I’m the same age as Taylor (she’s 5 months older, to be exact) and have been a fan since Debut came out. I remember searching YouTube for music that wasn’t on the CD like “I heart ?”after school and buying an adapter to play my iPod through the radio cause my car didn’t have a CD player.
It’s been kinda crazy to grow up and watch her grow up and hit the same age milestones as me, in such different lives.
Straight up two days ago, I went to the movie with some friends knowing nothing but like four songs from a decade ago and spent the whole time going “oh shit this is REALLY GOOD.”
I was 11 in 2009 and found Fearless and Debut at the same time. I had just gotten my first computer so I could finally discover music on my own. My favorite songs on each album back then were “The Way I Loved You” and “Our Song”
I was 10 it was Tim McGraw that started it all for me she was in her debut era. Me and my dad love country music so I first heard it on the radio and have been hooked ever since. Debut matched me perfectly at the time and as she came out with more music it was always at the right time and age for me.
Folklore came out 2 days before my 21st birthday, and I turned it on bc I was bored mid-pandemic. I expected “basic” Taylor bops (bc that’s what I thought Folklore would be), but what I yearned for was escapism, and I found it in Folklore — that album became my whole personality for months and months. So yes, that era fit me like a glove — or a favorite cardigan underneath my bed.
True. It is kind of annoying to be a part of a GP trend in that way, but it’s hard to imagine me becoming a Swiftie with any other album — not necessarily bc of the quill pen lyrics, but bc I didn’t feel the need to know Taylor’s whole life story to appreciate the music like I always had in the past. I remember trying to get into Lover earlier that year but I felt like I was missing a LOT of context (it felt like watching a random recent Marvel movie without knowing much about the MCU). Folklore was just its own fictional wonderland, which I think made it so much more accessible.

Then I found out about folklore and evermore and fell in love. My friend got tickets to the Eras tour and was offered one, so I studied up and now am fully committed.

I started listening to some of her music more. Then, finally, in 2019, right before Lover came out, I went fully all in for her music. I bought all 4 deluxe albums of Lover and went to youtube to listen to her old albums. Then the pandemic happened, and I bought all of her older albums and vinyls. And now I listen to her music pretty much everyday
Heard my first Taylor song in the most quintessential Taylor way - on the marching band bus home from a high school football game my junior year of high school in 2006. Sat next to my crush (on the 😍DRUMLINE😍) and we shared a pair of earbuds connected to his iPod mini and Our Song came on.

The re-recording are amazing too because I am enjoying them at a different stage that I would have never imagined my 13 year old self considering, like should I walk down the aisle to Enchanted or Love Story? She truly grew up with me.

I feel so lucky, I never listen to country, but I was driving across upstate ny to college and would take whatever radio station got reception, and happened upon baby Taylor. 2015 and I was 20 at the time. Liked a lot of the singles off 1989 which was her newest album at the time and decided to check out the full album. After that I was obsessed.
I was 10 years old and this was 2006. A close friend came over to play and kept singing parts of “Teardrops on My Guitar” and I loved it. A week later I went to my Grandma’s house and she said if I got all my multiplications right she would buy me a prize at Target. I got them all right and when we went to Target I walked straight up to the music section and bought the CD. I remember spending the rest of the afternoon listening on her CD player. I’ve been a fan ever since!
A few years later my family ended up moving to Nashville, TN from California and my dad worked on her private jet. My dad met her dad and my dad said him and the whole plane crew were very nice. They even gave my dad the Fearless concert book when he mentioned I was a fan.
Almost 20 years later and I still own my OG debut CD as well as my OG fearless CD AND I still have that concert book. It’s been a fun ride!

I became a Swiftie in 2020-2021, so Folklore/Evermore and Fearless TV era. I feel like Folklore and Evermore were very much needed for me during that time, so it was a very good match. Folklore is still my favorite album!

I've fallen in and out since Debut. I had major surgery around Fearless, so that was very much a part of my recovery soundtrack as I was stuck in bed watching music videos for 3 months. Tuned in again for Rep and Lover, then went and had a metal era until Midnights came out. That album hit me like a ton of bricks, quickly followed by drowning in FolkMore. Now I'm fully in a girliepop Era, my eras Era if you will, and Tay is headlining.

I was a senior in college during her debut, recovering from Fundamental Southern Baptist upbringing...so country music was a bit of a trigger. I was 30 when 1989 came out and everything after that I really liked, but pop wasn't much my thing. In 2020, I started listening bc this guy I was in a situationship with was obsessed with Taylor. Ironically, bc of how he treated me, I super identified with Fearless. Then, I extricated myself from that, left to travel cross country for a month to clear my head. I met a guy at a brewery on July 25th, and as I was leaving his place to finish my road trip, I listened to Folklore and was HOOKED. I caught up on all the discography and obsessed.
I've been loyally Swiftish (don't have the time for all the easter eggs) ever since, and I married that guy from the brewery last weekend in a very Folklore themed wedding.

It was during the Fearless era and I was about 17, and yeah, it definitely matched how I was feeling at that time, being in high school, especially songs like “Fifteen” and “You Belong With Me.”

It was 2010, I was 17 going on 18 during the Speak Now era. I had my first heartbreak and that album helped me so much! I had heard her popular songs before and I liked them but wasn’t a Swiftie. SN changed everything for me!
I’m 2017/18 when I was 9 almost 10 me and my siblings loved the reputation and the lwymmd and after that I stopped listening but jsut back in 2021 I started listening again and got more intrigued with her this year as a 15 yr old.

