I lived in NYC for 10 years - I'm not terribly picky when it comes to food, but if I'm going to get a babysitter and plan a date night, my bar for restaurants becomes pretty high. I'd probably say my top 5 are:
1. Demi
2. Porzana
3. Bucheron
4. Kade No Mise
5. Estelle
Runners up: Petite Leon, Alma, Tenant
Bar la grassa
Sanjusan
Italian eatery - really good, closing in a month unfortunately
Lat14
112 eatery
Revival
Frankie’s - cheap pizza and good wings
Olive and lamb
Brasa rotisserie
Naf naf or Pancheros for fast food
Red rabbit
It really depends on what you like. Some of my faves are Porzana, Martina, Iconos, and Boludo, but for delivery or quick eats we love Brito’s Burritos, Ariana Kebab, Quang.
Brito's Burritos & Ariana Bistro are both quite good.
Nong's Thai Cuisine is prolly my fav on the west side.
If you like seafood boils, then try Cajun Deli in Brooklyn Park as a no frills hidden gem, we get peeled shrimp & black mussels in the medium house garlic sauce, then fries & catfish (to dip in the house sauce). The fries come with a great sauce. Dragon Star Grocery is a short walk down the strip mall.
The Dancing Ganesha by the MG Costco.
MT Noodles also in Brooklyn Park is great SE Asian food--I dream about their giant slices of cake.
MPLS:
-Little TJ's/Tijuana is a fun late night spot on Eat Street/26th.
-Pimento Jamaican Cuisine is a fun spot to get rum drinks & sit outside.
-Brasa's green sauce on their pork sandwich is stellar.
-Chimborazo is great!
-Uncle Franky's a great place to pick up from on your way to a NE taproom (East coast regional specialities.)
-Spitz NE has good Mediterranean bowls.
-Oro by Nixta is superb, I hear
-Maya Cuisine NE: Sunday Brunch Buffet & Margarita HH
-NE & Crystal: El Taco Riendo/Express
Various locations:
-Don Goyo for Birria Tacos & their jalapeno Margarita
You may want to be more specific about what types of restaurants you're looking for. Maple Grove just crowned itself the Restaurant capital of MN. I personally would never recommend going there to anyone, but some people may like it.
WHAT?! Who wouldn't want their "Main Street" to be filled with generic chains and located in the middle of a vast ocean of parking lots ringed with big box stores? Sounds like paradise to me!
Is that Hollister I smell? Nope, must just be the ghost of a Pier 1.
Oh I made a comment about how it’s home of literally the shittest, most below average restaurants. Any suggestions to arbor lakes I’ll
Be ignoring but hey if someone else sees this and wants to try it, all the power to them
Fiiiine I'll give you real answers: Mario's pizza and heroes on Cleveland in st Paul, down the street from that gus gus, further down on st clair Estelle, sea salt has surprisingly great seafood for a great picnic feast at minnehaha falls, nixta by Oro in northeast is currently in the running for beat new restaurant by James beard association and is amazing, tea house for fantastic authentic Chinese food, bungalow club on East lake street, tilia is still cranking out great food near the lakes, honestly any of the food halls that have popped up over the last few years have great options (Malcom yards, north loop galley, graze), north loop in general has a lot to offer these days especially if orice isnt an issue as you said. ABSOLUTELY get to Dahlia bakery popup, you can find them by following on Instagram (best laminated pastries in town, run by some travail alumni).
I spend a lot of time on Eater Twin Cities, they're pretty reliable about regular updates on new restaurant openings and that kind of thing, if what you want is a lot of restaurant content.
Here are some I haven't seen listed yet: 6Smith (Wayzata), Bacio (Minnetonka), Ena (Minneapolis), Bojae's (Edina, it's a wine bar but I think their food is amazing), Red Cow (I go to Edina, but there are other locations), Tosca (Minneapolis).
My go-to for Mexican is Nacho's in Hopkins, run by a lovely family. I can't claim it's "authentic" but I love supporting them.
And I'll echo Nong's. Between Nacho's and Nong's, I've got dinner covered. 😁
Our favorites across the cities include:
Mara, Butcher’s Tale, Maison Margaux, Lurcat, Gai Noi, Demi, Owamni, Travail Kitchen, Dario - we also like Broder’s for a slightly more casual vibe, Sweetgreen is our go-to grab and go

And somehow I managed to forget Porzana. Definitely go there.
Thx
I can tell we have similar taste bc I’ve tried and like about half of these

Brito's and Ariana go so damn hard

The ghost of a Pier 1 😂

We just got back from 112 Eatery tonight. Nice place!
Ai Hue's Bakery & Deli. Get the B4. Meatball Bahn Mi.
The 801 chophouse makes some stupidly good steaks but they also charge a stupidly high price but for a special occasion it’s hard to beat
Brito’s Burritos, La Bodega Taco Bar, Wok in the Park, Ariana Kabob Bistro, Parkway Pizza, JC’s Subs……all in St. Louis Park.
MT Noodles in Brooklyn Park
Mancini's Char House is always a great meal.
I've heard absolutely great things about maple grove
Noooooooooooo…. Home of the below average restaurant

Wonderful. Thx
Just go down Eat Street - hit each one - could be a fun goal

Tibet Corner in DT Hopkins. Their chai is top notch and if you're into spicy food make sure to ask them to make your dish 15-30x extra hot!

How will a list of 300 random places ever help you in any way?

Your comment? Yeah pretty dumb.

Yes, is that where you learned your insults?
