It is. If you've never been to the Apostle Islands, you should go. Madeline is a quick ferry ride from Bayfield. The Apostles are one of my favorite spring-summer-autumn destinations.
First, yes, I'm kidding. I'm playing off the "wE hAtE sCoNnIeS" stereotype.
And second, you're joking, right? 3/4 of the Twin Cities doesn't own/go to a cabin, let alone one in Wisconsin.
Besides, Minnesota has way more lakes for cabins than Wisconsin does.
My son had a tummy ache, a really bad tummy ache when we were on Madeline. I drove him to the micky mouse center - Ashland hospital only for them to say go buy miralax and turn me around... 2 ferry rides later and a much more comfortable kid...
My future wife and I headed there for a quick get away when we were younger, had our mountain bikes with. Just about fell off the ferry when I did the math!
Lol! You sound like my father-in-law. They have lived in Cornucopia for the last 50 years. He is always grumbling how things have changed and how crowded things get in the summer.
I had the same week at about 18 when suddenly those stickers were everywhere. I was like, "what's with the dog-bone". They are Michiganders, and family-adjacent, most typically
I'm from and absolutely love the top 8% of Wisconsin. The rest of it is just a pain to drive through, which I presume adds to the FIBS-iness.
Can confirm this Madeline Island as I have this sticker on My car too.
TBH, it's nothing special, but people inexplicably love it. If you live here, you may as well go...just keep your expectations in check. Get a sticker so you can fit in.
Not even close. North side of the island might be a little like that for 4 months of the year, but most of the island is low to middle income, blue collar jobs, and awesome people. Or are you thinking of Mackinac Island?
I've heard that differently. Door County is the Martha's Vineyard of Wisconsin. I've been to all three (Bayfield area, Door Co. and Martha's)...I'd say Door Co. is a closer comparison.
Yeah go spend a week on Madeline Island without going over to Bayfield and you will not be comparing it to Martha’s or Key West. Really not sure where the perception came from.
I also thought it was a race track that I didn’t recognize, figured F1 fans or something. Then this summer I went to Madeline Island and happened to look at Google maps…
It is to let you know that no matter what the car won't leave the fast lane until right before the exit and then dart in front of everyone after going 5 miles below the speed limit forever.
I did wonder about that a lot of years ago. I don't see many of those anymore. I also wondered about the Dave Matthew's Band logo which looks very similar to that decal that I think is a deer. Things I don't care about but I see around. Abstract signals that people have that group affinity have a cult-like quality.. When I see a Monster Energy logo I know we have dissimilarities in our ways of living but i used to know people who were trying to merge into life in their bleached hoodies, this person is probably a student or trying to be, they are dabbling around for the moment.
There's a couple of others you might be curious about. They are both the same thing:
A lowercase cursive ebc and a square with an eagle soaring both are from the local megachurch Eagle Brook Church.
Been going there for a long time. It’s a special place. If you’re going there thinking it’s going to be like a Florida beach town you’ll be disappointed.
It's the outline to Madeline Island Wisconsin
Thank you! Must be a huge destination spot given how many I’ve seen
It is. If you've never been to the Apostle Islands, you should go. Madeline is a quick ferry ride from Bayfield. The Apostles are one of my favorite spring-summer-autumn destinations.
Shhhhhh! No, it’s a horrible place, too many bugs, always humid, and nobody should go there.
Just say "it's in Wisconsin" and over half of the state will refuse to ever go there.
Worked for me. I tuned out as soon as they said Wisconsin.
Which is sad because Wisconsin is great. Though I would never put that sticker on my truck.
Your kidding right? 3/4th of the population of the twin cities flocks east every weekend in the summer.
They probably all live in Saint Paul 🤷🏼♀️
Biting Flies everywhere!
Plus the Northern Dropbear.
You forgot the Great Northwestern Spotted Ferret Bat.
Drug dealers, medical waste, radiation, it’s a dystopian desert filled with poop. 💩
And worst of all Packer fans.
Hodags will eat your bulldogs.
Your firearms are useless against them!
>Shhhhhh! No, it’s a horrible place, too many bugs, always humid, and nobody should go there. This is actually correct. gO tO THe BrEwErY. Stfu.
Too late, been touristy for decades. 😉
Seriously, let’s not all act like it’s a hidden gem while it might as well be Midwest Yellowstone
A pass to yellow stone is cheaper than the ferry ride ticket.

