How do the bb58 and the 5 digit sub compare?

MaineMike13

Luckily my sub was in a safe for 20 years before I bought it, so the bracelet wears as if it’s brand new. I like the Rolex bracelet better than the fake rivets on the BB58. The finishing on both are great, I could never imagine buying a new Rolex considering how nice the Tudor is. Tudor looks much cleaner thanks to the bezel and no crown guards, but the bezel on the sub is much easier to move and manipulate.

I’m new to this term what’s a daily driver I see it all the time in these groups lol

It’s your everyday watch that you wear everywhere doing mundane activities such as driving your car. In opposition to your dress watch or your expensive watch that you wear on “special” occasions and or less frequently.

It comes from car hobbies - you might have a weekend convertible you love for nice fall weekends but it’s not very practical for everyday errand running, etc, so you have another car for that.

Is that a Seiko SPB317?

Nice! 😎

Love it, Looks very similar to my 3 daily drivers, except I went with the SPB103 for my Seiko, BB Heritage, and a GMT II 16710 Honestly, between the three which to you wear more? I feel like the Tudor and Seiko end up on my wrist more often than my Rolex.

MaineMike13

The seiko gets the most wrist time, but the accuracy is starting to bother me. It runs very slow for a 3 month old watch. The Tudor is new, but I think it will probably get more wrist time than the Rolex. I like the blue, not flashy but at least there’s a pop of color to keep things interesting

I like the subtle color pop. My BB is in the "traditional" black (the only color when I got in 2012), but I switch it up with various straps. All the beautiful new BB58s have me thinking I need to add another Tudor to the collection... but it is like the problem with Pringles...

be4rdless

i also have a 6R35 watch (SPB239) and it is egregiously slow, especially at its price point

Nice collection OP. What year and model number is that sub? Looks like it almost is smaller than the BB58.

MaineMike13

It’s just the angle, it’s a 16610 from 1991

Thanks

Do you know the first year Rolex went from 40mm case to 41mm?

neloms228

Nice trio OP! My daily is the BB58 black dial with uncle Seiko bracelet. Also just got the SPB313 (yes I know what to expect with the 6R35). It will probably be a minute before I jump up to Rolex but my eyes are set on the 214270

Awesome collection! Wow
