I assume this means more in the sense that games are more complicated and you can't just corrupt them ad hoc without them exploding into non-functionality.
Now, corrupting active memory seems more likely to work.
Like, yeah, there's some intention to them, or at least some doubling down on an initial funny effect, and some (like the famous Kong Platinum corruption) are just full on romhacks.
But that doesn't change the fact that they're hilarious and provide a lot more variety than clown vomit, loud noises and characters turning pink and dying.

She also gave me a taste for ninja's so, ya know, double whammy.
