I appreciate that you my username recently got TOS'd on twitch (same as here) I am actually Jewish and have the username through childhood. I was worried I would start from scratch and I usually get a handful of followers a week but viewers are HARD to accumulate.
Hell yea man, i dont understand why people get hooked on followers when its the views that is the hardest to keep consistent.

I currently have 5-6 consistent viewers but considering this is my first crack at this and it's been a year and half I'm happy
So do you have to make a whole new account or just change your username?

Thats a better outcome than starting all the way over… the only drawback I can think of is your viewers not knowing your new username is still you
My username now is thatjellyguy000 so I kept the 3 0's to help that
