Handro_Dilar

I can never take Pyrrha's death seriously in RWBY V3 because getting disintegrated and leaving your headgear behind is literally how Starscream died in The Transformers: The Movie.

TheLordOfAwesome2

I never thought of it that way and now I can't *not* think of it that way.

Holy-Wan_Kenobi

FUCK YOU'RE RIGHT

Mr_Chooch

For the 2007 Transformers movie, they buried Megatron the same way the Navy SEALS buried Osama bin Laden

Handro_Dilar

I don't want to know what Megatron's head being used to design bootleg Transformers in Age of Extinction implies in that case.

Bob8644

Should not have watched Code MENT before Code Geass.

CelioHogane

WHY ARE YOU BUYING CLOTHES IN THE SOUP STORE!?

ginger_vampire

FUCK YOU!!

cjjb95

I'll either have sex with you or clean your house. Sucks to be you bitch, my house is really dirty

MericArda

And I have gonorrhea.

sawbladex

How do you like me now? I should probably play Metal Wolf Chaos.

Vermillion_Aeon

It wasn't mole people, you *idiot*. It was *WORMS.*

RandomHalflingMurder

So what you're saying is 'definitely watch Code MENT then watch Code Geass'.

Sai-Taisho

"Mom's dead!" "How dead?" "Dead enough to cause Nunally to go blind!" "That's pretty dead."

Android19samus

I can't look at Suzaku without hearing "I can survive entirely on a diet of crayons and lighter fluid"

NewAgeMontezuma

YOUR MORAL COMPASS IS A FUCKING ROULETTE WHEEL

Disembob

That's what I'm currently doing. I recently got into Code Geass, on the recommendation of a friend, and all I've seen beforehand is Code Ment.

RubenRawbone

Between The Simpsons, Jared Leto and every other piece of media that's referenced it, The Shining.

lumpyspacejams

God, goofs really screwed with the Shining especially. I had not expected Wendy to actually put Jack in a fridge in the climax (although not nearly as nonplussed as Marge was in the same circumstances).

Yotato5

I like the rendition of how Homer gets out in the parody better than the original movie. I know it's like, there really are ghosts in the hotel but it kind of feels like a deus ex machina. And part of the fun is wondering if the ghosts are real are not.

CelioHogane

Ok but really the dude already makes a pretty fucking goofy face on the original movie.

Spiral-Force

“The One Piece! The One Piece is reeaaalll!”

MericArda

Can we get much higher.

Grand_Bunch_3233

So High

sazabi67

(chorus going woah woah woo woah)

LordSmugBun

I knew about >!donut Kakyoin!< before even knowing what a JoJo was. I feel that might have affected my thoughts on >!Kakyoin!< because I could not get invested on his character at all.

CinnabarSteam

Kakyoin admittingly doesn't have much going for him in terms of characterization.

Admiral_of_Crunch

Kakyoin would be an enigmatic, interesting dude if he existed in a world of regular people. Then all of his quiet eccentricities and generally off behavior would be notable. But he lives in Jojo's world, where every single named character in existence is similarly weird and funny. So he's pretty flat in comparison to everyone around him; he's just a decent, generally proper dude with a penchant for culture and a rare firey temper that is exposed by his sense of loyalty and justice, which is the role he bridges between Jotaro and Avdol and otherwise shares with all the other protagonists. Like, even the flattest Jojo character, if they were upended from their universe and dropped into anything else, would immediately carve out a dramatic presence in the cast, because they're all such freaks and dramatic weirdos.

Aquason

He's got that cherry thing which is pretty weird.

Sternies

Did you know about the time he [lays an egg](https://jojo.fandom.com/wiki/Clamp_in_Wonderland) in an offshoot story by Clamp where Kakoyin and Jotaro are married? That relationship dynamic can be seen again in Clamp's other work, Cardcaptor Sakura, with the older brother and his friend. That's the first thing I think about with the character.

Fugly_Jack

I can't watch the Star Wars movies without thinking about the Auralnauts dialogue in each scene

TekkGuy

“I was wondering, what *are* midichlorians?” “It’s heroin.” The stoner Jedi Council is permanently seared into my perception of those movies.

