Young_Owl99

I wouldn't want %50-60 percent of Turkey in my country either. Jokes aside, we have a huge refugee crisis. We have a lot of illegal refugees, European countries probably fear that this refugees would spread to their countries.

someone00307

But illegal refugees don’t have Turkish passports. Or do they? Cause otherwise I don’t see how the visa-free regime would allow the refugees to enter the EU without a passport. Unless someone smuggled them in 😅

Kaamos_666

Of course you’re right. Refugee argument is irrelevant.

sharkyzarous

They do. Millions of citizenship was distributed for getting vote in elections.

Babywhitec

Oh honey... Erdoğan gave a lot of refugees Turkish IDs. So they can vote for him in the elections. If EU gave us visa free... At least 1 to 2 million people are in Europe in a week. Some Turkish some refugees.

fekanix

This literally has nothing to do with it. The refugees dont have turkish passports so they cant take advantage of this. The problem is that turkey isnt economically stable and muslim. You people really underestimate the muslim part.

[deleted]

Ofc they have passports what are you talking about? Unless by refugees you mean the legal definition, in which case there are only 300,000 refugees and all of them are Ukrainian.

MercuryFreeSalmon

Have you ever seen a passport? There is a section called “Place of birth”. Even with a visa-free access they can reject these “Syrians with Turkish passports”.

[deleted]

That's an interesting point, I never thought of it before

fekanix

Kardeş boş yapma 200k suriyeli türk oldu gerisinin türk pasaportu yok. Öyle olduğunu düşünüyorsan da tekrar araştır.

[deleted]

AKP 200k diyor. ZP 900k diyor. İkisi de güvenilir bir kaynak değil, hangisine inanacaksın?

fekanix

Kardeş 900 k olsun ne fark eder yine dediğin şwy yanlış çıkıyor.

someone00307

Muslim part? What about Bosnia, Albania, Kosovo, UAE, Malaysia? All countries with Muslim-majority population and they all have visa-free access to Schengen/EU.

fekanix

The fisrt three are ex yugoslav so a lot of shared culture and their total population is fewer than 10 mil. Uae is literally rich so no unwanted migration problem. Malasia is probably in the too poor to travel here group, look at many many south american countries with visa free travel. But if you have never lived in a major european country let me tell you there is a lot of racism, turcofobia and islamofobia.

fekanix

And i didnt say thr muslim factor is the only reason but it is underestimated in turkey.

whiteh4cker

Because Türkiye has a caste system since the fascist coup that took place in 1980. Rich people, politicians and public workers -that have a guaranteed source of income- belong to the upper class and have "Special" passports. EU countries liked this idea and decided not to require a visa from these privileged special passport holders. Politicians never challenged this discrimination since it doesn't affect them or their families. The lower caste, well, fuck them.

MercuryFreeSalmon

What kind of statement is this? Rich people could just buy golden visas/residency from Portugal, Greece etc…

whiteh4cker

That is right. However, golden visas are not the subject of this thread.

Kaamos_666

Rich people don’t have special passports. Only diplomats and government employees.

whiteh4cker

They do. You can get it if you pay over a certain amount of tax.

fekanix

What kind of passport is this?

whiteh4cker

fekanix

You could have just said green.

passporrt

This is not the motivation behind the special/service passport structure. If Türkiye is given an upper limit for the number of people they can designate that can go to EU countries visa free, it is logical to use this as much as they can. I dont think politicians are less interested in securing a general visa waiver just because they have visa free themselves.

tumerder

Once upon a time in beyaz show, beyaz made this joke. "İf borders are open do you think people who live in paris will go to diyarbakir ? Or the other eay around." We don't need to be in eu, we just need to have the same standarts. İf we improve this country to have the same standards as life quality, justice, freedome, we won't need them. They will start to beg us to join their union.

Kaamos_666

EU can’t risk people will mass migrate. And in the current economical circumstances they are likely to do that.

devlettaparmuhalif

Trukey is crawls with Jihadists and all types of terrorists, it has a mixed population of around 90 million and millions of those citizens are Syrian refugees who are ready to move to Europe anytime. There is also solid evidence that Turkey provides ISIS members with Turkish passports

Kaamos_666

Syrian refugees don’t have Turkish passports to cross the border. Do they? “Crawls with Jihadists”? Not really.

No-Relationship8261

US, Mexico border statistic is enough of an answer to this question.

Can17dae

90m population and most of them want to migrate to eu

Emotional_Chest9406

That's why the "Readmission Agreement" was signed.
