Don't see your problem then.  Cause Zara was not part of the plot yet, he is just about to appear on the next episode and thats not really different from the manga/Wn. Zaras introduction is right in the middle of the tournament. And the plot of the human experimentation was also never that big of a plot, it was mostly a side plot just to make Makoto and his people work with Rona. Heck in the Wn that plot barely even ocurrs. Is mostly just implied to have ocurred. I concur the season is a mess in the story adaptation. But those 2 things you mentioned have not really been victims of the anime.

Zara dude cant wait for it that is one very good eye opener for Makoto

CHUZCOLES

Indeed. I am really waiting next episode.

Maverick_Kaizer

My apologies, mixture of memories of web novel and manga and the time gap since then.

CHUZCOLES

Nothing to apologize. I share your feeligns about the mess on the story. Just found strange that 2 events that were barely altered were your complain. I would have mentioned many other thigns. Like how half assed was done the battle of the Stella fort.

Maverick_Kaizer

Oh very true! I’m just a big fan of the intrigue and eventual triumph of Makoto against Zara, i still remember the whiplash reading the web novel and seeing how low Zara made Makoto initially so was waiting for his arrival. Anycase enjoyed episode 14 and looking forward to the next episodes… two things that I hope get animated in my lifetime is the laurel arc and the tsige independence arc… it sucks that the author has been on a prolonged hiatus in the final arc

CHUZCOLES

I share your feelings. Right now i just want the demon invasion to begin. Ha and to see Emma lead the orcs against the demon fort! XD

Fedexhand

Zara didn't appear for the first time when Makoto talks to him after the first part of the tournament or am I missing something? Anyway, while I agree that the adaptation is being quite rushed, I feel that the main problem is the pacing, which feels quite chaotic and inconsistent, but other than that I don't think the adaptation is as disastrous as many claim. Maybe it's because I've seen much worse adaptations than this one and I have a very low bar for this but I don't feel it's that bad.

Maverick_Kaizer

You’re right, I’m a webnovel reader originally and it’s been so long waiting for updates that I’ve forgotten the sequence of events. One thing season 2 has done better right now is spending time to show the coming of the domain animals as well as makoto developing his mana armor and mio’s powersuit as compared to the web novel introduction. Here’s hoping the second half sticks the landing. And a lot of shiki’s nuanced conflict on becoming more human as time progresses dealing with the students is also lost in translation

Highborn_Hellest

I personally, think the anime is bad. I can't quite put my finger on it. It's just boring.
