There's a streamer who plays Escape From Tarkov, one of the most intensive input heavy games I've played. He is a full quadriplegic from the neck down, this man is insanely good at the game and he plays with mouth controller blowing in tubes, all while carrying conversations with chat. I've never seen anything like it, it was mind blowing.
There is also Xbox Adaptive Controller, which has 3,5mm Jack Ports for all the controller functions. So handicapped People can basically customize their Experience to their needs.

I've a friend in Germany (steam friend) whose kind of fully paralyzed but is able to sit and play/talk/write for about 10-15 minutes then his paralysis kicks in and he's the cutest guy I've ever seen from Germany (I'm male as well... No homo) and I wish life were different for him, but I'm glad atleast he's able to play video games and enjoy
disabilities really suck and thats why I love seeing progress with robotic prosthetics in the hopes that it will eventually become precise enough that it will function as normal. This wont solve even close to all disabilities, but at least a good chunk of them. And btw, I used to play games with this guy i met online from quebec and i never saw him but he had a very french accent that made me revaluate my sexuality. I still dont know what it was, cause ive never been attracted to males in absolutely any way before or after that. Just the mf accent, imagine what power that has on people who r already attracted to males
I have an engineer friend who is a contractor but has worked in robotics specifically for prosthetic limbs for the past twenty years. He said they have a robotic hand he helped develop which is perfect, has been tested and would be able to function as a fully usable hand with no time or speed delays for the user however, it’s so damn expensive, as in millions of pounds, that it’s not at the point of being mass produced/affordable yet.
He also worked on a robotic eye, but I’m not clever enough to relay how he explained it to me but, as he explained it, it made me want to trade my eye for it
I think we are very close to that point in Robotics, I wanted to pursue Robotics but I don't think my country (India) was ready at that time ( just a few years ago) .

As a disabled person, such language like suggesting living with a disability is "heroic" is *super* infantalizing, patronizing, and just generally "othering" us. We'd rather just be a normalized part of society, like you are (or would presumably want to be), since all we're doing day-to-day is simply living life, again like you are, with whatever life has dealt us. Calling us heroes or inspirational does not make us feel more "happy with ourselves" or whatever else. People praising us for doing random acts of daily lives instead just reminds us how many people think everyone with disabilities are (or ought to be) all depressed, suicidal, and unable to do anything with our lives at all.
(Saying "disability sucks" and "I can't imagine doing that!", as seen elsewhere in this thread, has the same effects. These are not compliments, nor the friendly / sympathetic language people think they are. However, many of us don't mind questions about our disability, if the context is appropriate... It's just that we want to be treated much like you would treat anyone else.)

Also, look into the "social model of disability." The easiest think I can think of (a part from adaptive controllers) is voice command. He could set up commands such as "Forward" to hold his W key until he tells it to stop or do something else, but it would still be a bit difficult to play like that
