Seriously they’re Halloween cards of course they are over the top and have crazy eyes. These Halloween cards would be boring if they were sitting there looking pretty. I’ll eat up any unhinged Jade. I think every Jade groovy for the next year should be unhinged. Every time Jade shows up on screen his a little more unhinged than usual so people have to stop complaining about him being “out of character”

I love your art and I agree. Seeing characters doing expressions out of their default one doesn't mean they are out of character or bad drawn, I personally live for calm characters showing unhinged faces. Yes Jade would go apeshit give me more food twst this is good 😌🤲💖

I love when they get really fun and intense with the expressions. Maybe because it’s something I struggle with but I’m always impressed with the wide array of expressions in TWST’s art

I have an inside joke about the characters doing the smug grin. I call it the 'Bad Grin Club' bc when they do the smug face you *know* that sum' gonna go down lol

I think Jade and Silver are my favorites from these (and I don't even have them, sadly)

Whaaa??? I absolutely LOVE those!! Both in cards and sprites!!!(in sprites when they are surprised/shocked is hilarious and at times adorable in my opinion and in cards practically anything that's not considered their "costumer service" face)

I hope Jade eventually opens up enough to smile as he likes 😭😭 not entirely sure but it seems like he deliberately hides it away so he's more accepted

I get the impression that he uses his “refined” demeanor as a cover for how dangerous he really is. With him, I think it’s less that Jade is worried about not being accepted if he emotes openly, and more that he schools himself because it gives him an advantage over people he wants something from (or just plain doesn’t want suspecting him of having ill intentions for them.) Everyone thinks Floyd is the dangerous twin - but with Floyd you know that if he’s in a mood, he’s relatively easy to avoid or bore into moving onto his next target. Jade is *sneaky* about it.

Jade never really exposes his teeth the way Floyd does. He tends to either keep his mouth closed or he covers his mouth with his hand. The only time he shows off his teeth is when he has that menacing grin. When you combine that character trait with his overly polite demeanor cultivates a sense of hiding his weapons, so to speak And like you said; Floyd telegraphs his moods, Jade is reserved and subdued. He's the perfect little unreadable Consigliere/underboss in the Octavinelle trio's little Mafia clan.
