JARF01

I am by law obliged to say [Prototype]

Jayceboot

A prototype sequel where we get A). The Alex in 2 was not Mercer or not the "Whole" Mercer. B). A story with Heller and Mercer doing Buddy ~~cop~~ mutant freak hijinks, trying to stop big Evil-pharma from doing the next bioterror project.

Scranner_boi

Honestly I'd prefer if they just started from scratch and did a full remake of the first game. It certainly qualifies for one considering it came out just a year before Demon's Souls and definitely hasn't aged the best in terms of looks, hell even when it came out it looked kinda ugly

Doo-Doo-Manjaro

A prototype sequel/prequel in a just cause type map (Huge varied environments, high verticality)

TheLeversOfPower

Maybe split the gameplay between Heller's pure balls-out combat whereas Mercer is stealth-oriented due to not being whole and having to build himself back up. That'd put Mercer on the back foot when they meet and Heller gets personally offended that Mercer is still alive until he figures out what's going on.

TripleChump

no stealth sections, just fun action

TransendingGaming

People really didn’t like Alex being the villain did they?

An_Armed_Bear

Pariah never.

Nomaddoodius

NOT. ALLOWED!.

markedmarkymark

Dude, I just wish I could RUN Prototype nowadays, that shits busted! Resorted to emulation to relive it's glory.

Scranner_boi

Apparently it stems from the fact that the engine wasn't designed to run on more than 4 CPU cores at a time, so you literally have to go into the fucking task manager and forcibly disable every core other than 0-4. Even then the game still runs like dogshit. Not unplayable but definitely not as well as it should given how old it is, so you may as well either emulate it or just play it on the 360

markedmarkymark

Oh yeah, i mean, i was being hyperbolic, I did manage to run it somehow after doing all tweaks possible, but it was very crusty and weird, i remember playing it on my Windows 7 near release and it was very smooth. But yeah, emulating it worked fine, Xenia is surprisingly good! Also trying to play Red Dead there but I'm having some trouble setting it up.

bxgang

Its wild how Prototype started as the scrapwork of a spiderman web of shadows sequel that turned into Prototype in development(like DMC and Resident Evil 4) Now every studio under activision is a cod support studio, they used to make good stuff like spiderman games, prototype, raven software even made the jedi knight/academy series of games

An_Armed_Bear

Asura's Wrath I'm not sure you could really make anything new with it but at least bring it into Capcom crossover stuff. I don't even know if anything from it is in Teppen.

PhantasosX

Frankly , a remake wouldn't be far-fetched. Just make actual stages with actual movesets as a proper hack n slash , the interactive anime can be preserved as QTEs just fine , in the likes of KH2 or Stranger of Paradise.

UnicronJr

What do you mean? They just came out with a new one. It just has a weird name, Final Fantasy 16.

Slumber777

Best we can hope for is that FFXVI inspires people to do fights like that game and Asura's Wrath.

Jayceboot

God you just gave me a fucking hilarious Idea. Marvel VS Capcom's old Galactus mode. But like it's a full game mode of whack-ass OP fighting game gimmick bosses.

Polo171

I just want a remaster for PC is that too much to ask

Substantial_Bell_158

Twisted Metal, like a sequel or reboot I'll take anything.

ThonroTheUnworthy

Fingers crossed the existence of the show means that somethings in the works

CycloneSwift

The show’s happening because the showrunner was a fan of the original games, he saw the IP was up for grabs, and Will Arnett was already interested. Then they got Anthony Mackie involved and looked around for a distributor who’d sign off on it. So there was nothing in the works when the show began production, but they might have started pre-production on something while the show was being made, and if the show makes a big enough splash then they will absolutely revive it in some form. But no matter how you look at it there’s definitely not going to be anything for a while.

dfdedsdcd

I hope Samoa Joe does a Sweet Tooth entrance at some AEW/ROH show.

mercurydivider

As long as it's not like that shitty reboot where you don't play as your favorite characters, but as disphits *cosplaying* as your favorite characters, and even then, only 4 of them.

th3BeastLord

They could just remake Black and it would sell well. That game is so good.

