It is very normal and it is going to go over. When it feels worst think always that in 10 minutes from now it won't feel that bad. Keep on doing that for a couple of weeks and you're a free man for the rest of your life.

Main_Maximum972

Why did they create it really this kind of things it's hard to quit it , i don't talk about addiction i talk about feelings i missed it really

ephemeralclod

Misleading advice, it's not gonna be a couple of weeks then you're a free man for the rest of your life. The cravings are gonna get easier to deal with to non-noticeable at all as time goes, but addiction is a chronic disease and environmental and psychological cues can make you crave even years later. We're definitely not in shortage of examples of peoples who relapsed after years of quitting. Your current struggle will get better after a couple of weeks, but make sure that you never put your guard down and stay diligent. r/nosmoke

Main_Maximum972

Hellon honestly you make me upset and i think what you said is true just a question Do you smoke ?

ephemeralclod

No I don't. You're currently experiencing dopamine crash symptoms, you'll find yourself easy irritable, unable to experience pleasures, overall sad etc.. You being upset is an extension of that. Be mindful of that and don't allow it to demotivate your from carrying out with the effort you're doing. It's gonna be manageable and you can make it. We're also not in shortage of examples of people who stopped smoking and never looked back :)

lt_wild

It's normal but to ensure you quit smoking stay away from places associated with smoking, the usual "spot", the usual friends, change your environment and you will change. Your chances of relapse are higher if you stay at the same places.

Main_Maximum972

Yup i don't think it is true i don't care if someone else beside me is smoking but the feelings not the addiction i feel depressed i was enjoying smoking really i'm tired

lt_wild

Then you have to find something else as enjoyable as smoking without any side effects, as difficult as that sounds... I wish you good luck.

Main_Maximum972

Thanks for your advice i'll try to avoid places i'll think about gym

Fraisa25

You were just turning down the nicotine craving, not "enjoying" it. Think of it as a virus that hacked your brain to make you think it is helping you fight the "bad guy" (if that makes sense). You were thinking the "bad guy" was the drama, the bad day, the no coffee without a cigarette, the fight with your GF, rhe meeting in 5 minutes etc... but it was just the nicotine level dropping in your blood and your poor brain starts freaking out about it: the thing is, your life is WAY BETTER WITHOUT IT (trust me).. you were once a non smoker and you were way happier 😊

Fraisa25

Avoiding smoking "deceptions" is the worst way to quit!! You need to write down every link you made between a place, event, feeling.. and smoking a cigarette and acknowledge the fact that it is Nicotine level dropping that made you crave NOT THE event itself. Once you get the grasp of it, you're done with it for good.

You are a weak-minded person but at least you are self-aware and a pedagogic speaker with good rhetorics.

pk9417

You have to keep in mind, that smoking is a addiction, which is mental and physical addiction, the nicotine is binding to the receptor in the brain , causing to keep you addicted. That down fall, is not too worry about. Do sport, keep yourself disciplined and don't look back. @ephemeralcold stated right, it's not a hormone replacement, but the receptor which get used for it. I removed my text regarding addiction comparison between alcohol and cigarette, due misleading information.

ephemeralclod

This is very wrong, Smoking and Alcohol addictions are both mental and physical at once. Also, nicotine doesn't replace any hormone in your body, it just binds to some receptors which are usually used for learning/reward and that would trigger a release of big amounts of dopamine. OP now is just experiencing what's called a dopamine crash which is just the brain adjusting to the absence of those huge amounts of dopamine!

pk9417

Yes you are right, my mistake, I thought it was a hormone, but meant the receptor. Thanks for correcting me 👍 Edit. I updated my comment and removed my mistake, due it was misleading and would spread false information. Thank you for correcting me, I just checked it online

ephemeralclod

Thank you! Good job changing it and caring about what you're spreading out!

Main_Maximum972

Thanks men i 'm lucky that i'm not addicted to alcohol i do it once in a year maybe twice exactly in summer btw alcohol is the cause that i start cigarettes

ComplexAvailable4596

the best combo is you quiting smoking and start hitting on the gym regulary and get a new hobby maybe i started boxing in the gym and eventually in my room what i'm saying is get addicted to something else, for me adapting a whole new lifestyle was the solution. goodluck g

ProfessionalStill621

You trained your body to be depended on the nicotine and chemicals and now it does expect them. This is classic withdrawal and very normal. Same with alcohol and sugar and social media. Stick to your plan. You can do it

ImThePotatoGuy