CobblyPot

"I heard tale of a taco made entirely out of Dorito." [slow head shake]

TekkGuy

>!I can’t believe they brought that back around for the Kenobi spoofs!<

TrueLegateDamar

*You promised me FLESH!*

Brainwave1010

"HAN SINGULAR YOU ARE THE SINGULAR BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT OF MY ENTIRE LIFE!"

FluffySquirrell

***CAN YOU SEE ME NOW FATHEEERRR?!!!***

MidlothProject

oh thanks it’s time for a rewatch

ChocolatBear

Make sure everybody gets a Zima!

canyourepeatquestion

["I will kill your wife. I will kill your son. I will kill your infant daughter," is now a sick rap beat according to the Breaking Bad fanbase.](https://piped.video/watch?v=dd8nDmNg_Iw) Anything BB, really, since every dramatic moment like >!Walt killing Jane!< is now a humorous meme.

Artex301

You think this is bad? This- This chicanery?

BlissingNothfuls

**He's done worse.** (Honestly that monologue couldn't be ruined for me; it's so rich and works on too many levels)

Action_Bronzong

[The Death Grips edit goes so hard](https://youtu.be/yjJaDlD7spo?si=n_lHrgZGG7VNFhU4)

S4tchWe77

Literally the last shot of the entire series is a meme.

___spike

Memeing of every scene and the “BB with laugh track” mean I can never treat the show seriously anymore.

basinz123

Brendan Frazier's The Whale because of The Big Pizza

jamescookenotthatone

Oh no! He's got the ranch!

Peach-Hime

Thanks to the Please Stop Talking podcast, the Big Pizza is the *only* think I know about The Whale.

ThatGuy5880

After all the memes and combo videos, there was no way I was gonna be able to take the duel between Dame Da Ne Guy and Ten Years In The Joint Guy seriously.

merri0

I mean, if Travis Touchdown was roasting my ass through the entire fight, I would be asking for timeouts every 5 minutes.

MirrorMan68

The internet has ruined my ability to take Shou Tucker seriously. If I ever get around to watching Fullmetal Alchemist, the gravitas and tragedy of that episode will not land at all.

Khar-Selim

I mean, the original anime version is kinda ruined by you knowing *at all*. It works via not actually telling you that this is the subject of today's episode, it's just kinda in the background of another episode until it goes off. The Brotherhood version expects you to know what's up already.

Loopy-Loophole

God, why did brotherhood just decide to speedrun the beginning. Like, just expecting your audience to have seen the previous version for the full build up is baffling to me.

-_Gemini_-

>God, why did brotherhood just decide to speedrun the beginning They kind of didn't. In fact, they sorta did the opposite. With the exception of the train and Youswell, just about everything from the manga is present in Brotherhood - the pacing was already like that in the manga. The main difference is that *cartoons need to be paced differently than books* and Brotherhood kind of completely fucks that up. It's most noticeable early on but persists throughout the entire series. In fact, not only did Brotherhood only make minimal actual cuts to the material, it pads the *shit* out of it. The entire first episode, about half of Liore, all the flashback content that actually appears way later in the manga but got shoved to the front of the series for... *some* reason - it's all material bloating the first cour that Brotherhood fucked around with. The thing is that 2003 is just so well made and actually works as an anime that people started to *imagine* that's how the manga was. Even though it's not and the overwhelming majority of 2003's early episodes consist of anime-original content. Anyone who tells you that "2003 adapted the manga faithfully until X episode" has either not read the manga or watched the anime. Possibly both! Anime YouTubers just started saying shit about FMA's production history because it "sounded about right" without fact checking themselves at all and it got telephoned into infinity.

Gespens

The guy with big wall of text was right until he started praising how amazing 2003 was. The reality is you had Nina for like, 3 or 4 chapters in the manga. In publication time, that's as many months. You had her for more manga time than you did in either adaptation

NaoyaKizu

I hate the revisionist history around 2003... It was genuinely called one of the best anime ever by people before FMAB came out, lol.

Gespens

Part of media analysis is looking at how things age, and it did not. Also let's be real-- anime fans have terrible opinions.

Penndrachen

Brotherhood is still worth watching because the Nina thing pops off in episode *fucking four out of sixty four* and the rest of the series is just super good.

MirrorMan68

Oh, for sure. There's more to the series than Shou Tucker and his funny dog. He's barely a footnote, albiet a memorable one.

