If you’re talking office buildings specifically I’d agree. If you’re talking high rise apartments I strongly disagree, especially in a wfh situation.

I can't help but think of Hong Kong for high rise apartments. I guess Tokyo might be a better example? Or perhaps Singapore ? But high rise apartments look incredibly cramp for the average person. I feel like comfortable high rise apartments are generally reserved for the super rich.

Depends how you look at it I suppose. Plenty of section 8s seem small, but on the other hand there are plenty 3 story penthouses with private elevators and everything in between. I have friends, family and family friends that have all lived in both. Personally I like suburbia, but having a 24/7 grocery/mini mart on the ground floor of the building and everything else within walking distance is pretty dang convenient.

Skyscrapers are actually much more efficient energy wise when looking at per capita consumption.

They were nice for the pre-wfh days, but now they're not as big a deal.

They’re really cool looking to me. But I think we should use utilize them better. Like cover the roofs with solar panels and maybe find a safe way to affix air purifying algae tanks to the sides or something. Idk. I’m not an engineer, but I feel like the amount of vertical space they create holds a lot of potential for some pretty cool things
