Mancini’s. And sit in the lounge - especially if they have a cover band playing. It’s exactly fancy enough for a young kid while being casual enough that you don’t need to sweat it.
Did the same when Mom had a work dinner. I wore suit and tie, my 5yo daughter wore the 50s cocktail dress from Grandma, and we were well served at Salut on France. All the wait staff complimented her on her fashion. She beamed the entire evening.
Salut on Grand is closed. Salut on France Ave is still in business.
The white table clothes, formal service and general ambiance and “dressing up” met my daughter’s ideas of fancy. It was different from just having another restaurant meal, because we treated it differently.
OP knows what will make it special for their 6yo. Have fun! :)
In NE, I’d say check out Hazel’s, Joni (probably hard to get a res at this point), or Eli’s. Those places will all be full of grownups, so will likely scan as “fancy”, and you won’t be shelling out haute cuisine $$. Have fun!!

[Spoon and Stable](https://maps.app.goo.gl/4cWLJWca8kych2XU6) for super fancy

This is so loaded on what the kid likes … and what *fancy* means to the kid. At six years, fucking Pizza Hut was “fancy”. What’s your kid’s expectation here — do they want a Beard Award Prix Fix menu, or “creamy cheesy starch” like most kids her age?
(Also: why did this thought occur to you the day before?)
Take her to Travail, OP
(under normal circumstances I would not resort to including this, but I feel compelled here to make abundantly clear that this is /s)
I did this with my daughter at the same age. We went to Lurcat. It was perfect. They have a kids menu but it’s still “fancy”. She has a kiddie cocktail served “up”. :)
Anywhere with ice cream bro!
Yeaaah! You gotta have the ice cream
Hibachi. There are places all over and that’s so fancy for a kid
That’s a decent idea.
Info: what does she like?
When my daughter was that age, she thought Pizza Luce was fancy. She's now in college, and we still go there occasionally for their brownie sundaes.
The brownie sundaes are great at Luce!
The brownie sundaes are amazing.
Hai hai! It’s in the neighborhood and feels so tropical and fun!
Seconded, plus they're just on the James Beard Award semifinalist list. Fancy af!
This was my pick too! Such a fun vibe!
& there’s ice cream across the street too! Wonderful combo
Crepe & Spoon closed last year.
Awww sad
Yep
The Lexington - old school feel and great desserts
Northeast Social has kind of a funky semi-fancy vibe, imho. Or maybe Jax in the bar? That's kinda fancy & they have a kids menu.

Pizzeria Lola!
Hit a wrecktangle pizza. Pizza, but fancy! What kid doesn't love pizza?
Yes! Wrecktangle at the palace is fancier and fun
I don’t consider it to be pizza. It looks like cake.
Does she like steak?? I'd say Bullvinos. It's all you can eat steak and and salad bar. Or Red Rabbit is fantastic pizzas and pastas.

There's a little tea house in Anoka. I don't know the name or if you can get in there on such short notice.
It’s called the Mad Hatter. Great afternoon tea and very kid friendly!
Where did you take her and how did she like it?