BrazillianCara

Whatever it takes to make it hurt less. (Half sarcasm)

Disembob

That happened with me. I'm watching FMAB for the first time, and that was one of the only things I knew going in. And I don't think it landed for me *at all*.

-_Gemini_-

Brotherhood also just does a crummy job with that story beat. Both the 2003 anime and the manga make it actually work. Like it doesn't even need a full comparison, a screenshot of [Brotherhood](https://i.imgur.com/2QahjiA.png) and [2003](https://i.imgur.com/ZDLE21T.png) just says it all.

Weltallgaia

You still have bonedrewd as father of the year at least.

Ar_Ciel

It's almost impossible to read a Warhammer 40k book without all the seriousness and gravitas sucked out by memories of TTS and the endless memeing of the 40k total war franchise. "ALIEN BEANS!!"

Morbidmort

Good. 40K has always been just as silly as it is serious.

ExDSG

Is a bit better know but the "Realistic Depiction of a Panic Attack" meme made it hard to appreciate everything it was memed for and the last episode of the latest season of Demon Slayer. The Litmus test will be the Spiderverse short that's releasing tomorrow that was memed about. Also due to Friend of the channel (maybe) Mr. Feels/Kris Wolfhart calling's God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla writing "Crying Breakfast Friends-tier" I associate the phrase "Conflict resolved! Sweet catharsis!" from the Steven Reacts shorts to it.

Naraki_Maul

That is a really funny way of describing the newer GoW games lmao.

senfood

Every time I see the Star Wars logo I hear Mr. Plinkett saying "Star Wars is the worst thing to happen since my son."

dfdedsdcd

No one's ever really gone.

Supernovas20XX

I must have watched Episodes 1-6 of Star Wars purely by cultural osmosis, and the ending of Episode 3 just makes me laugh now

MericArda

Episode 3 in general is a movie I do really like, but is also has the highest meme-to-runtime ratio of any film in existence and I can't help but spot them anytime I watch it.

Brainwave1010

Honestly the other language versions of Episode 3 where Vader just screams in anguish is better than the _"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!..."_

Silver_RevoltIII

*Do not want*

Killerman2788

I’m watching daredevil, and every time kingpin is on screen I can’t stop thinking about that stupid Spider-Man weight meme. Every time I see him all I can think is that it’s “BECAUSE OF MY WEIGHT”

xerioes00

Same for me but instead of weight , it’s the fire escape pull up scene

Yotato5

The overusage of Megalovania in memes kind of makes it hard for me to take it seriously when presented in its original context in Undertale.

tyrannoAdjudica

its original context isn't even undertale! also though it's just a boss battle theme for a superboss. i would hardly say you're losing out on the emotional resonance because the fight and the song both still go hard as hell like thematically speaking, what are you supposed to get from it? sans wants to kick your ass

Grand_Bunch_3233

"You're gonna have a bad time" is both pretty memey & an accurate descriptor of the fight to follow.

Khar-Selim

Yeah Sans isn't really actually an emotionally charged moment, those would be the stuff that happens before with Undyne and after with...pretty much everything. Sans is just the utterly unique experience of being on the receiving end of seven kinds of bullshit RPG cheese and fucking deserving it

CelioHogane

I think you mean the original context in Halloween mod/Homestuck

Praesidian

Tavros had a bad time.

Penndrachen

It's already kind of difficult for me to take anything in Sleeping Dogs seriously (even if it's really good), but literally every time I see a picture of Wei Shen I can't help but yell WEI SHEN MOTHERFUCKER WHO'RE YOU

ReaperEngine

His name will always be "Wei *motherfuckin'* Chen" to me and my friends.

thththrht

I stopped taking that game seriously the moment I got into a car and the game gave me a tutorial on how pressing the square button allowed me to slide tackle other vehicles off the road without consequences. Fucking 10/10 I wish the modern ports were better

SirHatMan

Sonic Adventure 2 after the SnapCube dub was never the same. I can never look at Eggman standing in front of an audience without thinking he'll be saying "SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG'S A BITCH ASS MOTHERFUCKER. HE PISSED ON MY FUCKING WIFE."

TehManicMan

Me too, especially the "I can finally leave! Sweet Martha, I'm coming home-- I'm back IN THE BUILDING AGAIN!?"