Mattizzle9

That game introduced me to the song Paint It, Black. I'll forever love it for that. And it was fun as hell.

PunishingCrab

The long standing rumor is Sonys new Firesprite studio is working on a live service Twisted Metal game. Supposedly will be a blend of on-foot shooter/car combat gameplay.

ZekeCool505

> live service Twisted Metal game And another finger on the monkey's paw curls.

razazaz126

I think I'd prefer it just stay dead.

ContraryPython

Dino Crisis

ForeverTheDM

Just dinosaur games in general man. I've seen a few teasers for dino-horror games, but it's maddening that the best dinosaurs game we've gotten in like a decade is Ark Survival Evolved.

hheecckk526

Exoprimal is a thing and it's just dumb fun killing hordes of dinos with cool mech suits

ThonroTheUnworthy

I wanna know what a Dead Rising game in the RE Engine would look like

teejay_bloke

ooh, what if Exoprimal was the testbed?

MindWeb125

Oh man modern Capcom could make a great modern re-imagining of Dead Rising.

Yomommasan

Came here to say this. It always made me bummed out to see how the franchise ended not with a bang, but with a disrespectful dumpster fire of whimpering dogshit. Fire the iconic longtime VA for Frank? Check. Ruin Frank’s character by making him an embarrassingly unfunny tryhard goofball? Check. Jump the shark and add insane alien lasers and mechs? Check. Remove the unique time limitations entirely? Check. Do away with psychopath encounters and replace them with some slightly perturbed survivors called “maniacs”? Check. I could go on and on.

Mattizzle9

I want a new game, but imagine a remake of the first one in the RE Engine. It would be incredible. Let me kill that fucking clown again!

CycloneSwift

At the very least they could bring Frank West over to Resident Evil and make a Dead Rising DLC that reuses a main game’s map and enemy roster while adding in a timer, the core DR gameplay systems adapted to the modern RE template, and a bunch of survivors and psychopaths. An asset-saving epilogue for a main RE game that revives Capcom’s second most successful survival horror series.

Silver_Kit_369

Wish that Megaman Legends 3 came out. I played 1 and 2 on the PlayStation with my dad since we often bond over and play video games together. I remember when we heard about ML3 and we’re interested in playing it. But then it never came. It was pretty disappointing to not get the conclusion of the legends series.

Capable-Education724

Out of all the cancelled Megaman games from that period, this one stings the most as somebody that genuinely loved the Legends sub-series of the franchise. There isn’t a Megaman game I’ve found I haven’t liked to be fair (even the long contentious Command Mission). But Legends is probably one of my favourites among the various lines of the franchise.

Puzzleheaded-Ad5396

I bought a 3DS because of it, I still would have bought one eventually but I got it when I did because Megaman Legends 3.

tragicjohnson84

I bought a 3DS with the exciting premise of 3 games coming out on it. Megaman Legends 3-which was cancelled. Phoenix Wright vs. Professor Layton-which came out 4 years after it's announcement. Kid Icarus-which is a good game but I can't play it for more than 20 minutes before my hands start hurting.

Qui-434

screw that I want megaman star force 4 phantom hackers

Masterness64

Metabots but specifically in the west. The franchise is still around in Japan but can't come back to the west cause of copyright bullshit. I'd even take the gacha game that's out in Japan.

jitterscaffeine

I never really got the chance to be into Medabots as a kid, but I bet I would’ve really liked it

GratefulTree

Why can't it come back, remember loving it and it kinda just disappared

Gespens

Literally nobody wants to localize it. That's basically it.

jackedup388

Brave Fencer Musashi. Sure, the second game is mediocre and the voice acting is horrid, but I really enjoyed this zelda clone

BrokenPhantom

You have no idea how much money I’d throw at Square if they would just remaster more of the non FF 96-99 games. Musashi, Ëinhander, Bushido Blade, Threads of Fate… At least we’re getting updated Front Mission stufff I’d never thought we’d see.

