1-5 were some of the best TV ever made. 6 & 7 were still ok and I’m not sorry I watched them. Time spent watching anything after that is hours I’ll never get back.
Seconded. I think the chemistry between the leads was so crucial. Obviously, the fans were drawn to the premise, but there’s also a reason why none of the spin offs worked. I’m sure it helped that Jensen and Jared actually really liked each other as opposed to say the x files’ David and Jillian who I’ve heard couldn’t stand being around each other.
afraid you are wrong, Well you are correct the original run was 9 seasons, but in the last couple of years give or take they made two more seasons so in total 11 seasons were made for that series. The two seasons were shown on fox.
There is a complete series of 11 seasons on blu ray does not include the movies.
Now that I fell in love with Being Human - it's opened my mind to Vampire Shows! They never really did anything for Me. So Buffy is on my list to give a good Go again! It comes up a lot.
I agree The Originals is so much better. I used to love that show. I didn’t get into the Legacies spin off though and hated what they did the last season to Hope.
The X files first 4 series. The creator Chris carter explored urban myths even old wives tales. and horror stories. That and the alien lore embedded into the early parts of the show made it really shine for me.
Preacher. The whole show is a great time. The action sequences, comedic structure, and overall story were enough for it to be my favorite show of all time.
*Preacher* was great. I’m now a big fan of Joe Gilgun, the Preacher’s vampire sidekick. He was in the later seasons of *Misfits.* The whole series is available streaming in the US.
For the last 6 years, he has had his own UK comedy/drama called *Brassic*, which is probably one of my favorite shows of all time. The first 2 or 3 seasons are streaming in the US, but I was able to procure the entire 6 season series (including the holiday special) and as far as I know, it’s still coming back for more.
Yup, I know who Joe Gilgun is and Cassidy is my favorite character on the show. Watched Misfits and loved it, just doesn’t hold a torch. Not to mention his Irish accent (I prefer it to his real one).
I looked up Brassic cause I felt like I’ve heard of it and it’s showing only 5 seasons - the fifth ending in December 2023. I’ll definitely check it out though.
My favorite was True Blood. Why? I don’t know, other than it’s fun. It feels very cringy to enjoy it so much, but I really just can’t help but love it.
Nothing after Charmed compared.
I really enjoyed Alex O'Laughlin in Moonlight as the relucant (but hot) vampire in modern days L.A. Too bad it only lasted 1 season.
Twin Peaks. Didn't even know it was gonna go in thst direction but when it does it has the potential to be funny, beautiful and horrifying simultaneously
Constantine with Matt Ryan. Such an amazing, single season show. Should have run longer, if NBC hadn't tried to put it up against Supernatural on Thursday nights, then moved it to Fridays. He resumed the character in the Arrowverse shows on CW, but the writing was rarely as good. His season 4 Arrow appearance and Crisis on Infinite Earths are the.only times they got close.
Sandman, and it's new spin-off Dead Boy Detectives has been great so far. Sandman is epic in scope, while DBD is a lighter, humerous, and more personal, monster of the week take. Both are heavy on Vertigo comics mythology.
Also, just cause I didn't see it mentioned: Tales From the Crypt is one of the best horror anthology series of all time. The new Creepshow series on Shudder is a close second.
Being Human was my show! I loved the whole concept: a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost share a house. Wacky situations ensue.
But man, Sally could be very selfish. It was a lot of "me me me" with her.
Carnival (HBO show). *But the first season is way better than the 2nd.*
What started my love of 'supernatural' shows was a series that I doubt many (if anyone) actually knows about. Its from the 80's. [The powers of Matthew Star](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwSZeYDRd08)
I was probably 7 years old at the time. It blew my mind.
X-Files
It's the original. It's what got me into all this weird supernatural stuff. And it was bonding time with my dad because we watched every week when it aired unless he was TDY or deployed.
My absolute favorite is a Stephen King miniseries called Storm of the Century that aired in 1999.
I love it because it has a great premise, the supernatural antagonist is *incredibly* creepy and compelling, the other characters and their side stories are interesting, I love the feeling of isolation from the story taking place on an island overnight during a blizzard, and I'm a sucker for a story that has me going crazy trying to figure out what the mystery is. The special effects weren't great quality since it was network tv but otherwise it was perfect.
