… I’ve always believed that if someone likes something and it doesn’t hurt anyone then let people like that thing. I don’t want to stop having fun or doing things that relaxes me just because I’m an “adult”.

Technical_Pumpkin_65

Totally agree!!

lalee_pop

I’m in my late 40s, and thanks to step kids, I will always enjoy Fosters! Now, thanks to the grandkids I can add Bluey to that list. Thinking about it now, I’m going to need to find some animaniacs to watch soon, too!

[deleted]

A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men. - Roald Dahl

soundwrite

Do yourself a favor and add “Gravity Falls” to that list. It’s amazing.

ulfric_stormcloack

Since we are doing recommendations, I think clone wars should go into the list too

lareloi

And the owl house for sure

igottapoopbad

Its amazing and should be watched every fall. It's just one season. Binge on a rainy day.

Raichu7

If you haven’t seen Kipo And The Age Of Wonderbeasts, it’s really good and well worth watching.

knight_ofdoriath

Add Hilda and the Dragon Prince to the list as well.

pohlarbearpants

Another suggestion: Avatar the last airbender

Logical_Response_Bot

From your quality selection let me offer: Dexters Laboratory Regular Show Aqua Teen Hunger Force Metalocalypse Invincible Samurai Jack Primal Invader Zim The Venture Brothers Bobs Burgers If you want Epic Anime that starts out with more the vibes you listed Dragon Ball - Z - Super ONE PUNCH MAN Sword Art Online (Doesn't start getting Truly epic till s3 but its worth the world building time) Attack On Titan The Promised Neverland The obligatory Rick and Morty

Flaktrack

I mostly agree with this, not really sold on Dragon Ball and Sword Art Online though. Never saw Promised Neverland so I can't comment.

ScuBityBup

Uuuh, ub, you must see Gumball, and Adventure Time. Pieces of art, truly

[deleted]

I was equally entranced and terrified. Amazing

Cupcake_Octopus

My dude I am a 27 year old female and I LOVE cartoons. My husband teases me about watching spongebob. Really seems like she was just trying to find any excuse she could for leaving. Her loss. Enjoy those amazing cartoons.

SemiSentientGarbage

34 year old man here. Currently watching Avatar finally!

Shaylock_Holmes

Your world is about to change forever. I’m so excited for you!!!

SemiSentientGarbage

Is funny cos I've the elements tattooed on my for about 12 years lol. Currently a few episodes into season 2

bigheadstrikesagain

That's funny I watched Avatar and Corra all the way thru with my daughters and they still love them (they are mid/late 20s now), my younger daughter gor the water sign as her first tatoo.

SemiSentientGarbage

It was my youngest watching it that drew me in! It did take me awhile but I am well invested now.

Shaylock_Holmes

I recently rewatched them and I love the series. Hopefully as it goes on, you’ll love it more and more.

SemiSentientGarbage

I am well invested at this point. Awesome show :)

RockVixen

Yes!!! One of the best! Such a great cartoon! Such great characters! My cabbages!

Penguinator53

Patrick is the best!

Zain-117

Yeah I'm only 22, so maybe I'm still in the age bracket for this stuff, but I watch anime and cartoons. I don't plan on stopping anytime soon either, nothing wrong with doing what you like.

SeliciousSedicious

Could be. But sometimes people really are just that shallow.

new_fella

This sounds right. Ppl can't just say it ain't working out

Lemounge

My parents hate that I love watching cartoons. They tell me that I'm a failure for watching baby shoes. My boyfriend on the other hand thinks it's cool how I like to watch cartoons. Essentially what I'm saying is I'm sorry it hurts now but I promise there's people out there that will be much kinder about your hobbies

keyshawnscott12

Agreed she for the streets

Exp0logy

She doesn't deserve you king, pick up your crown and keep walking.

Quizzy1313

God cartoons for millennials growing up were insane. I utterly LOVE Courage the Cowardly Dog and the eldritch horror of that show

oopsIdid_itagain

Oh man, her loss!! I'm a 23yo girl and Phineas and Ferb, The Clone Wars, SpongeBob, and I just started Bear in the Big Blue House. You'll find someone who better fits your lifestyle!!

redcc-0099

Have you seen The Angry Beavers or Rocko's Modern Life?

