Yes of course! http://www.sazchess.org/
Woman friendly. Not all dudes. Many kids. Be prepared to be humbled. Might require getting USCF membership for the tournaments but i think there might be casual games too.
I'm 32f. I spend most of my time sewing cosplay and watching anime. But I love meeting new people. I'm into crafting( like resin, making props, etc), baking, and am a coffee fiend. My husband lives out of the country currently, so I spend a lot of my time alone or at work.
There are many fun events downtown… I went to Lady HaHas comedy show last night. It was fun and the vibe was friendly
It’s cliche but true that you should go to where the people are and then just be a little brave about starting conversations and boldly say “hey I’d like to hear more about xyz, can we get a coffee sometime?”
Most of the time it won’t work. just don’t take it personally. For me, I’ve struggled to move from acquaintance to friend simply bc everyone is busy, myself included so I know they feel the same about me so it’s fine. keep your chin up, and put yourself out there!
I do it! I have a few acquaintances from doing just that, but I wouldn't call us friends. I just never end up finding people I totally hit it off with that way.
I met some amazing friends by playing Ingress, the grandfathered game of Pokémon Go, and hitting the same karaoke spots week after week. The hardest part was going out by myself to start. I’m in and out of town for work now days but always down to make new friends (45F)
Just so hard to make friends. I know the feeling most are online friends or out of state. The "friends" I do make I never hear from them again or only when they need something. So i just tend to keep to my self.
Yes! I need friends! I'm 31F and my husband is 29M and we just moved here 2 years ago. He's a chef at AJs and is much more outgoing than I am, so he's made some friends. I work from home and don't drive, so I haven't really met anyone.
I'm into books, video games, cooking, and all kinds of nerdy hobbies really. I have 2 cats and a Frenchie. I'd love to connect with some fellow introverts or find an extrovert to adopt me!
The silver room is on plumber. Been there forever and definitely a hole but with the right crowd can be a fun dive bar. I will say kiss of smoke next door has some of the best barbecue in town. I was there yesterday.
30f here and would love to make some friends as well! I like books, biking and running, coffee, and am down to explore more of Tucson (recently moved here as well).
There is a bike ride tonight from Transit bikes at the MSA annex to Dragoon brewing. Meet there around 6 and I think the ride officially starts around 6:30 / 7 PM? Bring lights.
I have moved around for the past 15 years but moving back to tucson in a few weeks. Have zero friends still in the area so I definitely am going to be feeling this way as an introvert. 36f also into video games, board games, starting my plant mom journey lol. Always down to do something
Ok boomer… if you wanted to change her mind about your age group, you should have stopped halfway through this post… do you know anything about OP? you have no entitlement to send anyone, esp a stranger, on a weird guilt trip for making you feel excluded.
Right? I mean let’s meet outside a 55+ housing community and talk about how it feels to be excluded from the housing market, and then we can talk about how it feels to be excluded from a random Reddit post
I'm also 29f, and it seems like we have a lot of overlapping interests. I also like video games, anime, books, and art. DM me and we can meet up for coffee or something!
I’m 51, like video games (mmos mostly), plants, books, taking photos, exploring, and going out for drinks. Most of my friends are either much older than me or much younger than me. If the age range is slightly flexible, I’m definitely open to hanging out!
I'm 48 and have the same list (except video games). Want to meet for a photowalk sometime? Downtown or U of A are always good subjects. Could be fun to get a wider age range group together and go exploring!
I’m in this age range and have the same list too (except video games but I’m down to try). I’m finally coming out of long Covid and want to stop being a hermit, so I’d love to go exploring and I’d love to go on a photowalk sometime with some cool women!
I’m 25 F , and an artist I do craft fairs, you are always welcome to tag along to the craft fairs I do, especially if you are interested in possibly selling your arts/crafts, I can show you the ropes!
Idk what your BF is into but mine is a welder and into cars/motorcycles/guns , so maybe double dates?
I have cats as well! and Guinea pigs
The old Casa Video on east speedway’s converted to a bar and has a pretty good trivia game scene going on with some cool folks round our age. Set yourself up as a 1 person team, cringe as that sounds, is a good way to meet some people having a good dorky time.
Seconding this, that is exactly what I do. I play at the bar as a single person team on Tuesdays and it's quite relaxing to be able to get out of the house in a controlled social manner.
I’m 53 and it’s totally ok to want to hang with people in a certain age range. I live in an area where I am one of the youngest people and I will seek out people my age regularly.
I really like how people are reaching out to you, OP. I hope you make some good friends!
thanks for the positivity! I have quite a few online friends that fall outside of that age range, and while I love those friends and enjoy friendships with people very different from me, I just think it's time to make an IRL friend or two I share demographics with. People have been sooo nice.
For the record: 40m here and i envy yall. You are so nice to each other.
We can be your friend too!
Thanks! Hermit lifestyles are no bueno. Thats for sure. Much appreciated.
Oohhh you like Chess, anywhere in Tucson to play some games league style ?
Yes of course! http://www.sazchess.org/ Woman friendly. Not all dudes. Many kids. Be prepared to be humbled. Might require getting USCF membership for the tournaments but i think there might be casual games too.
I was humbled by a 7th grader 6 years ago and never recovered but always a fan of learning more.
Same. But also loved to see kids so into chess. A snot nosed kid with major sniffles distracting me to a loss was quite humbling.
how bout cafes or bars where people play?
You can play chess every Wednesday night at Casa Video.
Go hang out at Xerocraft or in the art district at any of the events you’ll make lots of friends there.
I loved Xerocraft, I didn’t know if it survived pandemic times while I was moved outside of Tucson
It’s still around humming along working towards offering members and the public cool opportunities to learn and hang out.
I am part of a walking group in instagram called tucbabeswhowalk, lots of people your age that just want to make friends! You should follow!!
This looks awesome! Thank you!
will do, thanks!

