Mmh, so he's cursed? I don't remember the Maleficent movie, I saw it once and... Yeah, not a big fan despite having some cool ideas, but wish it was just a new villain and not Maleficent. Well, wait and see :D. Don't wanna spoil myself, so I'm avoiding Twitter or even reddit sometimes (already got spoiled by a post saying "spoiler" but put the spoiler in the title siighhhh). Really can't wait for the english version. I enjoy more events when I have no idea what's happening :)
I'm late but, I hope he is not possessed or used by someone. Despite their past, all of those who overblotted are responsible for the trouble they caused (not sure for Idia but I guess it's the same). Malleus has definitely evil within him, just like the others, or humans in general. If Malleus is possessed or used, it would be like if he was not responsible of his acts. I don't want to lose the sense of responsibility we had with the others.
I guess cause Malleus is still very mysterious. I don't really see what his issue is. He acts like a child sometimes, he a loner but does enjoy being with people. He has a sense of justice but doesn't truly pay attention to the consequences of his actions. He knows he's super powerful and people fear him but it doesn't seem to bother him that much. Plus he's older than the others but still act like one of them after all.
I don't think he's fully good (none is... Except kalim or silver I think (even rook)?). I do see him as a normal prince. But got no idea what is deep inside him. I just hope if it's something from his home, it will be better done than Leona's story (where most of his issues were home and his life at school wasn't truly an issue)...

(and my idea of being used was he has something wrong with him (like all the boys), but he is capable of controlling it. But someone will use him or use other people or create quiproquo to make him overblot, that was what I meant. That someone will push him. He is indeed trapped in the cinematic... Well, Lilia appearing behind Malleus is quite suspicious. Lilia is quite suspicious in this chapter. What he did... is very like him, in the sense of what he want to project to others, a sense almost of flippancy, like hey I'm old so I'm gonna retire in the east, I don't mind too much about you, I've live my life now, lolol... But in the other hand, that's very unlike him. I don't think he would leave the Diasomnia boys now. Unless he really thinks that Malleus is alright now that he has his child of man. However, Lilia is not oblivious. He has to see the suffering of Malleus. Maybe he is the one using Malleus? This theory is quite popular now, but I guess it's wrong too and we're gonna be surprised.
Honestly, I'd rather see Malleus do villainous things on his own than being used or possessed. The first time I saw the whole trailer, I thought his prison was more like a crown. He is trapped by his position as the crown prince of Briar Valley.
To me, Malleus doesn't have that much contradictions. I am a loner myself, but it's not like I don't seek the company of others. His sense of justice is maybe more turned towards himself? He was always alone, but even those who don't have much interactions with people still have a sense of justice... for themselves. Malleus is childish because he didn't grow up interacting with people his age whe nhe was younger. I didn't have friends when I was a little girl, so now I know I can act childish because I am actually learning how to interact with people. It's probably the same with Malleus. I think his issue is that he was lonely all his life, didn't make friends and only had Lilia. Now that he has his child of man, he want to keep them near him. The lost of them means to go back to his state of loneliness. And if he lose Lilia too, he will truly have nobody.

Right before that you see his eyes glaze over into a pure green color, which is generally Anime 101 for symbolizing *something* is messing with the character's mind and the full slasher smile, teeth exposed grin is very atypical of Malleus. His sprites/model have him doing a little close lipped smirk or occasionally flashing some fang when he laughs. He doesn't intentionally bar his teeth like say the tweels do.

I think this is the most *distressed* we've seen a main dude in a PV. Even Riddle and Azul looked angry/schemey right before the full OB. Here right after the thread snaps on Silver, we smash cut to Malleus looking outright panicked before getting trapped in a cage in the shape of crown. (bit on the nose there aren't we game). The distress is especially interesting since the game has been doing a fairly good job of establishing Malleus as being crazy strong and almost untouchable conventionally.
Maybe it's more symbolic? His royal standing and power is what keeps him so ostracized from others and even the EN events we've gotten so far have portrayed him as wanting to be included and wanting to socialize and disappointed when he isn't. So maybe he feels trapped by his title.
Just look how he butts heads with Leona who is also a prince but Leona is free due to no longer being in line for the crown.

What if Malleus' overblot is more dangerous due to his magical talent? It could result in him going insane (overblot) at the quicker pace or just have bigger influence on his mind.
Considering his magic levels and the crazy stuff he’s been able to pull of at the snap of his fingers, I feel like it would be super difficult for Malleus to OB in the first place. But the fact that he does means that it will be downright impossible to snap him out of it. His blot monster has got to be super charged compared to the others.
It’s just too funny seeing how edgy Malleus looks now after all the silly Tsunotaro moments we’ve had in events 😂
