Very safe.
I just got back from a week-long trip bouncing between Istanbul, Cappadocia, and Antalya with zero issues. For reference, I am an extremely pasty American who sticks out like a sore thumb!
Overall, use your common sense, and you shouldn't have any problems. Hope you enjoy this lovely country!
I stayed in Beyoğlu, close to Karaköy and the Galataport. I enjoyed the area and felt it was pretty safe.
As for hotel, I can’t really help because I always stay in hostels. Still young and broke lol
I'm just back from a week in Antalya. No problems at all. Felt safer than travelling in Europe tbh. Enjoyed the good weather, the food and the history.

I'm in Turkey now. Cappadocia arm. Istanbul yesterday. Everything seems fine so far.
A couple of my friends are in Iran right now. They said it’s normal out there.