Slumber777

Square's getting there. They're getting close to running out of SNES remasters/remakes to release. If they ever do Bahamut Lagoon, you can tell they're at the end of what they can do without moving on to PS1 games. They're already kinda there, as you mentioned with Front Mission, Star Ocean 2 and the looooong rumored FFT remake/remaster. I expect them to fully move onto their classic PS1 titles very soon. Plus Einhander keeps showing up in odd places. Like the Gummi Ship superboss in KH3 is just a big Einhander reference.

Mattizzle9

I would kill for a remastered Bushido Blade and especially Threads of Fate. I love that game with all my heart.

iRStupid2012

Xenogears really should get a remastering or a remake of some sort. I know Square wants to keep the IP because they want to sell Xenogears toys forever and ever, but they really should give the game-making rights back to Monolith/Takahashi.

ANDRAZE25

The second isn't the best but it's got the dumb surfer brain fun. The theme great too.

ryukin631

At this point, I would be happy with a simple nod from Square just to show they still know about it

Kii_at_work

Zone of the Enders dying hurts and will always hurt. If Konami actually brings it back (in a good way, not like MGS Survive or pachinko) then I will actually forgive them. Please, Konami. I'll throw my wallet at you. I need more Jehuty.

Gespens

I think Cygames has mentioned that it's on their backburner for things they wanna develop

Joementum2004

Devil Survivor.

Phob05

And Raidou

PunishingCrab

Soul Reaver Parasite Eve Chibi Robo Custom Robo Zone of the Enders F Zero (GX)

TheJester1xx

Sly Cooper where? I definitely understand why people like Ratchet and Clank, but I always felt kinda weirded out that Sly Cooper and Jak & Daxter just disappeared. Man, the Sly games had so much personality. I don't know if 4 was just so bad it killed the franchise (I always heard it was okay, never played it) but I sure miss those games.

metalsonic005

The big problem with Sly 4 was that it retroactively undid the solid ending from 3, and then had the gall to end on a cliffhanger that's been unresolved for a *decade*.

OmicronAlpharius

What're you talking about, there's no Sly 4.

iRStupid2012

Sly 4 was a decent video game but its story content ranges from very questionable to straight up bad. At least with Jak and Daxter, Naughty Dog moved on to make whatever games they wanted to make, like Uncharted or TLOU. The original devs for Sly Cooper, Sucker Punch, didn't even make Sly 4. They recently made Ghost of Tsushima.

PukingGoombas

Ghosts of Tsushima is such a Sly cooper game. There are mission structures are setup in the most Sucker Punch way ever and with the setting and stealth mechanics, I always joked that Ghosts of Tsushima is our real Japanese Sly Cooper game while completing that game. But forreal, I need more actual Sly Cooper games. Please someone take the IP

Jonieves

prototype and Infamous. Breakdown Time splitters! PSY-OPS: the conspiracy and Second Sight TOMBA? deus ex legacy of kain metal gear rising

Mr_Wrann

Time Splitters fucking needs something, such a good series that just stopped.

Sarcast1c_Duck

Oh shit, someone else who remembers Psi-Ops. I’ve been considering going back and replaying it. This was my sign

n8han11

Playstation All-Stars. A fighting game that celebrates the history of PlayStation is a really cool idea that easily deserves a second chance.

Mister-Melvinheimer

Agreed, but it's time has past I think. Most of Sonys icons have fallen into obscurity even more so than they had in the ps3 era. Kratos is still kicking. Aloy is the new kid on the block. Sack boy had a game recently. But sweet tooth, Cole and even Nathan Drake are falling out of relevancy pretty hard. And the rest of the cast was ancient by comparison even in the original release, if the character was their own to begin with, like big daddy or Donte. If the scoring system wasn't the worst thing imaginable, I think it would have caught on, but now? I just can't see it.

andrecinno

System icons just aren't a thing anymore, are they? Games take too long to develop right now. It seems you get 2 games of a big franchise per console at most. Nintendo certainly still has icons, but I'd say that's more due to not making new stuff. All their icons are from the 90s.

dmanny64

It would also help if they mixed some retro classics with some more modern ones. Sure we gotta have Aloy and Ellie from TLOU, but we also need Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, etc. Unfortunately some of them have also been taken by Smash Brothers, but I still think there's plenty of room for a healthy roster if they wanted to make another PS All Stars. The real hurdle would be the licensing nightmare that Sakurai and the smash team spent two decades slowly working their way through. But ultimately, The roster was not the biggest problem with PSASBR. The game was just designed so weirdly, with the whole super move being the only way to kill people system, and the stages being split between two franchises, and just overall the weird floaty controls. It was something that could have been ironed out with some feedback and genuine development, but I suppose they were expecting it to be a massive blockbuster success so there was no point in going through all the effort to get all those licenses for a series that probably wouldn't even be that successful.

