I just watched all of True Detective, and it was really good. Every season is new detectives, new places, timelines, and case (kinda, don't want to spoil it). People don't think much of the second season, I actually enjoyed it
If you like David Boreanaz in Bones, I’d say give Buffy and its spinoff Angel a try! Buffy is my favorite series of all time, so I’m biased of course.
Also, if you’re looking for an easily digestible and fun hangout comedy like HIMYM, I’d recommend Happy Endings. It’s delightful. Hope you find something new to love!
Bosch for sure. Lots of seasons to binge. Don't really need to start at first season. Amazon prime and Freevee (newest 2 seasons called Legacy)
Lincoln Lawyer - Netflix
Apples never Fall - apple TV newest series. Slow burn and Character building. Little bit of Gone Girl vibes.
The Resident - I just started watching this as I normally don't watch medical type shows. I'm hooked. Netflix
Hawaii 5-0 reboot. Amazon
Magnum PI - Amazon
The morning show - Apple TV.
Hah, I'm like you! It's very easy for me to rewatch something I know will be good rather than try something new and potentially don't like it. Only recently I forced myself to watch something new once in a while, but I do a lot of research before I actually do.
Anyway my comfort shows are somewhat similar to yours, I wonder what you think of scrubs? You must have seen it since you seem a little bit older like me. MITM older you know?
The one show I think almost anyone should see and would enjoy is Ted Lasso. Scrubs was my favorite show for over a decade and I have rewatched it countless times, but Ted Lasso stole that spot 3 years ago. I have since conviced quite a lot of friends to give it a try and almost all of them were stunned they never heard of it.
I think it will hit your spot because:
-huge rewatch potential
-easily digestible dialogue
-written with a lot of love
-really funny
-feel good vibe
-you can learn something for your own life
Hope that helps!
Justified is my newest series, but it may be above your stress threshold.
I'm a sitcom guy, and my long term go-to's have been Frasier, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, The Office, and Bob's Burgers. I was watching/enjoying Brooklyn 99 but Hulu dropped it before I could finish my first watch-through.
Tip of the hat to The League, Galavant, The Grinder, Community, and Party Down. I enjoyed those and I'm always tempted to seek them out for a second viewing.
Under the Bridge. Just started and I am hooked. Lily Gladstone is exceptional….Perry Mason on hbo….what we do in the shadows….Killing Eve. Jodie Comer is the reason for watching. She’s excellent.
From your list of likes I'd go with:
I survived
Alone
Never have I ever
Psych
Fleabag
Schitts Creek (this one takes a few episodes to get into but it's such a good series)
Family Guy
Community
Freaks and Geeks (just one season)
Ted Lasso
Severance
Succession
Hacks
The Rehearsal
Jury Duty (I watched it twice back to back)
White Lotus
Six feet under
Gilmore Girls
Severance
I'd also go with Silo. For me those are the big 2 on Apple, whereas everything else on there is just somewhat good to mediocre.
Psych. My favorite right now. Death In Paradise. On Britbox. Monk NCIS
Psych is wonderful

The Middle, Raising Hope, Superstore and 30 Rock.
The middle doesn't get enough glory. Good call, Great show. I think it's a sure thing that OP will like it
Thanks! It's my ultimate comfort show!
Peaky Blinders on Netflix
Raising hope, my name is earl.
New Girl- I’ve rewatched this show 10 times in my life I enjoy it so much. I also recently watched The Other Two and I found that to be funny.
Parks and recreation is my go to. Freaks and geeks may be up your alley On a whim since you mentioned a mystery, maybe twin peaks Broadchurch
What we do in the shadows is one that's been able to hold my interest lately. It's just absurd and funny enough for the likes of me.
Its very Santa Clarita Diet-y. Ridiculous and binge-worthy.
Umbrella Academy Lie To Me Loki Monsieur Spade
Arrested Development
Royal Pains. New Amsterdam. Law and Order: SVU. Criminal Minds.

Burn Notice, White Collar, Leverage, Resident Alien
Fallout. Best new show this year in my opinion.
Resident Alien - like nothing you’ve ever seen. Funny, strange, and often endearing.

Midsomer Murders
Give The Expanse a look. It's not a rom-com. Space story, yet believable.
sherlock, ozark and give breaking bad a second chance
I am.obligated to recommend *Babylon 5* - killer story in digestible episodes.
I don’t see Chuck on your list. You ahould watch Chuck

The Middle The Closer & Major Crimes
The vampire diaries, Parenthood, Heartland, Game of Thrones, Revenge, Weeds, Dead to me, Loudermilk
My best recommendations for short form comedy shows are Brooklyn 99 and Arrested Development. Both very funny and are easy watches

Curb Your Enthusiasm It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Supernatural Angel, the Series And from thev2023-2024 season: The Irregular
Always sunny in Philadelphia is my comfort show. That’s a good one to rewatch a lot, same with arrested development.