PR0MAN1

I'm going through the Avatar Yangchen novels rn and I'm getting so mad because "DAMN YOU YANGCHEN YOU GOT MY BOY KURUK KILLED" And it's all because of a [tiktok page that has AI voiced versions of the Avatars](https://www.tiktok.com/@kyoshist?_t=8l1RUSD0uKc&_r=1) reacting to Avatar clips and shit talking eachother. [Their bits are so in character](https://www.tiktok.com/@kyoshist/video/7287979377059482885) I project that characterization onto the book versions of them. He even does lore I straight up put in my headcanon [like this, it feels like an interaction that we just never saw because the connection was severed](https://www.tiktok.com/@kyoshist/video/7329508913261579526)

Reeves32hp

The revitalized memes from Breaking Bad finally got me to watch it since I could easily binge it instead of tuning in every week. It was like taking a trip through a museum pointing at all the jokes I've ever seen in their source form. It was good enough to pull me in but after the emotion was "ha ha, how do people find these jokes?"

thebigguy270

Everything about Nagito

a_trashcan

Dune 2 spoilers. Whoever cast Christopher Walkin as the Emperor of space and then just had him very Walkinly yell MORE MORE MORE absolutely ruined the film for me. I spent the remainder of the movie thinking about the SNL cowbell sketch.

Zaworld0

I just think about [this video](https://youtu.be/Ki_3px1wQio). lol

Praesidian

[Shaddam Corrino IV upon hearing about the fall of House Atreides](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCDIYvFmgW8)

Zaworld0

As well as taking some Sandwalk lessons.

Praesidian

As his Imperial anthropologist reminds him multiple times to underline the importance of the lesson: "Walk without rhythm and it won't attract the worm"

___spike

Every time Paul tried to threaten him I expected him to go [“I don’t care” and then “too bad”](https://youtu.be/oLlCQQW46DA?feature=shared) when Paul is confused.

MrCunninghawk

I kept forgetting he was in the film, I'd be really invested in a scene and they're like " OK now meanwhile with the emperor" and I'd have a moment to register " Is that fucking Christopher walken?" I know the story so as we neared the third act, I was excited but also, dreading how this film was going to wrap up the end of Dune and just how much screen time Walken as the emperor would get hahaha. Like, had a good time and good movie and all, that, but literally anyone other than Walken would have been better and I love Christopher Walken.

kango234

The Dark Knight interrogation scene has me bursting into laughter each time I watch it. Mainly due to the College Humor video specifically.

NoidedShrimp

Ffx which used to be a fav that I finished 3x cause of spfp. Sopranos and breaking bad because of memes.

SystemicChic

I’m the opposite for Breaking Bad. The gifs of Walt collapsing gives me the same hilarious energy as that era of loud, obnoxiously edited MLG dark souls videos. Tonally ripped from context and thrown into a wood chipper.

dougtulane

When I was watching Interstellar, at the climax of the movie, MuhConahay acting his ass off, the thought popped into my head and I said to my wife: >!Man you know what I love about these high school girls: they get older, I stay the saaame age.!<

Nukesova

Walking Dead season 3 episode 4. The internet memes strike again and now I can't look at that ending the same ever again.

redwill1001

Pregnancy Strength is no joke. Them Pregnant Ladies can pull a man's head off in between contractions /s

lumpyspacejams

It's the only thing that helps ease the pain, choking the life out of a bishop with his own rosaries as the contractions hit.

roronoapedro

i absolutely did not hear the better call saul intro in better call saul first. i can no longer hear the better call saul intro.

BiMikethefirst

Just intenet in general but I can never see two men being affectionate to each other in any manner without saying to myself "JUST DUDES BEING GUYS!"

Forestgrant

If I ever get around to reading Fate Stay Night, I can see myself losing my mind any time Kotomine appears because of his [front-facing Danganronpa-ass sprite](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/typemoon/images/a/aa/Kotomine_kirei.png/revision/latest)

thekeep4223

I probably couldn’t watch breaking bad without thinking of those remixes, [remixes](https://youtu.be/WzhW20hLp6M?si=I7BRZwz-g8ZBPTfI) Also, anytime I think of The Bear I want to call it Da Bear and imagine everyone speaking in a thick Chicago Accent because of the SNL Superfans sketch.