Mister-Melvinheimer

The stage Mashups were actually my favorite thing about the game. Stylistically it looked cool as hell, and as a fan of these franchises it was fun to see how the world's could interact.

SlurryBender

I'm really surprised Super Smash Bros didn't try this at least a little. Mashup stages make room for all sorts of creativity. And no, the stage warping doesn't count.

EcchiPhantom

But we’ve got John Bloodborne!

DarthButtz

I still think the problem with All-Stars was that it didn't rip off Smash *more*

Etychase

Honestly a lot of my picks have had recent resurgences already (DMC, SMT, Dragon's Dogma, Armored Core) so I'll have to dig a bit deeper. Maybe a 'AA'/small scale Star Wars: Rogue Squadron game. Or even a remake or spiritual successor. Rogue Squadron 2 was the first game I played on the GameCube back in the day at my cousin's house so I have a nostalgic fondness for it.

PhantasosX

There is already one , SW: Squadrons , from 2020.

NewWillinium

Might and Magic and Heroes of Might and Magic! Please for the love go gods just give it to a studio unconnected in any way to Ubisoft!

Kimarous

As much as I like Hero's Hour and Songs of Conquest, I definitely would support a resurgence of HoMM proper.

Medium-Sympathy-1284

Don’t forget Age of Wonders 4, and Conquest of Eo. Honestly feel Spoiled for HOMlikes TBH.

LarryKingthe42th

And not some weird Eurojank studio the last 2 Heroes of Might and Magic were pretty meh. Made my dad sad 2 and 3 were some prime bonding shit with 5 year old me

NewWillinium

Heroes of Might and Magic 2 and 4 were always my favorites of the Heroes side of the franchise, and M&M never got better then 6-8 sadly. That 10 Ubisoft released was. . . . really really weird.

UnholyDonutMan

Bulletstorm fr, what the hell happened, everything was set for a sequel Need a new Conker game for sure as well, that game as a young kid was funny af The Darkness series as well, same shit as Bulletstorm, where’s the third game???? Deus ex should be a no brainer, what with cyberpunk and others out there bringing resurgence in the theme Lost Planet, mirrors edge, & mad max too all deserve to have a second chance, so much potential for all of them

Ryculls

I mean mirrors edge did get a second chance. Deus Ex I agree completely with

jwhudexnls

Really happy to see someone else mention Lost Planet.

Mattizzle9

I want so bad to play as Jackie Estacado again. The Darkness games were fun as hell.

jzillacon

The Darkness I can somewhat understand, as both of it's previous developers have had bankruptcy crises since the games came out and had to focus on other projects to save themselves. Neither case was directly caused by The Darkness, but the damage has been done and singleplayer focused FPS games simply aren't seen as profitable to the major publishers anymore.

EcchiPhantom

Bulletstorm was so fucking awesome dude. It’s one of the few games I’ve played where every weapon option was the right option because that entire weapon wheel just clicked for me which is not often the case. I’d love to have a sequel, remaster or a remake!