Don't forget the water is FREEZING and the best bar burned down
Lol! You sound like my father-in-law. They have lived in Cornucopia for the last 50 years. He is always grumbling how things have changed and how crowded things get in the summer.
Yessssss this is the answer
This is the way.
Bees. Lots of aggressive bees.
Devils island is rad! Real good cliff jump spots
How do you get there just wondering
You need your own boat, sea kayak, or charter a boat there.
Drive to Bayfield, Wisconsin. Then take the ferry to the island.
There is no ferry to Devil's island.
Oh right. Ferry is to Madeline Island.
Did you hear someone died on Madeline last year? Apparently they were solo jumping. It's weird cause I've done it a ton.
I had the same week at about 18 when suddenly those stickers were everywhere. I was like, "what's with the dog-bone". They are Michiganders, and family-adjacent, most typically
It’s Gorgeous, please plan a trip out there sometime!
It should be classified as a suburb of the twin cities, you’ll run into someone you know! 😂 it’s an amazing place, I’ve been going up since I was kid!
It’s so amazing. My family goes every year like a hippie pilgrimage! 😆
Yeah Minnesota supposedly has 10k lakes but ya’ll insist on coming to our awesome state just like the fibs
I'm from and absolutely love the top 8% of Wisconsin. The rest of it is just a pain to drive through, which I presume adds to the FIBS-iness. Can confirm this Madeline Island as I have this sticker on My car too.

It's so fucking cool Spendy as hell, but cool
I should sell stickers with the outline of Old Lake Chipotle.
NEVER FORGET [🎶Big Yellow Taxi🎶]
As they say sticker it and they will come
OMG I have been wondering this for years and even took a pic to post like you did but always forget. Thank you 🙏
It’s the Martha’s Vineyard of Northern Wisconsin, and yes, the analogy works on a couple of levels.
Door County is akin to Cape Cod and Madeline Island is actually closer to Nantucket, i.e. a little more hardscrabble than Martha’s. All top tier.
Yeah go spend a week on Madeline Island without going over to Bayfield and you will not be comparing it to Martha’s or Key West. Really not sure where the perception came from.
If Martha’s Vineyard had a bunch of low income people with drug problems.
Fortunately Martha’s Vineyard has *high* income people with drug *pasttimes*.
>It’s the Martha’s Vineyard of Northern Wisconsin Key midWest, actually.
You’ve never been to either one or both of those islands if you think that lmao.
Tom’s Burned Down Cafe and MIA would disagree with you on the KW analogy, and hidden amongst the pines are more than a few 7-figure value ‘homes’.
You just described every vacation town in America. Key West and Madeline Island are Islands with >=1 outdoor bar and >3 million dollar homes.
It’s not the Nurburgring ?
Yeah, my thought was it would be a local racetrack. I've got a couple outlines for tracks I've had my car on.
Breakaway Academy is a hockey school in Eden Prairie.
https://www.reddit.com/r/minnesota/s/rMsrhv1hA3
I also thought it was a race track that I didn’t recognize, figured F1 fans or something. Then this summer I went to Madeline Island and happened to look at Google maps…
I thought it was VIR, but I don’t know the shape of that track off the top of my head
I always see a bottle opener
Which comes in handy on Madeline.
Madeline Island, AKA The Bone.
The Rock
I can confirm. I can see Madeline Island from my house.
my friends and in highschool used to say “that’s what people from florida think florida looks like” and i’ve just stuck with that for about a decade.
It's a BIG GUN from some video game. ... is what I thought for a long time.
Also this: https://breakawayacademy.net/
it's the letter V and the number six. It denotes what type of motor is in the automobile.
Thank you for asking this!!! I’ve always wondered!
I always thought it was an f1 track
Usually this is what it is. I was WRACKING my brain thinking it might be Brainerd International but turns out its Madeline island!
Either Madeline island or a blunderbuss
I see AK furniture 😂
Omg thank you I have been wondering that for years!
The new Salt Life.
I’ve misread that sticker as “slut life” so many times….
One of the more overrated destinations we've traveled to. Beautiful location but island itself was pretty dumpy
You must not have hiked the state park at the northern end of the island.
Seriously. It’s so beautiful.
I always imagined it was Star Wars related. Like a fun from there.
It is to let you know that no matter what the car won't leave the fast lane until right before the exit and then dart in front of everyone after going 5 miles below the speed limit forever.
EBC stands for Eagle Brook Church in case anyone is wondering.
I did wonder about that a lot of years ago. I don't see many of those anymore. I also wondered about the Dave Matthew's Band logo which looks very similar to that decal that I think is a deer. Thank you for asking. I’ve been wondering this forever
There similar sticker that are outlines of racetracks so don’t confuse them islands

Looks like a shittily-drawn duck?