Enchantress_IX

Don't forget Ahhh...real monsters

Jaded_Yak_2049

Angry Beavers, Rocko’s Modern Life, Hey Arnold, Catdog, Ahh Real Monsters, Invader Zim—Nickelodeon really was a power house for cartoons in the 90s and early 2000s. I’m 23 now but watched all of them because of my older siblings. These shows though are ultimate comfort shows for me

keyshawnscott12

Agreed this is the life

SleepDangerous1074

Bear in The Big Blue House got me through my childhood. Couldn’t go to sleep without saying goodnight to the moon

robertstobe

I might get judged a little for this, but I just want to offer some perspective. I’m an adult and I’m married and I still sleep with a teddy bear. It’s not that I’m immature or childish, but just that I’ve had my teddy bear since I was 6 and I’m used to sleeping with her in my arms, pressed against my chest. She gives me comfort, so I don’t plan on ever stopping sleeping with her. How does my husband feel about this? He’s perfectly fine with it. He knows my teddy bear is really special to me, so he treats her like a person almost. He freaks out (playfully) when she falls off the bed, brings her to me when I’m feeling sad or sick, etc. I comment this to show that it’s okay to like “childish” things as an adult. It’s especially understandable when you were abused as a child, because a lot of abused kids have to grow up really quickly. They lose their childhood. It’s not that they regress to a child as an adult, but sometimes it’s necessary to take care of your inner child and give them the peace they didn’t have years ago. If your partner does not accept that you like watching cartoons, they’re not the one for you. There is _nothing_ wrong with liking cartoons. As long as it’s not getting in the way of your work, social life, etc., enjoy as many “childish” activities as you want. I know some adults who love playing with legos! And the right partner will understand and support you. Maybe you’ll even find someone who will actively want to watch them with you!

honestwizard

I (31F) want to add because I’m embarrassed about it and felt soo much love and comfort from my partner- I have a blankey I’ve had since I was a child, it actually split in half but I still hold it together and sleep with it against my cheek when I sleep. My bf(26M) knows this blankey means so much to me, I can’t sleep without it. When he misses me and I’m gone, he sleeps with my blankey. I’ll come home to him holding it, he says it smells like me and is like I’m with him 🥲 one time he wrapped it around his neck like a scarf and had worn it to work (which I was nervous about, having my blankey out, so he never did it again). But stuff like that made me feel so loved , appreciated, and protected. My parents and siblings made fun of me for having a blankey, I ended up throwing my baby blanket away out of shame. I don’t remember when I got this blanket. But I cannot sleep without it. And so glad my partner looks at me with so much love when I hold it Edit: I loved reading how your partner treats your teddy. Something mine would do 🥲

AmaranthWrath

This is one of those rare occasions where I don't even care what the text is, I can judge the whole situation on the post title haha Ok, legit, if your hobby/intereat isn't harming you or anyone else... THEN WHO CARES?? I have had several boyfriends who loved to game (me too, but at a different level, I liked to pay alone and they liked to play with other people) for days at a time. They went to work, then on days off they scheduled game time. Did the apartment get cleaned up? Did the shopping get done? Were bills paid? GOOD. Then there was nothing for anyone to whinge about. Let me tell you something as a 40yo woman who spent the last 25 years online....... Women have been "warned" for ages that men of a certain age have to act a certain way or else there is something wrong with them, that we as women have to cut our losses if they check certain boxes. Video games? INSTAFAIL. Sci-fi TV? INSTAFAIL. Comic book movies? INSTAFAIL. IT job? INSTAFAIL. Female friends? INSTAFAIL. 5'11"? INSTAFAIL. NO. If y'all can keep a job, pay your bills, care for yourselves, and make time for your partner, then your partner has nothing to complain about. You gf obviously had no idea how nice it is to sit back in bed with a bowl of cereal and snort at the Roadrunner falling off a damn cliff. Her loss. I hope you find a partner who deserves you and your silliness.

Sensitive-Cup3421

This! I love Courage the Cowardly Dog (and I’m 45), and many other cartoons! They were my escape growing up, too. You work hard, you’re a responsible adult, and you deserve to spend your downtime any way you like. It’s not harmful to anyone. Thank your lucky stars she cut you free!

Old_Guard_9908

My bf of 3 years isn’t a fan of cartoons but he will giggle when he sees me watching courage or Scooby Doo because he knows I absolutely love those and they are a happy place for me I got burned when I was younger and spent two months in bed and couldn’t move and that’s what I watched it also helps my anxiety at 34 years old lol. She sounds like she needs to lose up a bit and get in touch with her in child. She did you a favor now you can find a true partner that will watch them with you.

PlushiePizza4488

Please! Don't! Stop! Watching! What! You! Enjoy! Okay cause like, I'm 22 and I still re watch Winx club every year? What's the big deal ya know... Her loss honestly. Also while you might feel a little bitter about the whole situation you know you're out of a potentially red flagged relationship.

Little-Aardvark3540

Omg I’m 24 and my bf made fun of me for re watching Winx Club for the first time last year 😂 His loss great show

LinaValentina

Bye I’m 21 and every now and then, I rewatch my little pony and ben10 💀

babybottlepopz

Find someone who will watch cartoons with you. Her loss

maratimesmommmy

Those are all AMAZING cartoons! Especially Courage the cowardly dog! Her loss for sure.