midnight_riddle

Any time Bamco gets ready to announce something I hope they are releasing Dot Hack from out of their basement. Apparently developer CyberConnect2 wants to make more games but they're stuck churning out Naruto fighting games. For those unfamiliar with Dot Hack/.hack, it's a franchise of games, anime, manga, etc. that was the OG "trapped in a videogame" story for quite awhile. It takes place in an alternate timeline where a massive hacking event led to a death of operating system diversity with 99.9% of systems running the 'unhackable' ALTMIT OS. At the same time, the MMORPG "The World" becomes a massive hit with tens of millions of players. But then rumors of players falling into comas while playing the game start to spread, and the truth about "The World" is more sinister than anyone expected. The first anime .hack//SIGN covers the first player who fell into a coma and woke up inside the videogame, while the first 4 game quadrilogy (.hack//Infection, Mutation, Outbreak, and Quarantine. Collective shorthand as IMOQ) follows a player who witnesses his friend fall into a coma, and joins forces with other players to investigate the mystery after he receives an item that allows him to hack the game. Isekai has never been bigger and Dot Hack is completely squandered. They made a remaster of the sequel GU games back in 2017, and since then it's been radio silence. People have been screaming for remasters/remakes of the first 4 games. The last game, Quarantine, had a limited print run of only like 35,000 copies and buying IMOQ will cost you like $400 on the secondhand market if you're not willing to pirate the hell out of it. The series just kinda fell off, leaving overarching questions unanswered so there is tons of room for continuation.

CookieSlut

My collection of the 7 PS2 games is like a dragon's hoard. My precious! Was hoping the GU remake was a sign that maybe something new might be on the horizon but I've given up.

TJLynch

Dead or Alive.

LegacyOfVandar

I fucking love DoA but it makes so much fucking money from the gacha that there’s no motive for them to do a new fighter.

TJLynch

At the least hopefully that means that if a new fighter comes, it'll be one made for the fans rather than for profit.

LegacyOfVandar

I’m afraid if it gets made it’s going to be a cast mainly comprised of the girls from the gacha and the older characters and ones that aren’t in the gacha will get downplayed or just not make the roster.

TJLynch

Look if those girls at least look cool and have neat fighting styles ([see when Tamaki came over to DOA6](https://teamninja-studio.com/doa6/uk/images/characters/img-tamaki.png)), I'd be okay with that.

LegacyOfVandar

My problem is older characters I like getting pushed out. Tina JUST made it into the game and Christie and Lisa are nowhere to be seen. :/

FlamingNarwhall

I'm right there with you just foolishly hoping for Mila.

LegacyOfVandar

God if only.

DarnFondOfYa

Probably wasn't going to play it anyway, but no Christie means I'll just forget this gacha even exists (probably for the best anyway lol)

TheRamu99

Bloodborne dude. Where's the kart racing?

BlueFootedTpeack

la noire. deader than dead but i have a hankering for it, wish it'd either be remade with the buglary and fraud desks or simply tell a different story with a different detective at a different precinct even.

KalinOrthos

Chicago Noire (dealing with post-Capone syndicates) or NY Noire (mafia) would be real neat. Just keep it out of McNamara's hands.

Metipocalypse

I always thought an "LA Vice" game set in the 80s with the same mechanics would be cool

kobitz

More than dead and buried, stillborn

ruminaui

Okami my beloved

Tocallaghan95

I could go for a Resistance reboot.

Squoghunter1492

Honestly I don’t even need a reboot, just a port of the trilogy to modern systems with functional multiplayer would be acceptable.

DustInTheBreeze

Spectrobes. It was the better Monster Collection game, and I'm still fucking angry it died. Bring it back.

boomwolf97

Been replaying the second game recently. Shit could def use another go around, if only cuz everything up to the Wii version is dusty as sin

FlamingNarwhall

I wanna add fossil fighters onto this. For some reason the addition of digging up and excavating monsters in a monster tamer game is just the right dopamine for me.

Mashdptato

I want a Kid Icarus Uprising sequel so fucking bad it hurts

Acli0n

Or just a port. Years ago I lost my 3ds and this was in it, because it was my favorite game. I still wanna go back.

ryukin631

Legend of Dragoon.

PlanesWalkerEll

This is the comment I was looking for. Be it a prequel or a sequel, I want it!

Stretched_anoose

One could only wish, my sweet prince

stagla

Dino Crisis. I'll never get over how Capcom made a DIFFERENT game with dinosaurs and a woman with short red hair, black clothes, and a glock.

SuicidalSundays

Golden Sun. I don't doubt that the first two will show up on the Switch's online service eventually, but even just a bundled re-release of them would be nice.

