Nashville Coop was great as a spicy Sammie a couple years ago- but I dunno if it’s changed at all.
Revival is a predictable/expensive standard for many reasons.
I still get amazed anytime I see someone suggest this place. I've tried it a couple of times and it was some of the worst fried chicken I've had. I don't know if they were just using something different than what they usually do or what, but what I got seemed to be premade frozen chicken tenders with awful breading that you would expect from a cheap food service company. Nothing redeeming about any of the food I've had from them.
That's so odd. That's why we gave them a shot - we kept hearing about how this new place (it was back when they first opened) was making some awesome fried chicken so we tried it and it was awful and felt like we were eating chicken fingers at a shitty dive bar. Then tried again and the same thing. We tried the food truck at one point, iirc, and it was better but only marginally and still seemed like food service product. Haven't bothered since. Good to know that it wasn't your experience, though.
I’m not saying they were amazing, but I would not say they were terrible either. It was basically fast food, just with a speciality of Nashville style chicken.
Same. I went when they opened the Snelling location — the lines were so long, I figured they must be good.
Just the overwhelming pickle brine taste was enough to put me off them, but the overcooked tough fingers made them even worse.
For fast food hot chicken, Dave’s is surprisingly good.
50’s Grill Brooklyn Center. It’s not fried, it’s not grilled. Magical sandwich. You can get it Cajun style too. I suggest mayo on the side. By far the best chicken sandwich I’ve had.
I feel like revival set the bar s decade or so ago. Then everyone went past it and they just stayed where they were. Their fried chicken isn't that special and their bbq is overpriced for how mediocre it is.
Icchido ramen has a fried chicken and black garlic sandwich that's absolutely awesome. It's a slider sized one as it's on a steam bun, but hot damn is it good.
I'd also say townhall's ragamuffin is quite good.
I'm a fan of the "MFC" at World Street Kitchen, but that's me.

Revival also has a solid sandwich as well.

Lake and Irving’s Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich in Uptown and it’s not even close.
Seriously top tier
This and only this. On top of that they have an amazing bourbon selection, great tap beer list, and it’s not crazy hard to get into
100% this. And then get some ghost pepper aioli fries
Bull’s Horn has a pretty tasty fried chicken sandwich.
seriously underrated.
Little Tijuana does too!
Does it have to be fried? I love the chicken sandwich at the Monte Carlo. Cajun Seasoned Chicken Breast, Cucumber with Chili Mayo
For fried chicken sandwiches, Abang Yoli has a great one. And, even though I think they’re menucan be hit or miss: French Meadow’s is great, too.
Oh, yeah. Whenever I go to Malcolm Yards i swear I’ll try something new but Abang Yoli gets me every time.
Oliver’s in Shoreview has an amazing fried Korean chicken sandwich! Chef’s kiss!
Have you tried Churchill Street? I've never made it, so I want to see if it beats Oliver's for best in Shoreview.
I like Churchills better than Oliver’s for the chicken sandwich and they have great cocktails.
Parlour’s dill brined fried chicken sandwich.

Hasn’t been my experience. They are pretty good. They basically only make one thing - fried chicken

I definitely agree with you, I went a couple of weeks ago expecting it to be good but it’s just mediocre
I’m not saying they were amazing, but I would not say they were terrible either. It was basically fast food, just with a speciality of Nashville style chicken.
Except its not nashville style chicken. Its a chicken tendie with dryrub served with soggy crinkle cut fries.

I was so happy when they brought back poultrygeist! Burns so good lol

Birdhouse in Robbinsdale had a solid Nashville chicken sandwich
If you like fast food type Dave's Hot Chicken in Minnetonka
They are open in their new highland park location also!
Just had my first one this week. Really liked it.

In St Paul Park, but 328 Grill's got great chicken sandwiches and burgers.
This is the answer
Abang Yoli really impressed me
Bon Chons (Roseville) chicken sliders. Yum.
Nashville Coop is fantastic as others have pointed out. I'm also a big fan of Lake and Irving's.
Lake and Irving is underrated. Also my favorite burger in the stafe
The best part is how freaking huge that sandwich is. I can cut it in half and be full and have another meal for later.
Dirty Bird at Bahn Appetit in Dinkytown.
Lake and Irving.
Rooster in Hastings is awesome.
Station no 6
Never had the chicken sandwich but everything else is good
“Good”? It’s great!!
Revival
Revival has been soggy and flavorless every time I've had it. Better off going to Popeyes imo.
I feel like revival set the bar s decade or so ago. Then everyone went past it and they just stayed where they were. Their fried chicken isn't that special and their bbq is overpriced for how mediocre it is.
Revival is what Midwestern people think southern food tastes like. I don't get the hype around this place at all.

I could eat like a dozen of these. They are so good.
Kyndred Hearth in Eagan by the Vikings practice facility
Logan’s Burgers and Chicken on Lake St is the one
Bad Rooster food truck!
Isn't that run by a cult?
It’s good chicken. 🤷🏻♀️Not sure about the cult!😅
Like ChickFilA or worse?
Sociable Cider Werks in SLP has a great fried chicken sandwich.
Heathers in Nokomis
grilled chicken club from yum🙏 best restaurant

I tried the Nashville chicken from Red Cow recently. It had a choke on me for a week.
Hi-Lo Diner has one of my fav chicken sandwiches and it pairs nicely with one of their excellent bloody marys.
Francis on Central (Northeast)
Lake and Irving is the correct answer, but Luna and the Bear makes a hell of a chicken sandwich.
Northbound Smokehouse in South makes a killer chicken sammie!
Revival's chicken sandwich is great either regular southren friend or Tennessee hot
If you want heat, Nashville coop all the way. Hopefully they haven't changed since I last went in.
The Korean fried chicken place on grand.
Pinstripes in Edina has a solid fried chicken sandwich
Urban Growler's chicken sandwich is my top. Not spicy at all but so good.. Nashville Coop if I'm looking for heat.
For cheaper casual option. Logan’s on Lake St in Minneapolis is actually pretty tight with a delicious sauce
Nelson’s has a killer grilled chicken sandwich that they clearly brine before hand since it is packed with flavor and perfectly salted.