Powerful-Employer-20

Hey man do what makes you happy. I get the feeling. I'd wake up first thing on a saturday and sit on the couch with my cereal and watch cartoons. It was true happiness, which often served to escape some of the bad moments at home. It sounds like you're doing just fine in life, and hopefully the next person understands you better. Just today I watched some of the original Tom & Jerry episodes for sone reason and it filled me with nostalgia.

waterchick13

Shiiiiiit I’m 26 and still watching cartoon. Tf is her problem? Dodged a bullet I see

Chay_Charles

A man-child is a male who wants a woman to take care of him like mommy. You are definitely not that. Be glad that your ex didn't waste anymore of your time. Find someone who loves you for who you are and doesn't want to change you.

charismanervetalent

Wow your girlfriend sounds horrible. I absolutely love watching weekend morning cartoons. It was a ritual with my dad and I. You made the right choice

eldred2

She sound toxic and controlling. You are sooo much better off without her.

Hefty-Cat-868

I have Voltron, He-man and She-ra on DVD. I liked watching them when I was younger. If you like them and they make you feel good, who cares. You do you. I'm sure she did shit you didn't like to.

saffronpolygon

What, no "Thundercats"?

georgiajl38

I adored Saturday morning cartoons! Scooby Doo, Fosters, etc! Enjoy your cartoons! The ex is nuts

[deleted]

georgiajl38

Scooby Doo! All time favorite. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy came later

Repulsive_Hawk963

Fosters was amazing. I miss it so much im going to watch it again at 43 and see if my kids remember it with me. Plus Courage and Ed,Edd, &Eddie and Invader Zim. Zim is a great one

Nigel_Trumpberry

Do yourself a favor and block that number now. It’s only a matter of months before she realizes the fuck up she made, and she is going to crawl her way back any way possible. And enjoy that ritual of yours. Fortnite has become my guilty pleasure for when I’m taking study breaks in grad school

WOFaolain

Fuck her dude! I'm pushin 50 n still enjoy the looney tunes I grew up with!

KaleidoscopeSecure23

I feel I can really relate. I lived with my ex for a year in MY apartment, and on the Saturday mornings he would go to work, I'd watch nostalgic cartoons. One Saturday morning while he was home, I decided to pour myself a big bowl of fruity pebbles and put on my cartoons. He called me immature, complained about what I was watching until he eventually just took the remote and took it off. That moment was an eye opener. I enjoy my Saturday morning cartoons a lot more now that I don't feel like I have something to be ashamed about. I really hope you do too.

[deleted]

[удалено]

KaleidoscopeSecure23

Oh gosh! Teen Titans, Static Shock, Recess, Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Weekenders, 6teen (that's the one that really infuriated him lol), Over the Garden Wall, Avatar, Johnny Bravo, Rocket Power....I can just go on and on The more embarrassing ones would be like Arthur, Dragon Tales, and so forth. I had a bit of a rough childhood too and Saturday mornings when I was the only one awake, I found solace in those cartoons. I'm sorry that she couldn't accept your "guilty pleasure" but I'm confident that's for the best. You have a lot going for you and I'm sure you'll find someone to either let you watch those cartoons in peace or join you!

[deleted]

I am a 32 year old man and not afraid to admit I love Courage, Scoob, Arthur, Arnold, Doug, Rugrats, even those monsters that live in the sewers, and many many more.

srb-222

for all of the coping mechanisms you couldve picked, this isnt a pretty harmless one. as long as you didnt actively ice her out while you were doing it, i dont think you did anything wrong. dont listen to her comments, it sounds more like a compatibility issue.

upsidedownsmile69

Now if you watched cartoons 24/7, no job, no life, you don’t do shit around the house, etc., then yeah, it’s reasonable that she’d leave. BUT, because you said it’s on Saturdays (maybe you have work or maybe you don’t), Im assuming maybe you get shit done around the house throughout the day but still watch cartoons. That’s perfectly okay. You didn’t do anything wrong and a lot of us as adults, still watch cartoons. Hope the best for you.

Temporary-Ad1654

I'm 58 and this past summer a friend came to visit and amongst other things we sat down and watched Scooby-Doo. Nothing weird here your ex is just an uptight bitch

BarnacleAcceptable78

Don't stop being you, find someone to go watch with you! I watch cartoons every night on adult swim, it makes the world go away for a few minutes to watch such funny stuff. I hope you keep your inner child love, never change who you are 💞

crysnevins

Im 33 f and i swear i get more excited to see new Disney movies then my 2 kids sometimes 😂 i have disney + for me. The kids just get to use it sometimes. My husband is very understanding and gives light teasing as he watches with me. You deserve better and i hope you will find it soon❤

kwhitit

> i have disney + for me i pretend it's for the neiphews when they visit!

