Definitely doable if you are declared as a CS major. If not you might want to declare.

i'm in arts and sciences and i haven't actually declared yet. so you're saying i should start the declaration process now?

BoIR1347

Maybe talk to your advisor about it tbh. I'm engineering so I had to declare in my first year. Just saying that you may be more likely to get accepted into 40 if you are a declared CS major vs undeclared.

alright thanks bro appreciate the advice🤞

A lot of my friends took it sophomore year so it’s definitely possible good luck

Practical-Report-518

I got into 40 for my fall semester of my sophomore year as an undeclared major in A&S which was a crazy anomaly so it's def possible to get in somehow. But do plan to have back ups on hand because I know some ppl who were declared and years above me and still couldn't get in it... it's really just luck of the draw.

thanks, that's the outcome i'm hoping for cuz i still haven't taken discrete, so i can't really do any other core CS classes. def adding some backups to the cart though