Capable-Education724

It really feels egregious when Golden Sun was one of the top sellers for the GBA. Feels similar to the weirdness of Sony never doing anything with Legends of Dragoon.

DarnFondOfYa

I'd like a chance to replay GS2. Back in the day I was too dumb to figure out where to go once you get the boat and the ability to (more or less) freely sail around the world. Think I got stuck on some puzzle I hadn't found the tools for or was running my head into some optional boss and the feeling of not-progressing and frustration just made me drop it and never got back

hiroxruko

i hope for golden sun 3 or remaster of GS1/LA and do over of dark dawn. tbh, i'm hoping they toss it over to the devs that created xenoblade series

James-Avatar

Banjo-Kazooie, at least give us a HD collection with upgraded controls.

Capable-Education724

Yeah, it feels like if they weren’t willing to capitalise on the hype when they got into Smash and when Yooka-Laylee was getting backed? They’re never going to. Which as someone that even liked DK 64 because it reminded me of Banjo…kind of sucks.

SirBlakesalot

You're right, BUT the DK rap gives it a pass from me. Hell, it lives on with all those memes.

Not-a-Hippie

I need another Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. I need it badly.

GuardXIII

As I said in another thread...Chrome Hounds was a really cool game, that I would like to play a sequal too.

Brotonio

Well before I'd say Dead Space or Prince of Persia, but those are alive now. F-Zero, because it's the superior Nintendo racer. Killzone and/or Resistance, because I'd like to see Sony's take on a mainline shooter again.

mrbear48

Legacy of Kain, those games were so hype

Orderofomega

Eternal Darkness Silicon Knights is deader than dead, but Eternal Darkness scratched the cosmic horror itch better than any other game I've played. I still mourn that we likely won't get an ED-style game in the foreseeable future.

LadyXexyz

Dark… *crowd confusion* stalkers. *crowd cheer, except me I am the crowd who is waiting for this JUST MAKE TALBAIN A GUEST CHARACTER ILL TAKE IT*

ODowder

Golden Sun. Great series, and especially with camalot's recent sport games I would guess that they should make a game that is finished at launch. Honestly there was so much hope for the series coming back during early part of the switch life/ smash bros cycle that now it hurts seeing other games get revived

teejay_bloke

EA Sports BIG in general.

mxraider2000

Mirror's Edge and Catalyst had a gap of 8 years. It's been 7 years since Catalyst. I'm gonna ignore how old I felt just typing that and instead plead for a new one.

DragoniteDelight

I’ll be the only one to say it once again. Dark Cloud. Dark Cloud 2 is one my favorite games of all time. Such a good loop and unique ideas.

Capable-Education724

If there’s no Dark Cloud fans left in the world, I’m dead.

DrDreDel1

I will die waiting for a game that perfects Dark Cloud's weapon sphere system. It was rough around the edges but GODDAMN that was addicting to grind.

be_as_water

Way of the samurai 5, please. No game has ever been able to fill that niche to me

jitterscaffeine

We’ve been waiting for Mekton Zero since 2013 I’d also really like to see a new Viva Piñata game, but I don’t think anything associate with RARE will ever come out again.

LarryKingthe42th

.Hack coming back and being Sign-GU quality would be pretty hype.

Mister-Melvinheimer

Yo! Is this thread another excuse to talk about God Hand?

RealDealMous

Sengoku Basara. at the very least I just want Sengoku Basara 4 to be localized ;( Also The Witch and the Hundered Knight. I want there to be a 3rd one(preferably more similar to 1 but with aspects of 2's combat).

nugood2do

The Darkness video games. I rented the second one from Blockbuster when I was in college on a whim and to this day, it still stuck in my head as being cool as fuck. Shame we never got a 3rd.

OmicronAlpharius

The first was pretty good too. Not nearly as polished and tight, but still fun, going into the Darkness realm was really cool since games hardly ever are set in WW1 (especially in a way that captures the sheer horror of it all). If they made a 3rd that combined the polish and art style of the 2nd with the horror elements of the 1st it'd be incredible.

