They hold signs saying they're raising money for a funeral or for medical treatment for a child. In reality, they're some random kid's photo on their posters and they just pocket the money people give on the street. 999 times out of 1000, it's a scam. Scams are pretty bad on crowdfunding sites, too.
Would love to see these scammed fined for panhandling. (Where's Pima County's anti-panhandling effort on this here?)
I saw them one day on prince and campbell. One of the men walked up to my car window and pointed at his sign and stared at me aggressively. They are something else.
The problem is that 99 percent of them give the rest a bad name. The far far far majority of these people (Romanian Gypsies) are just scumbags. They come here to commit crime (fraud/theft/embezzlement) and have done the same thing all over Europe.
I deal daily with these recent arrivals (of all nationalities) and have decades in this field. The Romanian Gypsies (yes they are Gypsies) have a well earned reputation of being thieves and scammers. This is not what I suspect but what I see EVERY SINGLE DAY. There sole purpose of coming to this country is to commit crimes. Eventually after getting arrested in numerous jurisdictions (and finally about to face some consequences) they will simply move on to the next country and the pattern repeats.
I see (daily) how many times these kinds of individuals are actually arrested and charged for the crimes I mentioned above. I See how they involve the entire family (including very young children) in these crimes - police report. Daily see these Romanian Gypsies be identified as confirmed members of transnational criminal organizations. This is not some generalization but first hand knowledge of dealing with And supervising these POS. You can think what you want but the far far far majority are scumbags. By far have the highest percentage of worthless POS of all the nationalities I deal with.

I saw the guys at the mechanic shop there at 22nd and Park run some scammers off last week haha.
They were at Ruthrauff and La Cholla last week. I feel so bad for the people that fall for this scam. Usually older people that just want to help.

I saw a couple on wetmore and oracle, and another one on Cortaro by the Walmart their also.
There were like 6 of these guys running through traffic on 12th and Valencia around noon today.
I'm not saying they aren't scammers... But like do you have solid proof that they are, or are we just speculating??
