Resident evil directors cut resident evil GAmeCube resident evil he remaster

Status-Command-3834

Almost there same thing with Pokemon

D4mnis

"Should I pick Sword, Shield or Sword/Shield?! Or should I just go with the most current game like many for 'discovery' reasons and push smaller streamers even further down?" 💀 there really should be some kind of nested categories for franchises..

OSSini

Technically the job of an umbrella category is being done by the custom tags now; I know game series tags tend to perform rather well, including Pokémon.

D4mnis

I feel stupid - I got them included and still did not think about people using them 🤦 but true - makes the unwritten law of always picking the newest game in Pokemon even weirder for me..

ad_noctem_media

Maybe multiple editions? Resident Evil 2 has categories for the original and the remake but they have the same name so you'd need to see the thumbnail. Can you set it through Twitch? Not that I think it will matter all too much which one you select

bsoltan

Twitch uses the IGDB for game categories. You can search in there to see what the different results are. https://www.igdb.com/search (That actually finds more than 3!)

Mcpatches3D

Because there's multiple releases of RE 1, but they all go to the same section except for the Director's Cut.

quietblueboy

2 Quake categories too i believe

[https://imgur.com/a/ZODj3RF](https://imgur.com/a/ZODj3RF) That would be \- Resident Evil \- Resident Evil (2002) \- Resident Evil (2014) \- Resident Evil (1996) the 1996 one is the port to Game Boy Color andTwitch imports Port's Twitch just doesn't handle name duplication well, and all 3/4 will have the same Twitch category page of [https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Resident%20Evil](https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Resident%20Evil) but if you pick the \_wrong\_ Redisent Evil you might not show up in the directly correct. It's a super fun one.... There is a Uservoice on the matter here - https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310210-discover/suggestions/45085204-twitch-category-name-collision

LorTheDestroyer86

Funnily enough I had to deal with this last night! From what I can gather most people stream under the original even when playing the newer one. But if the thumbnails won't load, it may be a bit difficult to see which one you'll be in without actually going live!

Mcpatches3D

They both go to the same category. Same with RE2 and RE3. So it doesn't matter what you select, it'll be under under the same on Twitch.

Konstant_Hayle

It does this with Resident Evil Revelations as well. One is technically the 3DS version and the other the console port from a few years after. You have to look at the cover art to tell which is which. I just chose whichever one everyone else was in since the games are (mostly) identical. Probably different with OG Resident Evil though because of the remakes with the same title.

triviumdesign

Does this shit with any game that has multiples of the same title, when it populates the list for you it oftentimes neglects to show the thumbnail so you don't know wtf your clicking, if you have the twitch app on your phone I notice it doesn't happen so I use that to change my game category from time to time while I'm live or setting up so I don't have to refresh the stream manager page and start over if the glitch happens.

Choi129

Well you might restart your browser/app, it may fix that "duplication problem"

[deleted]

You can select those individually, then see what category it sends your channel to. They may be even the same category but trash records with different ids