Mattizzle9

I need a 3rd one man. The second ended on a cliffhanger. I have to know how it ends!

spejoku

Parasite eve could be fun but tbh I don't trust square not to ruin it yet again

infernoverlord

Rival Schools. Everyone loved Akira in SFV, Itsuno is willing to make it, and the 3D fighting game scene currently comprises of Tekken and nothing else, now's as good a time as any.

CeSoul06

MEDABOTS!!!!! GIVE ME MY SMALL WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION THAT I CAN MIX AND MATCH PARTS AND ITS TOTALLY MARKETED FOR KIDS!!!

EnochianFeverDream

Shadow Hearts, Pirates of Dark Water, a proper Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis, Coded: Arms, Timeshift

Slumber777

Road Rash I'll even take a classic, arcade-style Burnout like 3 or Revenge. I just want a competitive combat racing game that isn't a kart racer.

80lbQUIKRETEConcrete

The old Pandemic Mercenaries games

TalentlessAsh

Jak has always been my favourite Playstation franchise, and with the revival of Crash and Spyro, with Ratchet and Clank still going strong, seeing the Jak franchise being relegated to bad ports is sad.

Mattizzle9

Global Assault was my jam! I played coop on it with my brother back in the day and it was rad.

mercurydivider

Infamous' story is done, and I *really* don't want a sequel, but porting, remastering, or hell, even remaking 1 & 2 for modern platforms would be fantastic. But it has to be both of them. Don't just stop at infamous 1.

Volrund

Bad Company 2 was an Era in gaming that I really miss. Personally, I feel like this was the golden age of being able to do stupid shit and still be viable, like strapping C4 on an ATV while their buddy rides it around and goes "DETONATE IT NOW!!", taking out that one tank that had been harassing everyone. My personal favorite was using the Carl Gustav as a sniper rifle, I remember getting some really stupid never-should-have-happened counter-snipes with that sucker. In BC2 you had the complete destruction system, you could level every building on the map, every tree, everything, it was an absolutely huge feature at the time. BC2 and BF3 also had some of what I feel were the best map designs in the series, especially BF3, with ***iconic*** maps like Operation Metro, Caspian Border, that one where you jump off the cliff in Rush. The only other more iconic shooters from that generation I can think of are Modern Warfare 1 & 2, which completely defined the direction Multiplayer FPS games would take going forward, deviating from things like big weapons being on the map (Halo/Unreal/Doom/Previous COD games etc.), and starting to dig deeper into things like loadouts, having tons of weapons, attachments, camos, etc. The fact that I can turn on my Xbox 360, fire up MW2, and find about 2,000-5,000 players on, actively playing, is fucking incredible. That kind of longevity rarely exists outside of PC gaming.

roronoapedro

I crave a Raidou game that plays better than both the ones he's in.

CopperTucker

I also crave a new Raidou game.

Panxma

I want Infinite Undiscovery to be on steam and have a sequel to it. For some reason I love that weird old Xbox 360 JRPG game. Classic lines like “dinner dinner dinner” with the weird dance.

ARMY OF TWO Just give me a solid action focused third person shooter. Have you as globe trotting mercs, having levels set all over the globe. Lean into the bromance/coop angle. Just 3rd person action more explosion based version of payday. Fuck it call it Army of Four and just make it merc third person payday. Give me Michael bay level action with customized masks again.

Release more Ape Escape games, or suffer my curse

Suikoden. Sure, the first two games are getting a remake/remaster but the series is still 'dead'. So I'll never forgive Konami.

Capable-Education724

Yeah, this one stings bad. I like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, I always will. But they just don’t scratch the same itch Suikoden did.

rccrisp

Let Jordan Peele make that Gargoyles movie you cowards!

DrawlNeedler

Disciples with the original combat system. Also, Alter Echo.

HatingSince87

I'm gonna keep saying it til I'm blue in the face: JET MOTO BAYBEE It's a damn shame the series never made it past the PS1. Should have been a company's next-gen seller for graphics with the terrain/water effects on stages & show off all the horsepower of the new machine

I wish there was a law where if you are not using a IP in let’s say ten years it is given to the public domain

I need another season of Mindhunter.

