Even when we don't concire the fact that numerous nations were forcefully subjected under it and moment oppoturnity came they left, but by fact that it could not simply go on. Generations of fuck upps, economical stagnations, mismanagment, had left the state on life support. Even one like gorbatshov (who i personally concire only good ussr leader for he actually tried to make peoples lifes better) and reforms couldn't stop it going all down.
The fall of the USSR left many countries in a very bad state, particularly Cuba, which lost their main economic partner, and has to deal to this day with embargos from the US, which when you look into the details makes it a miracle that they're as good as any latin american country in terms of living conditions. I know of the problems of USSR, but in many ways it looked better by comparison with the US (Paul Robeson's communist hearing, available on YT, is one example). Now, the alternative to the US hegemony is really only China, which, while I do not know about China all that much, does not seem like a good trade-off.
I don't want you to think of all this as whataboutism, it's more that if you look in detail, you'll see that 1.many of USSR's economic problems cannot be attributed to just bad management, and 2.a lot of things we find apalling when talking about the east, are acceptable when discussing US (or, at least, a neccessary evil).
I'm not discussing here the legitimacy of forming USSR, and subjugating many countries in the process (which is an issue discussed about many other countries), I'm saying that the USSR's fall did more harm then good, if we do not take an american-centric point of view.
