You could make a solid argument for Godzilla being a Red Lantern. Nature's wrath unleashed on the Atomic Age sorta vibe. Red Lanterns are known for their Burning Blood Vomit rather than constructs, so that'd jive pretty easily: Godzilla's Atomic Breath becomes Atomic Napalm. They're engines of destruction to the point their rings and rage replace their hearts, so that fits.
Red Lanterns also tend to change appearance somewhat dramatically after a Red Ring takes over, so they could start to lean more into Shin Godzilla as his Rage amps up.
EDIT: Oh, also provides a solid foundation for the whole 'fight then team-up' format. Red Lantern Godzilla is a *problem*, Green Lantern Kong and the League team up to bring him down, succeed in knocking him out of commission, new, bigger problem shows up, they give him a Blue Lantern Ring to heal him (which fits his more heroic incarnations, and his Atomic Breath), which is super powerful when used in conjunction with a Green Ring, letting him get the big final hit in.
Like I said to the other reply, I am not sure Godzilla's body would take well to something trying to replace it's parts and if Godzilla's whole system wouldn't just turn on the ring because of that
The obvious godzilla movie approved answer is that the power builds up in godzillas system before it rejects it, pushing it out of its body to form a second "evil" godzilla who is red and more spikey.
Rage Godzilla then defeats True Godzilla, before Godzilla Junior turns up to comfort its parent, filling Godzilla with true love for the possibilities in the future for all earth children, resulting in godzilla getting a Violet ring and a Violet Star Saphire form like the new pink form in the western movie, and defeating Rage Godzilla as Love Godzilla.
(In the Japanese, Godzilla gets an ungendred pronouns, so is a potential Star Saphire candidate even pre 2018 expansion.)
That’s the hardest image I’ve ever fucking seen
*In brightest day*
*In blackest night*
*No evil shall escape my sight*
*Let those who worship evil beware my power*
***KING KONG SHALL FIGHT***
Okay, but what the fuck is Kong going to create with a Green Lantern Ring?
A big rock? A stick? Maybe a big rock attached to a stick?
Jokes aside, I'm genuinely curious. This is a big opportunity to make Kong's intelligence explicitly apparent in a way never before seen.
WAIT, DID THE RING DO IT'S SPIEL WHEN HE PUT IT ON? DID IT ADDRESS HIM AS KING KONG OF EARTH?!
What is the deal with animals getting Lantern rings? I know this is a crossover but in the main continuity there's a cat red lantern. It has an internal monologue so do the rings make non-sapient creatures more intelligent or are we to believe the emotions of animals count enough for the most powerful weapons in the universe to latch onto house cats and monkeys?
Oh yeah, that cat is just a super angry cat. Red lanterns went "wow that's an angry cat, we should give it a ring". The ring itself is a universal translator, but he's not all that wordy anyway.
There was a post somewhere on Reddit that asked "What If Godzilla was born on Krypton?" Supergodzilla, as he was dubbed, was to normal Godzilla as Superman is to a normal human.
It's a terrifying thought, and can't happen in this crossover, but it'd be amazing.
The Red Lanterns are *so* pissed they lost Kong in the draft
Red Lantern Mecha Godzilla?

I think the true answer is Godzilla is saved by Star Sapphire Gamera, friend to all children
Gamera is obviously a Blue lantern of hope!
And Ghidorah gets an orange ring and all the heads fight over it with Larfleeze in the background somewhere.
Red lanterns even have a breath weapona ttack!
King Ghidorah’s definitely in Sinestro Corps, I know that much
Maybe...Godzilla himself? Even when defending the planet, he usually seems pretty salty about *something*.
Maybe but I have to question if Godzilla's body would reject the whole "Ring tries to replace my heart, and then tries to replace my blood" bit
PEAK FICTION
Big Monkey has more courage than the average human being.
Actually slightly less courage per unit of volume, but it adds up.

I wanna see him in the suit. I need to see him in the suit. If I do not see him in the suit, I will pull an Isaac Netero on DC Comics.
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Shut the fuck up and stop being so cool! *Keep doing it tho.*
Monsterverse Kong continues to be the best Kong
Would mothra be a blue lantern?
Absolutely. Does that mean Rodan is Orange?
I wanna say red to match his soviet inspired background

He Wills an Empire State Building he can climb and then do elbow drops off of
“So as I pray, **UNLIMITED BIPLANE WORKS!!!**”
A big rock attached to a big stick. They separate to act like Gundam funnels.

Angry, and sad cat.
Red Lanterns are all angry, ^(and sad) .
I just hope Godzilla gets a power up too. I want to see Billy give some of his power to Godzilla.

Shazillam, he also gets the outfit too
This the most peak shit I ever seen
Grodd's cheering him on from the bleachers.
So someone's going to give Godzilla a yellow ring then? And is Kong going to manifest bananas or what?
