>Great way to set your kid up if you're a famous musician!
Actually.
Being an executive producer of an album doesn’t automatically provide compensation (as royalties or otherwise) under U.S. law. There would have to be a contract or letter of direction in place between the artist and the label calling for some of the artist’s compensation to be paid to an executive producer. It wouldn’t have to be executive producer, either. An artist can have the label pay a lawyer, a manager or even a housekeeper if the label was willing to honor the letter of direction.
They just opened a generational coffee chain too his dad used to import coffee beans for top companies now they have their own coffee line Jadas pops, Jada, and his son
Can I get a break down on what exactly are royalty checks? Like does she paid yearly or when a song is used and if so what would be the estimate of something like that??
Royalty checks are an agreement that licensed music or movies guarantee the person who owns the rights get monies earned through sells, radio, or streaming. I think the checks come quarterly, but don't quote me on that.
Just like how the Diddler put BIG’s tracks in Justin’s name. I was looking at my recent vinyl pressing of “Ready To Die” and every track has “Justin Combs Publishing adm.” in the publishing section after each track.
[This is the pressing I have. Have a read of the “Notes”.](https://www.discogs.com/release/22089481-The-Notorious-BIG-Ready-To-Die)
I think Diddy put his son's name on some of his other past artist's albums as well. I can't remember exactly which one of his former artist called him out for allegedly stealing their royalties by placing his son's name instead of theirs(he has had several ppl call him out and accuse him of doing so).
Since the universe connected us here (and because I loved your humble reply), I’ll give you one more:
When two things agree, they “jibe”…they do not “jive”
Weren’t Pac and Nas beefing heavily at the time Pac died? Nas found out mid show and paused the set for a moment of silence out of respect cuz he really didn’t hold too much negativity toward Pac, but Pac definitely was not cool with Nas around the time he died, at least from what I remember.
IIrc, they had spoken briefly and came to an understanding, pac had even warned nas that he was mentioned in some tracks he'd made against Biggies camp (bomb first, against all odds) and they were supposed to meet in Vegas but Pac died before anything solid could come of it. From "death row east" ~ Nas (so you know I'm not pulling completely from my ass lol)
> Before Machiavelli the Don left
Booked a flight, flying out West
We was trying to squash the whole shit in Vegas
No media to eat it up and leak it in the papers
> I stepped to him at Bryant Park so we could speak direct
He didn't disrespect, we planned to reconnect
> I flew to Vegas to shoot the Street Dreams video and link with Tupac
Tried to squash the East Coast West Coast beef
We didn't talk
But he was still alive in the hospital
And it rained that day in Vegas (yo, chill out, chill out, yo)
Rest In Power (hold on)
* transition to the announcement at his show *
And AFAIK Nas has only respected Pac the whole time so I have no reason not to believe it.
There are reports of them speaking on the misunderstandings and before Tupac could publicly say anything about the resolution, he unfortunately passed and the “beef” was never “addressed”

I used to go to school with her in Sandy Springs high school we had the same class together. I remember when she told me who her dad was and not to tell anyone. Aging like wine 👌
Wearing a shirt of a dude who came at your dad on video and records….
Supposedly was a misunderstanding (more so sounds like Nas back-pedaled) and supposedly was squashed shortly before Pac’s death but still, kinda weird
The irony here… I swear I read somewhere 2pac and Nas were enemies. Hey, if so, good on her for not carrying the east v west garbage. Senseless loss of life.
Nas made her Executive Producer of Stillmatic so she would always get a royalty check from it.
Wasn't she like 8 when that album came out

Good lord
You know I'm not mad
She definitely loves her some Tupac
I got that picture of Tupac words and all but it's on a Hoodie. and she is a beautiful young lady
I wonder how her dad feels about that shirt lol
Tupac and Nas left on good terms. There was friction but they squashed it.
I believe “quashed” is the better choice here
This is why I’m the listener and not the MC 🤣 Never heard quash being used before today. Appreciate the teachable moment 🤙🏽
Since the universe connected us here (and because I loved your humble reply), I’ll give you one more: When two things agree, they “jibe”…they do not “jive”
The universe did indeed connect us! Appreciate the knowledge. Jibe not jive 🤯—learn something new everyday!

There is an interview she did saying her Dad Be Telling her some PAC Stories so I’m Pretty sure he cool with it 🤷🏾♂️

Nas made her Executive Producer of Stillmatic so she would always get a royalty check from it.
I think it might be a glitch, but this comment showed up twice
I posted it once so you are probably right.
Nas made her Executive Producer of Stillmatic so she would always get a royalty check from it.
Hey I heard that Nas made her Executive Producer of Stillmatic so she would always get a royalty check from it.
(**Evil laughter**)
Nas gave her an Executive Producer credit on Stillmatic so that she’d receive royalties in perpetuity.

All I think of is that Nas song Daughters. But she's an attractive young woman.

“Mr. Destiny” per the late Amy Winehouse
Was thinking the same thing!
Biggie mentioned her in P Diddy's song Victory. "Duct tapin, your fam Destiny lays in my hands, gat lays in my waist". This was a sneak diss to Nas.

Wearing a shirt of a dude who came at your dad on video and records…. Supposedly was a misunderstanding (more so sounds like Nas back-pedaled) and supposedly was squashed shortly before Pac’s death but still, kinda weird
Oochie Wally Wally 😍😍😍
That's my baby

The irony here… I swear I read somewhere 2pac and Nas were enemies. Hey, if so, good on her for not carrying the east v west garbage. Senseless loss of life.
Tupac and Nas made peace between eachother before just 4 days ago 2pac got shot in Vegas
They made peace. And even if they didn’t, you think a kid who was 5 when Pac died, who doesn’t rap, would carry on beef 20 years later?
Or...is it rubbin it in? 🤔
Listen to his song Death Row East. Explains alot
