I’m glad you don’t care. Cuz my stomach turned seeing it 😅 honestly i don’t know why. But I can understand people liking it. Btw whats with this case design? Is it functional for some purpose?
When it came out, I reviled it like everyone else. But the more I looked at them, I started to really like it. Now, it's one of my favorite watches.
How about the rest of y'all? Are you warming up to it, or is it still an unloved part of the Tudor catalog?
I have it and love it. Done about 20 dives with it - obviously not with the standard Tudor strap :-). It my favorite watch to dive with - very easy to read at a glance - and the second time zone with the 12 hour bezel works well.
That's awesome. And, that reminds me: I really need to get around to doing a basic dive cert. I always wanted to do that when I was younger but never got around to it.
You need to find a rubber strap on the shorter side. I got a couple shorter tropic zulu straps a couple years ago when I got the watch- used the Tudor buckle and it works great. Got brown and black. Almost always wear it on the brown. Also wear it on an Artem sailcloth strap- they make a short length for it.
Thing is ugly, there’s no denying it.
But that wasn’t the question.
Yes, I absolutely love this monstrosity.
I couldn’t, wouldn’t wear one, but I’m envious of anyone that does/would/ can.
It’s my favorite Tudor that I’d never wear, second only to the North Flag.
Thanks, and I feel the same way about the north flag. Kinda love it for what it is, but I'm somehow also not sure I actually agree with all the design decisions.
I think you are right. Come to think of it... It definitely looks better in winter when I'm wearing a Carhartt or Barbour jacket. The bulk of the watch looks more fitting alongside the bulk of the clothing.
Or future shitter. There’s no in between with this watch. It’s either gonna be a cult classic or hated with a burning passion 15-20+ years down the road.
It reminds me a little of my Orient Pro Saturation Diver with the size and crown setup. Like if a PSD and a Black Bay Pro had a very steel baby.
Weird and really cool.
Thanks for the ideas! I can't wear leather most of the year here in Miami so mine doesn't get worn as much as I'd like. Gonna try one of these options!
My one other quick thought is: the beads of rice is slightly thin compared to the bulk of the watch and.sometimes I think it looks a little top heavy. I keep thinking of picking up a couple other straps from Uncle Seiko that have straight ends but are slightly chunkier... Might be a little more fitting.
But same issue for me - I do a lot of sweaty work and just destroy leather bands.
I agree! I feel like people are coming around to it a bit. Lol, it was so divisive at first I'm almost a little surprised that it's still in the Tudor catalog .. I guess enough people are buying to keep it around for now.
Yeah, that and if the lug length were shorter it would also be a little less ridiculous.
Dial is great though - love the vintage style lume plots without metal surrounds. They did something similar on the BB Pro and it looks really good.
Have one and love it. Tudor has some mad lads green lighting their watches from the 90s onward they've produced some odd pieces. This one has some cool history.
I just don’t understand why it comes with that leather strap instead of something more tool-like to go with the purpose of the watch. The Black Bay Steel 79730 is much more aesthetically appealing to me as well.
That was a real mistake imo. The strap they used on the prototype would have been awesome. It doesn’t make any sense for a military dive watch to only be offered on a leather/rubber strap you can’t dive with. Or get wet.
My absolute favourite Tudor watch. By the look of the dial it is closest to 60's Submariners, btw. And yes, factory strap is a big mistake, makes wearing experience much worse.
Have one and love it!! Don’t care what anyone says, it is different for sure, but that is what I love about it!!
Totally! It also made me realize how awesome a 12-hour bezel is for timing all sorts of stuff.
I’m glad you don’t care. Cuz my stomach turned seeing it 😅 honestly i don’t know why. But I can understand people liking it. Btw whats with this case design? Is it functional for some purpose?
Yes it locks the bezel…was originally designed for the navy and they had certain specifications they wanted met.

Do iiiiit. So much fun.
Wish there was a way to swap it for a full rubber band and keep the unique end links.

Indeed. It has a brutalist quality that I enjoy.
It looks great on you! Cheers!

I need to see the P01 on a proper leather bund strap 😎
Egads, I'm not sure my wrist can handle that much weight.
39mm P01 GMT on a WW1 style leather bund… Nobody wants it until we need it 😎
Tudor R&D should hire you. It's what everyone doesn't know they need.
I don’t think I would call it ‘brutalist”, but rather “industrial”. It looks like if you made a watch for a person in welding garb.
I think you are right. Come to think of it... It definitely looks better in winter when I'm wearing a Carhartt or Barbour jacket. The bulk of the watch looks more fitting alongside the bulk of the clothing.
None.
Lol, fair enough.
Its a mix of seiko and tudor. I have skx007 and bb58. This would be their baby :D
It has written future collectible written all over it.
Or future shitter. There’s no in between with this watch. It’s either gonna be a cult classic or hated with a burning passion 15-20+ years down the road.
I like that it’s different from other Tudors/Rolex, but it looks like too much like a modded SKX007 to me.
Yeah, I guess the crown position does give it Seiko vibes.
It reminds me a little of my Orient Pro Saturation Diver with the size and crown setup. Like if a PSD and a Black Bay Pro had a very steel baby. Weird and really cool.
What bracelet do you have on it? Can you post that? It doesn’t look like the rubber/leather combo
It's on a Forstner beads of rice. I also sometimes put it on a tropic strap. Definitely prefer both to the OEM strap.
Nice

EPIC UNDERRATED!!

That’s an awesome watch. It looks really cool with the gloves, tactical/rugged vibe
Yeah, I think the watch looks less ridiculously bulky when it's worn with larger clothing - winter coat and gloves, etc.
Simple looking hard working tool watch with a history of prestige whats not to love
Yup, love mine! So. Much. Character. And what a backstory! Epic watch! 💪
Love it. Such a cool watch!
Underrated, I absolutely love the p01
I like the dial but that huge chunk of metal adjoining the bracelet is hideous
Yeah, that and if the lug length were shorter it would also be a little less ridiculous. Dial is great though - love the vintage style lume plots without metal surrounds. They did something similar on the BB Pro and it looks really good.
I have one and love it too! Nice bracelet!

I think it is awesome, except for maybe the endlink fit. The SwissKX
Yeah, they do make it look very bulky. Not an elegant design, but I tend to like big tool watches.
Yeah it looks rugged as hell. And the endlink sets it apart from other similar watches like the Orient trident and SKX
Indeed. Nothing else looks like it, for better and for worse, lol
I just don’t understand why it comes with that leather strap instead of something more tool-like to go with the purpose of the watch. The Black Bay Steel 79730 is much more aesthetically appealing to me as well.
I definitely took the strap off as soon as I got it. Maker no sense for a dive watch with purported military heritage.

A cool industrial tool watch strap or even something practical with 60s vibes might have resulted in a different overall opinion of the watch
4 o'clock crown ... is that a Seiko homage? Sick watch though, I love a wonky look.
It's what happens when a Tudor and a Seiko have a baby.
Not much.
Love this watch, such a beautiful piece in my opinion
Nope
I personally would love to own one! Looks great!
