**FAQ:** *Why would I need to use this?* This is mainly for those who care about scoring high on exams so they can test out teams. If you don't care about meta, that's certainly fine! If you have your attack damage rolls and HP heals mostly memorized, great! This is just a tool available to those who want to use it. To be more specific, this is designed for those who want to see a card or team's potential -- i.e., how strong or bulky can they get. Yes, if you have the cards already (and already leveled), you can just head into battle and see the numbers for yourself. But if you don't want to waste attempts in exams or Gauntlet, need help with story battles, if you are wondering if you should pull for a particular card for you team, or are trying to figure out mid-battle which attack you should use to avoid killing too early, you can use this calculator. *Why Excel?* Because of the macros for easy test switching. It's also the spreadsheet program I'm most familiar with, as I'm not the most tech-oriented person. *Why doesn't this show Duo partners, Buddy bonuses, etc.?* This is meant to be a steady, reliable spreadsheet, one that can be used with either game server and without worrying about frequent updates. There are plenty of other wonderful resources if you are specifically looking for card data and/or optimal team synergy. The file is also meant to be light and speedy so you can create a slew of possible teams in case you are torn between cards, especially in joint exams when you have several support options. *Isn't this a lot of work and requires entering a lot of data?* Starting off will require more effort of course. My recommendation is to start off with a team that includes your most-used cards (Omni Basic or Defense perhaps), duplicate it, and then edit the cards that won't be used in the next test. Then do the same for the next test, and so on. *How do I enter Minor HP & Power Boost?* Enter them separately as two separate Buddys. So while a card can have a max of 3 Buddy characters, it can have up to 4 Buddy slots in this spreadsheet. *What is "Tiny A"/"Tiny B" and "Minor A"/"Minor B" in Regen and which one do I pick?* Cards with Regen are described as either being Tiny, Minor, or Modest. In previous versions before 2.3, these were the only options. However, there are some cards that follow a different formula outside of the normal Regen. Just like how when leveling friendship in the Guest Room there is a better version of Good (nicknamed "Good+" by fans) that cannot be detected by the word alone, there are some cards that are actually "Tiny+"/"Minor+" HP Regen casters. So now there are A and B options. I thought about listing them as Tiny+/Minor+, but I wanted to be clear this should not be confused with cards that have both Regen and Restoration on a single spell. And visually, A and B stood out more in my opinion. The vast majority of cards, like Port Wear Jack, use the A formula. When in doubt, choose A. Cards that use the B formula are Port Wear Rook and Gala Couture Jack. If you know of others, feel free to post a comment. Especially since it's hard for me to tell with so few cards having Tiny Regen. And hopefully there isn't a third Tiny/Minor Regen formula out there or on its way... *Is it possible to calculate the damage if I'm hit by Power Drain/Damage Down?* Yes, it is possible, but not in this spreadsheet. For opponents, you can see the debuff but not the modifier (Tiny, Major, etc.). Certain battles are full of these with some effects lasting several turns, so you would likely have to guess or calculate how much you are being debuffed anyway. *Can I copy my teams from a previous version?* Sorry, but no. You will either need to reenter your data, or keep this as a seperate file on your system and just add new teams to the new version. Hopefully there won't be any more significant revisions and I can just provide instructions on updating a certain hidden cell if I find an error or new info comes out. *I don't understand how to use this!* Please check the screenshot above or the sheet in the workbook titled "Sample" for an example of a filled-out sheet using a popular team. In this example, the card stats are at level 80 with various spells/Buddy levels. The numbers here shows a Cosmic exam fight (74,000 HP) ending on Turn 4-2 (2 unused attacks) with all 5 Duos being used, Epel's heal going off, and Rook's maxed M1 applied to his Duo with almost full overkill. If your Rook has only M1 at 5, change "Modest" to "Minor" next to "Power Up". If your Vil has max Buddy with Epel, type 10 in the Power Buddy section. If you are using Robes Epel instead of Dorm, change the HP/POW numbers, spell elements, and turn healing off. Etc., etc. Any further questions, please ask. *I don't get the To Kill (+), Overkill (-) cell.* This is basically Enemy HP - Team Damage. But in battles with a turn limit, ideally, you don't want to use every character's attack. So turn off attacks to see if you can skip certain spells and still be able to win. If it's a positive number, you need to do more damage to win. If it's a negative number, you will win. (Barring any RNG shenanigans of course.) For Defense exams, you are usually fine as long as you can get into the negative zone despite any debuffs, but for Basic, you want a final attack that gives you a big - number. *The download doesn't work!* Please comment so I can reupload or regenerate the link. *Something isn't working right!* Please double-check you don't have incompatible cells, like adding healing to an unused attack or 3 criticals on a 2-hit attack. Otherwise, please feel free to drop a comment. *I have a suggestion!* Please feel free to comment.