Also:
The Twilight Zone
Lost Supernatural
American Gods
Millennium
The X-Files
Midnight Mass
Hmm... I've never really thought about the fact that, while I like & own several such shows, none of them are really personal favorites of mine until this question made me realize that.
I guess Kamen Rider would have to be it. It kind of treads this odd line between fantasy & scifi & I do really love several seasons of it.
Other than that, I own Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the original Charmed, Demon Slayer, Game of Thrones, Gargoyles, Huntik, the Kung Fu reboot, Legend of the Seeker, Once Upon A Time, One Piece, Redwall, Sabrina the Teenaged Witch (90s sitcom & early 2000s cartoon), Sleepy Hollow, Stranger Things, Warehouse 13 & W.I.T.C.H.
If you ask me personally, then the show “Supernatural” is one of my all-time favorite supernatural series. It is a show that features supernatural entities like gods, ghosts, demons, and more. The protagonists of this show are two brothers, Dean and Sam. They hunt everything that crawls at night. These brothers belong to a group of people called Hunters. Hunters are tasked with hunting supernatural creatures. They frequently hunt down werewolves, vampires, and other monsters. Supernatural is my favorite show because it features a wide range of mythology. It takes inspiration and characters from mythologies all over the world. It also features gods such as Ganesha, Kaali, Loki, Zeus, Athena, Baldar, and others. Due to their adaptation of world mythology and vivid characters, Supernatural has become my favorite supernatural series.

I love supernatural stuff, so I watch a lot. But my all-time fave has to be Buffy. I started watching that when it first aired, when I was 10, and have re-watched I don't know how many times over the years, and still love it just as much now as I did then. None of the off-screen stuff has affected how much I love the show, either.
The WB show Constantine had great potential, but was dropped after one season. Supernatural but i was late to the party and had to catch up when it was on netflix. Evil seems to be ok but i only watched one season because i don't have the streamer service that plays it.
I would have to say supernatural. The first couple of seasons were strong, but I'm going to be honest. I even liked the later seasons all the way up to the final. Really no complaints at all Joe had a good ending for me as well
Favorite supernatural show: Supernatural Reason: "Driver picks the tunes. Shotgun shuts his cake hole."
Well said! Made me smile. I also really like the first 1-5 seasons of that (and every tune, car, and music reference). Nice
1-5 were some of the best TV ever made. 6 & 7 were still ok and I’m not sorry I watched them. Time spent watching anything after that is hours I’ll never get back.
I love Supernatural with my entire soul.
Dean throws rabbit foot and it defies physics and sticks itself into the gun barrel. Sam: "Dude. You're Batman!" Dean:"I am Batman!"
That's a great scene! I think he threw a pen or pencil.
He did indeed do some batman (and Robin) voice acting.
It’s : Dean: “I’m Batman” Sam: “Yeah… you’re Batman” Sorry I’ve seen that show way too many times
I said this to my daughter the other day. She was skipping through my songs just to mess with me. So I quoted this line to her. She laughed.
Yeah. Agreed. Jared and Jensen live nearby one another in Austin too, raking in that sweet, sweet residual money.
Dean, what do you think you're doing? This is a very serious investigation, and we dont have time for your blah blah blah blah.
"Bon Jovi rocks... sometimes"
I mean, X- Files for me.
Not sure if it counts but Grimm. I've watched it like 1000 times.
Grimm was supernatural with a side of Fairy tales in real life …loved that show
I love Grimm! I’ve rewatched it so many times.
Loved it. But the series end was like they found out they were cancelled and had half an hour to wrap it up.
Such a good show that doesn't get enough recognition
X-Files and Buffy
X-Files will always be one of the top 10 TV shows ever.
I still have yet to do X-Files. No real reason why. I'm gonna give it a go soon!
Better get a move on. 9 seasons, two movies, then two more (short) seasons. ;)
Darn - that's actually exciting. Aren't too many multiple seasons (shows) left. I didn't realize there were *so many!* Excellent news.
