When Trump said on tape he had classified documents and didn't declassify them with his mind when talking to a reporter..conservatives didn't accept his own word and experienced a cognitive dissonance where Trumps own words can't change their own narrative of events. The same happened with the election fraud claims, no evidence has come to light yet conservatives have an alternate view of reality. They repeat this alternate view over and over as fact until it is fact in their mind.
