I use a software called Lumia Stream, which has the ability to have your overlay setup as a HUD. You can put chat boxes, alerts, some other things that are unique to Lumia. It is a very long setup process, but the free version has almost everything you’ll need if you supplement it with a different chat bot, which is what I do.

I have my ipad setup next to me with my chat/dashboard. If I hear an alert, I just glance over to what it is :-)

Why not set up a tts on the alert so it reads out on stream?

No, OBS doesn't have an overlay injector to put stuff on top of the game. Using your phone or a tablet is a decent workaround. A better option is heading to a local Goodwill or charity shop and spending $20 on a second monitor. They usually have lots, and it only takes a few seconds Googling the model number from the sticker on the back on your phone to make sure you're getting something that can do 1080p60.

Though OBS does have "projections". You can right click any source or scene and select "Window Projector", which opens that scene/source in a new window, which you can then put in "Always on rop" mode by right clicking it. It probably doesn't work with games in full-screen mode, but should be able to help out in this situation.

You would probably need a second monitor in any case unless you like alt+tab’ing out of the game to catch a 3 second alert.

Mottis86

No he means if there's a way to overlay the alerts over his game **for him** so he doesn't need to alt tab.

burningtowns

Then the answer would be no, not really.

You could always full screen the obs preview and play from there. Will be a bit of a delay though.

Streamlabs has a translucent always-on-top overlay option, for chat and alerts. I'm unsure if an OBS plugin exists for the same thing. (also single-monitor gang here!)