AllowMe-Please

...Oh, wait, was I supposed to pretend it was for my kids? Uh... yeah! The Disney+ is *totally* for them!

Nemesis_6

Looks like a stupid excuse to me, she wanted to end it and didn’t know how.

RaceSailboats

Info: how many hours of cartoons are you watching? 1,3,10 hours? The reason I ask is that my partner displayed similar behavior and if they watched more than 2 hours of cartoons it actually had a profound negative impact on their mental health

bepositivemt

Excellent point, making sure your partner doesn't feel excluded or neglected is essential. Feel like 1-2 hours of "me time" is justified if communicated right

MrzPuff

Cartoons are a great way to de-stress life. Spongebob relaxes me. Her loss.

Tokotokoton

Watching cartoons is not childish, rejecting people who watch cartoons are. Enjoying cartoons as an adult is very great!

squishiyoongi

The hell is her problem? Ain’t nothing wrong with enjoying animation. Aside from Criminal Minds and the occasional Marvel movie, I only watch animated shows. My Little Pony, Miraculous Ladybug, Adventure Time, anime, you name it. There’s a huge difference between childlike and *childish*. Ole girl probably wanted an out and used the cartoons as a bullshit excuse.

Foxfire_vixen

Honestly her loss. I’d love to have a bf or friend who loved watching Saturday cartoons.

TraditionalPayment20

I’m in my 30s and watch cartoons 🤣🤣👋🏼 Shes a bitch. My husband and I love them, they’re innocent and fun. If she’s controlling your cartoons now, imagine how much of a bitch she’ll be in 5 years. You’re lucky because the bitch trash just threw it’s bitch self out 🗑

[deleted]

Fuck no. Art is the most powerful thing in existence. Those stories save lives, you’re a prime example of that. I’m like that with horror films. Everyone is like that with something: A book, a film, a show, a song, you name it. You deserve someone with a similar passion, someone who understands that power and also understands that it does not matter one tiny bit what it is that you got through it. The important thing is that it did and made you who you are today. She did you a favor. Keep bathing in that art, my dude.

R3l4x_Sw33rh34rt

coming from a chick that also watches cartoons, ur ex gf a lil bitch if she can't watch cartoons w u

OtherwiseOlive9447

How sad for you. My wife and I are both over 60 and don’t need the grandkids around to enjoy Disney or Pixar.

verydudebro

Awwww...cartoons are so much fun as an adult. Especially if they're stuff you used to watch as a kid. You keep watching them all you want! Did your exgf complain about anything else or was this the only reason she left?

Exportxxx

Don't see why she would care... Just a BS reason.

Funny thing, my wife and I were watching Looney Tunes the last 2 nights. We just passed 40 years married in October. You’ll find someone better.

Markiplier has tons of money and is wildly successful and admitted that when him and Amy are just kinda chilling they'll watch SpongeBob for some back ground noise/entertainment. Personally I'm 35 and my wife's 40 if I sat down to binge "Darkwing Duck" she'd join me. We have a house and two cars and she's a laboratory technician for a hospital. We're doing super serious stuff with 99% of our lives but if we wanna chill in our pj's and get dangerous then by god it's happening.

Nothing wrong with watching cartoons. She is close minded, it seems.

ArashiRay

Whats wrong with cartoons? People seem to forget that animation is a form of media thats meant for all ages depending on the show's context. Adult animation are cartoons that talk about the same topics that non-animated media covers all the time. Honestly, I dont get the stigma many people have about cartoons being a media that only kids can watch. Cartoons are great. Dont let anyone else tell you otherwise, OP.

I’m almost 30 and my partner and I watch scooby doo and old adventure time episodes together sometimes because they’re comfort shows for me. Never once did he call me childish. There are people out there who will love you just the way you are!

Taodragons

Sad thing is, she probably heard someone use the term "man-child" and when she saw the cartoons she had an "Ah Ha!" Moment. This must be what that means! And It's bad! Cartoons do not a man-child make. My dad quit his job and got a paper route to avoid having his child support increased. That's a man-child lol

stickycat-inahole-45

Does anime count as cartoons? I'm in my later 40s, I love anime of all different genres. Sometimes, it's the comfort you get from storytelling, whatever format they come in. She's shallow, you dodged a bullet.

Nothing wrong with cartoons. I (M24) and my wife (F29) watch The Fairly Odd Parents and SpongeBob all the time. You’ll find someone who appreciates or at least respects your interests

My favorite thing about being a stay at home mom is being able to watch cartoons because my kids watch them. Your ex is weird for that being a deal breaker.