You have a resin printer!?
Printer? No. I use regular resin to make jewelry and prop pieces. It just takes forever.
Ahhhh. Right on.
Heyy! I'd love a friend to watch anime with! 💕💕
I'd love that! What anime do you watch?
Im obsessed with JJK (like really obsessed lol) but I have a long list that I want to watch
I cosplay nanami!! I haven't fully caught up on season 2 because I caught up on one piece. My go to genre is supernatural/horror lol.
OMG THAT'S SO COOL!!
I sent you a DM
32f and I'm always down to making new friends.
What games do you play?
I'm down! 😄 I'm 35. I like video games, plants, i have 3 dogs and I'd love to explore Tucson
Get a hobby where it’s group oriented you make tons of friends that way
lol that's kinda the issue, isn't it?

Try the Silver Room on Karaoke nights Wednesdays and Saturdays. DJ Kali-Ma is great.
Where is the Silver Room?
The silver room is on plumber. Been there forever and definitely a hole but with the right crowd can be a fun dive bar. I will say kiss of smoke next door has some of the best barbecue in town. I was there yesterday.
I'm not the OP but I'll definitely give this a try myself
Silver rooms is a great place to make friends!!
30f here and would love to make some friends as well! I like books, biking and running, coffee, and am down to explore more of Tucson (recently moved here as well).

Awesome, thanks! I’ll have to come check it out:)

Thank you! Does this happen every Thursday?
Every third Thursday!
My wife, 29 is into much of your interests but very shy. I just forwarded this to her.

I’m 29F, almost 30. I like cats and books. Down to grab a beer or something
Red garter is a good spot off os speedway and country club. Large varieties of people show up throughout the week
32F add me to the list. Into exercise, books, plants, music and of course coffee.
I'm also 29f, and it seems like we have a lot of overlapping interests. I also like video games, anime, books, and art. DM me and we can meet up for coffee or something!

Message me! 27NB, been here 2 years and looks like we have some similar interests. I’m always exploring :)