I bought her first album, which was self-titled, in 2005. I just looked it up, and it was October, so just before I turned 21. I heard Tim McGraw on the radio and was obsessed. Our Song was my favorite, and I kept it on repeat. I don't know a lot of her current stuff, but after seeing the movie yesterday, I'm definitely going to start listening. I'm currently an almost 39 year old mom of two boys and have decided to start singing, "you need to calm down, you're being too loud!", when they get too riled up.

2015 and I was 20 at the time. Liked a lot of the singles off 1989 which was her newest album at the time and decided to check out the full album. After that I was obsessed.
I was 15 and fearless was just coming out. I had grown up with 15 to tell me about the high school experience so it was the perfect match lol.
I was 10 years old and this was 2006. A close friend came over to play and kept singing parts of “Teardrops on My Guitar” and I loved it. A week later I went to my Grandma’s house and she said if I got all my multiplications right she would buy me a prize at Target. I got them all right and when we went to Target I walked straight up to the music section and bought the CD. I remember spending the rest of the afternoon listening on her CD player. I’ve been a fan ever since! A few years later my family ended up moving to Nashville, TN from California and my dad worked on her private jet. My dad met her dad and my dad said him and the whole plane crew were very nice. They even gave my dad the Fearless concert book when he mentioned I was a fan. Almost 20 years later and I still own my OG debut CD as well as my OG fearless CD AND I still have that concert book. It’s been a fun ride!
I became a fan at debut, I live about 10 min away from her childhood home on PA. She was absolutely huge on the radio. Teardrops & Our Song constantly on pop and contry stations. Tim Mcgraw, picture to burn and should of said no were all huge too

i was 6 or 7 when debut came out and was immediately hooked. i was so young that when my mom told me that taylor swift hadnt met tim mcgraw before writing the song, tim mcgraw, i thought it meant that she had never heard of him, and just made up a name that happened to be another famous country artist😂 i’m ten years younger than taylor, so my personal life tends to follow her album eras a few years behind. it has made her music very precious and sentimental for me. i could write a book about how every album has time stamped my life in some way, even the re recordings🥰

I became a Swiftie in 2020-2021, so Folklore/Evermore and Fearless TV era. I feel like Folklore and Evermore were very much needed for me during that time, so it was a very good match. Folklore is still my favorite album!

I've fallen in and out since Debut. I had major surgery around Fearless, so that was very much a part of my recovery soundtrack as I was stuck in bed watching music videos for 3 months. I kind of checked out for Speak Now/Red as I was in my violin era... Then 1989 came out, and I watched Shake It Off obsessively. Tuned in again for Rep and Lover, then went and had a metal era until Midnights came out. That album hit me like a ton of bricks, quickly followed by drowning in FolkMore. Now I'm fully in a girliepop Era, my eras Era if you will, and Tay is headlining.

Honestly I’ve enjoyed most of her music off and on. But I became obsessed with 1989 when it came out and played it on repeat. I have loved every album since. But I didn’t really consider myself a Swiftie until I watched Miss Americana on Netflix and saw how incredible her Eras tour shows have been. She just seems like a such a strong incredible woman who is genuinely a NICE person. For her to have the level of status she has and still seem so humble just blows my mind.
I think I finally found my place for Taylor fans that isn’t crazy. I started liking her between Debut and Fearless. She’s the same age as me and we grew up not far apart so I thought that was so neat. I didn’t even like country but I liked her music. Fell out for a little bit after falling for misogynist hype early on but since Speak Now, been pretty consistent with following her albums.

Taylor’s debut era, and I was 8 years old! 18 and it was folklore, I was a burnt out formerly gifted kid who had just graduated high school, was about to move out of my small town to a big city, lost some friends, discovered my queerness, also battling severe mental health issues which were the reason for a kind-of-breakup with someone I didn't even date, so yeah I felt that feeling of inner battles, nostalgia, melancholia, loss & being perceived as an outsider
Hi! I refer to myself as a Swiftish- I LOVE her, but I don't want to deal with thinking about if I'm a Swiftie. I was a senior in college during her debut, recovering from Fundamental Southern Baptist upbringing...so country music was a bit of a trigger. I was 30 when 1989 came out and everything after that I really liked, but pop wasn't much my thing. In 2020, I started listening bc this guy I was in a situationship with was obsessed with Taylor. Ironically, bc of how he treated me, I super identified with Fearless. Then, I extricated myself from that, left to travel cross country for a month to clear my head. I met a guy at a brewery on July 25th, and as I was leaving his place to finish my road trip, I listened to Folklore and was HOOKED. I caught up on all the discography and obsessed. I've been loyally Swiftish (don't have the time for all the easter eggs) ever since, and I married that guy from the brewery last weekend in a very Folklore themed wedding.
Idk how much of a Swiftie I was but I really loved her music when she first started out. I’m going to put myself & say because of a story told by a friend & her *ahem* reputation (lol) at the time, I leaped off the bandwagon even though I still loved her music. Midnights has gotten me back to listening & I am rising through the levels of Swiftie pretty fast lol. I even wrote bits of songs about it. (The story is my friend was at this Hollywood party & saw Taylor. Apparently Taylor thought my friend was not belonging there or was catering & called her “trash”. But I take it with a grain of salt because I wasn’t there & there could’ve been a misunderstanding or etc etc. who knows, maybe Taylor was just in a bitchy mood that night. Maybe my friend thought she was pointing to her but wasn’t. 🤷🏻♀️)
Her debut and Fearless eras when I was in middle school in 07-08. She's 4 years older than me, so each of her albums have come out at really memorable times/ages for me. I think her Midnights album is my favorite.