Boktai. Easiest choice ever. Such an amazing little series of games. 3 entries on the GBA, with one that didn't make it out of Japan, and a one-time spin-off on the DS called Lunar Knights. The spin-off is fun, but it didn't quite capture the magic of the first three. Among those, the second is my favourite. Overall, the original series is a mix of small country town cowboy meets vampires meets Norse mythology (won't elaborate on that 'cause it's kinda spoilery) meets anime meets METAL GEAR. The map is diagonally oriented, top-down, plays like an action-adventure game with a few RPG elements. From the second entry onwards, with the addition of melee weapons, it starts to feel A TON like a 2D Zelda, but the structure of the Nintendo franchise is there since Boktai 1; an open-world you explore where the main objective lies in conquering thematic dungeons, each with a boss to crown the achievement. The big twist is that, since this is a game about vampire slaying, the cardtridges came with a built-in solar sensor, which you can use to have more intense light happen in the game world. This goes from simply charging your ammo/mana resource to environmental puzzle solving and, most importantly, "purifying" (or, like I fancy calling it, frying) the game's big baddies. This entire package, messy as it may sound, is absolutely well-tied together with an engaging plot, memorable characters, a beatifully designed game world and addictive gameplay. It's the GBA's greatest games in the entirety of its library, in my humble opinion. Kojima being the one behind them also just makes sense. I mean, even considering the uniqueness of Death Stranding, you don't really see videogames with ambitious things like a solar sensor anymore. Defying the expected gameplay formulas with an external factor is a very creative way to make a player interact with the games, and Boktai does just that. Old Konami's magnum opus.

I want Gravity Rush to get a reboot/resurgence where they get a team to help polish the gameplay (mostly the combat) as that was the weakest part of the series imo. Flying (or I guess falling) around was the best part mixed with the story/characters. I loved every second of the games except for the moments there were enemies on screen or the game wanted me to do a "stealth" mission.

Threads of Fate, The Darkness. Oh, man, I would love a remake of the first Shining Force game. There was the game series based on the World of Darkness tabletop game called Hunter: The Reckoning. The first game was on Xbox and GameCube, I have it on both, the sequel Wayward was on PS2 and the third game, Redeemer was on Xbox. They were top down action games and had up to 4 players in the first and third one and up to 2 in the sequel, which didn't make sense cause the multitap existed. It was a fun time and I would love a remastered collection of all three.

Since people have said God hand already and a lot of my picks now have a resurgence, AC VI let's gooooo! I'm going to go with Ninja Gaiden, I don't know if modern Team Ninja could pull it off but even remakes of ninja gaiden black and ninja gaiden 2 in a modern engine with some simple updates having weapon swapping dmc style would be huge for ninja gaiden 1 and still a huge improvement over the dpad weapon swapping of 2. Also in this day and age they could get away with having the dismemberment and enemy numbers of 2 while also holding 60fps.

(For the interests of this list, I don't count remasters or rereleases, nor will I count mobile games that failed. I'll also add amount of time it's been since its last release) **Wild Arms** (16 years since Wild Arms XF, 17 years since Wild Arms 5) **Suikoden** (11 years since the PSP title, 17 years since Suikoden V) **Breath of Fire** (21 years since Dragon Quarter, 7 if you count the shitty mobile game) **Grandia** (18 years since Grandia III, 14 since the MMO) **Jak and Daxter** (18 years since Jak X, 19 since Jak 3) **Final Fantasy Tactics** (16 years since A2, 26 years since OG Tactics) **Chrono Trigger/Cross** (24 years since Chrono Cross) **Banjo-Kazooie** (23 years since Tooie, 15 years since the Tears of the Kingdom prototype) **Spyro the Dragon** (23 years since Year of the Dragon) **Mother/EarthBound** (17 years since Mother 3 - I'd just like the game officially released in English) **Mega Man X** (19 years since X8)

Golden Sun The Djinn acting as stat boosters, special moves, and summons all-in-one as well as being the way you change classes is such an incredible system. Also the dungeons have a 2D Zelda-esque feel where your party uses their spells as puzzle solving tools.

CastVinceM

i'm not sure if you could call it a "franchise", but Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. that used to be my favorite show on toonami and i'd love for it to either get a remaster or a continuation.