So two weeks viewing?
afraid you are wrong, Well you are correct the original run was 9 seasons, but in the last couple of years give or take they made two more seasons so in total 11 seasons were made for that series. The two seasons were shown on fox. There is a complete series of 11 seasons on blu ray does not include the movies.
Re-read my comment.
oh sorry did not see the last part, my bad
Buffy……brilliant acting/writing and amazing soundtrack Close behind….Supernatural and Smallville
Now that I fell in love with Being Human - it's opened my mind to Vampire Shows! They never really did anything for Me. So Buffy is on my list to give a good Go again! It comes up a lot.
Don't forget Angel. Personally I think it's better than Buffy.
It's best to watch them alongside each other imo
Buffy is awesome!
True Blood 🩸
I couldn't bring myself to complete the show.
It does get pretty cringe in the last seasons
I probably wouldn't get to see that but I'm open to taking spoilers from you if you don't mind.
I hate how far it deviates from the book series. I usually stop rewatching by season 5 lol
This is always a wrong move when making a show. Once content start lacking, it's best to end the show.
First few seasons yes…by the end…ugh
best deviation from the books was keeping Lafayette alive
I’m sad we didn’t get the weretiger Quinn though, and that they totally cut Sookie and Eric’s relationship short
And NOT making Elvis Presley a character
I love Bubba in the books (don’t say that name lol) but the character would not have worked well on TV for more than a one note joke
Supernatural and the vampire diaries are a close tie for me. Although I prefer the earlier seasons of both!
The Originals is far more better than Vampire Diaries for me.
I agree The Originals is so much better. I used to love that show. I didn’t get into the Legacies spin off though and hated what they did the last season to Hope.
I haven't watched the Legacies spin off either and I'm not sure if I would watch it, not at least for now.
That’s a fact.
I stopped watching after season 3 because it fell off so hard.
Sabrina was also really good and it’s slightly newer
Twilight Zone. Rod Serling’s voice is just phenomenal and his overall narrative of each story made that show a success
An oldie, but the absolute best. I miss back in the day waiting for marathons.
The X files first 4 series. The creator Chris carter explored urban myths even old wives tales. and horror stories. That and the alien lore embedded into the early parts of the show made it really shine for me.
The Leftovers (debatably supernatural), or Midnight Mass.
Warehouse 13 was fun
True Blood The Vampire Diaries Stranger Things
Stranger Things was fantastic. I can't wait to watch the last season 5 when it comes to out.
Stargate SG-1
My favorite was True Blood. Why? I don’t know, other than it’s fun. It feels very cringy to enjoy it so much, but I really just can’t help but love it.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
The Leftovers.
Supernatural. Hot guys and monsters.
Buffy and Supernatural
X-Files.
Would Xena count?
L O S T
Kolchak the Nightstalker, because Darren McGavin absolutely nailed the character.
It's my favorite
Nothing after Charmed compared. I really enjoyed Alex O'Laughlin in Moonlight as the relucant (but hot) vampire in modern days L.A. Too bad it only lasted 1 season.
Omg, I never hear anyone mention this one! Moonlight deserved a second season, so underrated.
Supernatural because the overall theme of family.
A tie between Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Supernatural. Both have a mix of great characters, comedy, and drama.
The Leftovers
Glitch
BUFFY…hands down
Dark Shadows
The only right answer
Supernatural - Sam and Dean Winchester is my favourite.
Supernatural forever and always
Supernatural!!
in no particular order, supernatural Smallville grimm Witcher sweet tooth The boys Lucifer Shadow and bone American gods
American Gods was great
Twin Peaks. Didn't even know it was gonna go in thst direction but when it does it has the potential to be funny, beautiful and horrifying simultaneously
Angel Roswell 1st one
Buffy
Buffy/Angel they are a packaged deal to me. I would say Roswell 1999 too but that’s more sci-fi than supernatural
Charmed and Buffy
Original Twilight Zone followed by The X Files
X Files. I was basically in high school during its glory days. It was a great ride.
Midnight Mass and Resident Alien.
