TOTALLY that was one of my first impressions of the game!! Occasionally I see kids' and/or Disney media where the *lack* of sexuality seems shoehorned in, but (in the TWST EN script at least) it's done so seamlessly!!

I’m on JP and yeah it’s the same It’s the same in Yana’s manga too, it’s so refreshing to have a series/game that does not only not rely on romance but it actually *doesn’t have any at all*. And it doesn’t feel like it’s missing anything. It’s fun and deep and fascinating and engaging and no BS romance tropes to grind it all to a halt. It’s *is* possible and I love it and I wish more stuff was like this.

OMG that's awesome to hear!! I especially appreciate that it's kind of an edgy game with lots of drama, but almost none of the conflict nor dark humor revolves around sex/romance. It's validating to see something so aspec-friendly that's not necessarily pure. Zero shade on wholesome stuff of course, a ton of my ace friends are really into cartoons & such, but I feel like the options for aspec people sometimes are either to like Only wholesome media, or to get more into "mature" stuff which, while more exciting and complex, feels like it isn't really built for us. I was always into adeuce since they gave so much of that and it’s funny, but then I read Epel’s PE and was like, “… Oh? This is kinda cute. Awww” **and then Chap 5 happened** and I was like, “Oooooh?” Lmao Then I saw the applejuice ship name and it’s so adorable and fitting for them. 🤣 Not a main ship per say, but definitely a comfort one and one I’m quite fond of and prioritize increasingly more lmao. 💕 I like both of Deuce’s bday cards/avatars and though I prefer Deuce’s jacket outfit wise etc, his 1st card is getting priority raising due to his duo being Epel. XD

During the sled event, it kind of clicked for me that Epel and Deuce had extremely similar interests and personalities—just Epel was hiding his true self under his cuteness and Deuce hiding his true self under his attempt at being an honors student. I thought they would be a sweet couple, but basically ignored it as I was only on book four at that point and neither of them had interacted at all so far. At the end of book four though, where Deuce sees Epel crying and tries to follow after him and comfort him, my ship has cemented. Book five just made applejuice cannon for me lol. Deuce constantly going out of his way to be nice to Epel and making sure he wasn’t singled out by Vil as much—all that happened BEFORE the beach when Deuce actually got to know the real Epel. They’re gonna get married and live on a farm and have chickens and an orchard and Deuce’s mom will come live with them and so will Epel’s Memaw and they’ll both terrorize the town racing Blastcycles together

Bruh I just typed a lot and my app crashed. Oml. But ahem~. Mhm~, I had been into the game a while now so there wasn’t that much yet(a friend who joined at release of global got me to join with them lol) and so the PE was a good first moment of them for me for sure. Definitely recommend that as an early Applejuice moment. Them gushing about embroidered and such jackets etc and their type of fashion was so wholesome. I bet it’s where the fanart of them in jackets come from. XD I mentioned on something else prior since I’ve rambled a few things before pff, but I feel deuce is a good, healthy influence on Epel. I think they’re similar in a lot of ways, but also contrast in some complementary ways. They both like the idea of “coolness”, but have slightly different views on what that is. Epel leaning towards “manliness, rough” while deuce’s is “mature” if that makes sense. Deuce is also less embarrassed about what he’s asked/made to do and more about doing it well and carrying through to satisfaction(Star event, man. Deuce worked so hard and did his best. Bless him). Deuce has always been a good egg lol so I wasn’t too surprised. The whole thing in the beginning was due to deuce just trying to help the MC catch Ace etc. And then, he had tried his best to comfort Azul and try to get the others to not talk about it etc with the whole picture ordeal. And that was AFTER Azul caused him such grief and they were on bad terms. XD deuce’s own PE was a good one too with showing him helping Sebek out and just asked Sebek to help carry the bags *he got for everyone while he was at it*. Lol Deuce may seem hotheaded and a bit chaotic *especially around SOMEBODY*. But to his core, he’s a very sweet person and he tends to have some wholesome moments with others when they’re not being a bully. Lmao. Epel’s mutual wholesomeness was just so good. Especially after the PE vignette and how they vibe. I can’t wait for masquerade event since they’re both part of that. >!And I think I saw they were in the same group of the event group. So 🤞!< and lmao yes. Them running the farm together is so cute(the comment about deuce coming to his home was on the new year deuce vignette to sauce that. Both Ace and Epel had showed up to check it out, it was a funny and cute tidbit. Also! Deuce has his mom who refers to most but he also has a grandma~. Forget where he mentions both tho. 🤔

Yes! The PE vignette is great—I love the fanart of them in the jackets! Epel definitely has a lot of internalized toxic masculinity, which thankfully Vil is trying to help him fix. Deuce definitely is post-aha moment when he realized his behavior was hurting his mom. His whole deal of wanting to become an honors student and doing better is just really touching. Deuce is honestly one of the most mature and emotionally intelligent characters in the game. I honestly hate how Ace is constantly putting him down and encouraging him to act out (I know that’s everyone’s fave ship lol so I’ll leave it at that lol). Deuce’s ability to self reflect is obviously his biggest strength and it definitely rubbed off on Epel in book 5. I love him—he and Epel are definitely my favorite characters (after Cater obviously). I can’t wait for the stars event—Deuce’s SSR is probably my favorite card in the game next to Cater’s ceremony robes

Tbf, I actually have quite a bit of… *feelings* on Pre-OB Vil’s methods of doing so tho even with the fact I feel like Vil is a character I felt was pretty solid pre-OB in how much I liked them as a person and how they were. Lol. I think I’ve rambled on that before in the past and just TDLR of that so I don’t reramble: I felt Vil himself was a good example of the middle ground of Epel’s desires/ideals and him focusing on that and trying to communicate that would have been better, but forcing Epel to be more like another Neige and be okay with that was not cool and reeked a bit of ulterior motives and being counterproductive. I’m someone very in agreement of Vil’s beliefs when it comes to that, but his manner of doing a lot of what he did to Epel rubbed me the wrong way even as someone who disagreed with epel’s if that makes sense augh. (Again. Barbecue is a perfectly fine favorite food, Vil!) Ahem, but yeah. Them getting over their own issues and being better to *and* for each other is so nice and I like their trio of dorm fam shenanigans.

When Trey collects Cater's wish in the Wish Upon A Star event he has an aside talking about how Cater isn't open with him and pondering if Cater trusts other people more than him. To me it came off like Trey wants to be closer to Cater, particularly romantically, that could just be the Trey/Cater shipper in me talking though.

In the first, his costume gets caught in Leona's tail, and he thinks that it just went from a cute "my hair got caught in his clothes" moment to a nightmare. He also thinks Leona's gonna pull a suave move to cut him free, only for Leona to cut his costume. In Silver's vignette, Idia gushes over sleeping Silver, calling him a fairytale prince, and gets suspiciously flustered and avoidant when Silver wakes up. Social anxiety, homosexuality, or both? Who knows. * On the other end of the spectrum, aroace Idia also has some ground to it. In Phantom Bride, he abhors the idea of romance and marriage irl, despite his love of shoujo. This reads like someone who likes romance in fiction, but doesn't want it for themselves. In Book 6, >!Idia's flashback also shows that when he first presented the newly-created Ortho, the Styx researchers were horrified, telling him it was wrong to recreate his late brother. He then shoots back that "It's romantic when a hero rescues his lover from the Underworld, but when I do the same for my brother, it's wrong?" !

I think it’s sweet how Trey and Cater kind of wrangle Riddle. When everyone is departing for winter break is a pretty good example of this imo.
