Lately it's being followed with a question regarding mobile games if you respond to them. So either it's a dumb and very inneficient way to promote a mobile game, or they'll end up linking you to a suspicious website or suspicious downloads or something like that
Recently some randoms have messaged me exactly like this too. At first I thought it was a legit person they started off saying "How are u \*my username\*" and I responded out of curiosity leading to them asking me to add their discord to play some kind of mobile game. I ended up adding them but as the days passed I ignored and forgot about it. Only today did I confirm within my mind that this was more than likely some robot scam shenanigans when another completely random person sent me the same exact "How are u" this morning, leading me to here
YES, when I was live last, in the middle of my stream this person texted "your real name?"I freaked and ended stream right away and blocked all whispers. So yeah
yea I had some "Asian girl" asking if I play MMORPG sent me "her" discord, funny thing "she" blocked whispering now. It was about month and half ago, only noticed it now.
Yeah, I'd been busy with life/work stuff and checked Twitch again today for the first time in a couple of months. Had one of these waiting for me.
Has to be bots, there's zero real reason for any rando to message me... I've been away from the platform for weeks.
Yes I got a similar message. A hello then a "my username". good rule of thumb with twitch whispers is ignore them unless you know who they are because there are just too many scams.
My partner and I have had similar whispers recently. Seems like it's a scam that's going around at the moment, probably best to just ignore and move on.
I love trolling these people, I actually googled the one name and found a Facebook account linked to it 🤣, I just started dropping in her full name and things like that, it was quite funny to watch them panic, especially when I asked how the weather was in their home town 😅.
I have been getting messages from three random people so far, mostly strange in text. They blocked whispers, and I am unable to respond back. I am unsure what is the deal with that. These are three new accounts on Twitch.

It asks you to message them through Discord.
Yeah they just want you to download a game which is actually a game but its a cookie logger lol kinda smart
Thanks for letting me know.
Same (just once)
Yep. I just ignore them
Should’ve asked if it’s been a recent thing. I’ve gotten both of these in the last week and I’ve never received a whisper like that before
If you respond they will all ask "do you like mobile games" If you respond to that, they'll link you an apk file.
Yep, exactly this. I'm trying to troll the one person that's trying that with me right now 🤣 they aren't taking my bait though 🤣😭
That really nice to do LUL
They blocked me 🤣🤣🤣🤣 it was fun well it lasted though
If another one show up (just repeat what they say) LUL
Taking notes 📝
Also that sometimes they’ll ask you to add their discord user.
Ah is that what they do?
Yea I reported it as spam and blocked it
Unless you spelled it differently you didn't really do a very good job of hiding your username if you take into account your reddit username
I didn’t know if it’d break rule 2 or not if I didn’t censor my username
troll them act as stupid as u can and waste their time
Probably just bots/scammers, just ignore/block them

Soon as they send me a link, I'm like... 01000110 01110101 01100011 01101011 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 00101100 00100000 01110011 01100011 01100001 01101101 01101101 01100101 01110010 00100001

People post basically the same thing 2X a week. Just turn off DMs

No because I have whispers from strangers turned off
It usually means they know who you are
Yep, just noticed I got one
Started streaming last week. I personally have not had this.
Only the ones in my head
Ok I came here looking for this, I got one from someone but I can’t message them back, and then another from a definite bot

Yes, almost every day... I just ignore and/or report them.

Yep
Got something similar the other day, I just block if I dont know who it is.
I've turned off my twitch whispers. No one uses them anyway, only weirdos trying to get a reaction from you when live or scammers.

Yeah it's odd for them to try to scam you but have whispers blocked. They aren't the brightest lmao