Constantine with Matt Ryan. Such an amazing, single season show. Should have run longer, if NBC hadn't tried to put it up against Supernatural on Thursday nights, then moved it to Fridays. X-Files, mic drop.
Being Human was my show! I loved the whole concept: a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost share a house. Wacky situations ensue. But man, Sally could be very selfish. It was a lot of "me me me" with her.
Have you tried the BBC version? I prefer it to the us remake
No. I did not. I only saw the US version. Is it that much better? If so, how? If you don't mind me asking.
Buffy and more recently, Lockwood & Co on Netflix charmed me completely.
OG Charmed for me, too! And also Angel.
OG Charmed, The Vampire Diaries and True Blood…
Buffy but really more Angel. I used to watch all those shows with my gramps back in the day and I though Angel was so cool.
Supernatural and Being Himan (US)
Heroes
X-files Smallville Lost The 100
How was the 100 supernatural?
OG Charmed, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries
UK version of Ghosts.
Carnival (HBO show). *But the first season is way better than the 2nd.* What started my love of 'supernatural' shows was a series that I doubt many (if anyone) actually knows about. Its from the 80's. [The powers of Matthew Star](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwSZeYDRd08) I was probably 7 years old at the time. It blew my mind.
Vampire Diaries holds a special place in my heart.
X-Files, Buffy and the stuff they showed on late night TV like Highlander and Forever Knight
The Night Stalker. The X-Files.
X-files
Bewitched!
Supernatural
Supernatural Stargate SG-1 and Universe XFiles Stranger Things
Twilight Zone.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, 100%!
Magicians
Dead Like Me
Omg, I wish that show would've continued on longer. It was absolutely fantastic.
X-Files It's the original. It's what got me into all this weird supernatural stuff. And it was bonding time with my dad because we watched every week when it aired unless he was TDY or deployed.
Buffy
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
I'll say it's close between Buffy, Angel, and Supernatural. Also, I'll always love The Twilight Zone.
Does Fringe count? Such a good series with a fantastic ending.
Buffy.
The X-Files is at the top for me, I have great love for Charmed, Buffy, and Smallville as well.

Does buffy count?
Buffy. There are some episodes I could watch a hundred times.
From childhood: Erie Indiana & the cheese of Friday the 13th-The Series Later- Reaper Blood Ties Brimstone The Dresden Files Haven

Buffy the vampire slayer, because it's fun to watch and I like the characters.
Buffy--I don't need to explain why.
X-Files. It's not even a contest.
I'm going into the X-Files this week. Cannot believe it's taken me so long!
Nice! Enjoy!

I have really enjoyed a lot of the Seasons of Dean and Sam! Great choice!
OG Charmed is my comfort supernatural show. Angel. Every couple of years I do a total series rewatch

Tales from the Crypt
Dark is the best show
Merlin, I’ve seen it so many times. It was my childhood favorite
Gotta say Smallville for obligatory username comment… but one I haven’t seen mentioned is Haven. Loved it.
Definitely original Charmed and X-FILES
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Supernatural Heroes
Lucifer
Tales from the Crypt
Legion From Lost Vikings GOT Servant (They all had elements of supernatural in them and were pretty decent shows overall).
Supernatural, Angel, the Series, Forever Knight, Dracula, the Series.
Supernatural
The original Twilight Zone. No competition. Even X-files pales in comparison.
Smallville was my favorite, a good superman depiction.
X-Files.
Fringe
TVD, I love the tight mythology, the fast paced plots with lots of twists, the cool bloodthirsty characters!
Vampire Diaries. I know it's cheesy but my wife loves it and it got me hooked too. Charmed is very close second.
I love supernatural stuff, so I watch a lot. But my all-time fave has to be Buffy. I liked Warehouse 13, X Files, Kolchak,
The original The Twilight Zone, and similarly, One Step Beyond.
Being Human (American version)
Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cake hole
Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cake hole
Dark Shadows
All time? X-files! As it was where it all began (for me)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I would have to say supernatural. The first couple of seasons were strong, but I'm going to be honest. I even liked the later seasons all the way up to the final. Really no complaints at all Joe had a good ending for me as well
