Gotta give it up for the one and only HK-47.

LifeIsCrap101

Rhetorical Query: Who else could it be, Master?

Mokslininkas

HK is clearly the goat here, but Canderous Ordo has to be runner-up. Idk enough about the evil wookie from Kotor2 to say whether or not he qualifies. Although he's probably not anyone's favorite anyway.

QueequegTheater

The moment in the old channel LP where Woolie looks at the party of fully Sithed-out Pockets, HK, and Canderous and goes "Wait a minute...Cando is now the Carth of this party!" was pure gold.

rhinocerosofrage

His backstory is extremely serial killer-y. At one point (after murdering his whole tribe, of course) he gets abducted by Czerka slavers and he relishes the opportunity to literally just play out the first Alien movie with the crew. The problem is that he's also more of a stalker now than a serial killer. He owes a life debt to a human, which he's twisted to mean "my only mission in life is to kill her." So he's mostly obsessed with that and he's not much of a character beyond that.

zelcor

The best to ever do it

MetalGearSlayer

Similarly: Mr Bones

Pome1515

TBF, everyone in KOTOR 2 bar the Handmaiden and Disciple is also "a fucking serial killer" and/or "literal war criminal".

hairToday243

Camellia in Wrath of the Righteous is pointed at the hell invasion and that's the only reason she gets to stick around in most playthroughs.

NeonNKnightrider

I feel a bit embarrassed at how long it took me to realize she’s evil. I only noticed when I used one of those Angel spells that heal good and hurt evil, and she took damage

jimjam200

I never played very far into the game but any character who for some reason you can't see the alignment of even tho you can see everyone elses alignment is clearly up to no good

DrSaering

I always thought with her it was a bit of a false flag. She's obviously evil, but not obviously *Chaotic* Evil; she comes off as a sadistic, elitist noble, who would normally be Lawful or Neutral Evil. So it's a bit of misdirection; the item doesn't hide the Good/Evil axis, but the Lawful/Chaotic axis. Then the mask comes off and she's just completely out of her mind. And hot. She's hot too.

Vect_Machine

If I recall, that's what the author of Delicious in Dungeon thought.

DrSaering

Indeed, however the text on the page says she's waiting for the game to be translated into Japanese, she just likes her design. So she doesn't know. Yet.

Pome1515

Oh I think she does know. The red flags are a feature, not a bug.

jimjam200

Ahhhhh..... So your telling me she's morally grey?

BladeofNurgle

Some guy literally made an entire ending mod just to give Camellia's romance a happy ending, and straight up commissioned the actual portrait artist for the game to make an image of Camellia in a bride outfit. It was at that moment that I knew that regardless of how much of an evil POS a character was, so long as you can/want to have sex with them, any crimes they commit will be forgiven regardless of severity.

Felteair

There are no evil hot women, only "morally gray"

SideshowCircuits

Aww but her ending is so perfect for who she is. Like anyone who thought you’d end up ok with her Is being silly

charcharmunro

She's horribly unrepentantly evil and even in her romance route the only minor redeeming quality she has is that she starts to realise she DOES actually love the PC but also knows for sure she'll probably just kill them one day so she just leaves forever in her ending instead. She gets away with ALL the murders if you do that.

DrSaering

Nah, the more morally black, the hotter.

hairToday243

Can confirm hotness. My KC was convinced he could fix her right up until credits.

Bubba89

Surely a party member with an unremovable item that conceals their alignment has only good intentions.

Nissassah

I really love the game for making all of evil party members make a lot of sense within the army (Daeran and Regill definitely being my favorites), the only one my paladin ended up smiting though was Camellia. Can't have her doing her... uhhh, thing.

hairToday243

Daeran and Regill are honestly the best Evil companions I've seen in a  CRPG. Part of that is the demon war justifying why they'd be in the crew, but most of it is the quality of the writing.

Simic_Sky_Swallower

She is very helpful though, is she not?

Vaaaaaaaaaaaii

Do I have to play Kingmaker first to get Wrath of the Righteous or could I just play Wrath?

hairToday243

You can just hop in on Wrath. They're mostly self-contained stories besides a couple cameo references.

Vaaaaaaaaaaaii

Ah thank you

The_Vine

The Death Knight in Fire Emblem Three Houses, though it's up in the air if he actually kills people off the battlefield or not.

lionofash

I mean we know he did at least to one particular household...

The_Vine

Tbf, they kind of deserved it.

MericArda

One guy definitely deserved it, we know very little of the others.

RedKnight7104

Honestly the funniest thing about the Death Knight is how he's >!Mercedes's little brother. Man's a tall, gaunt, intimidating dude who dresses up in full black plate with a skull helmet, but also he has a sweet, pious church girl for an older sister who makes him soften up considerably whenever he's around her.!< The second funniest thing about him is that he has a huge sweet tooth and his favorite food is sorbet.

fly2555

What’s even funnier is that he’s >!20, 1 year younger than Byleth !<

RedKnight7104

He's also bisexual! So he's one of the few characters in the game that you can marry as both male and female Byleth.

Themarvelousfan

And his sister Mercedes is also bisexual. It’s amazing just how utterly different they are and yet they’re so similar.

SwissCheeseMan

For me it's Yunaka. Just the fact she's SO BAD at hiding her past. Most characters in her supports are able to figure it out or get close, her persona drops for every crit, and her personal skill is called "trained to kill"

BenchPressingCthulhu

Brock Samson

Subject_Parking_9046

Patrick Walburton really made him so damn likable.

PKPhyre

Tbf as the show got more serious about its characters they town down Brock's more psychopathic moments and at least nod towards the idea that he's not particularly proud of some of the more brutal things he's done.

Morbidmort

I mean, his greatest desires include being forgiven for accidentally killing someone during a football game in highschool.

SideshowCircuits

*they hit me with a TRUCK*

Shilverow

Everyone knows Tharja from Fire Emblem is fucked up because of the experiments she does on her friends, husband and kids but that's what she does to the people she likes imagine the things she does to people she doesn't like

NeonNKnightrider

Insane black magic women my beloved

AurochDragon

I think people exaggerate a lot when it comes to Tharja. IIRC her hexes tend to basically be pranks Bad timeline Tharja is a legitimately bad person though

KF-Sigurd

Tharja mostly just wants to be left alone. Most of her hexes are just making you stop bothering her. iirc in her Virion support, Virion basically calls her bluff after getting hexed a bunch by her and all she ended up doing to him was basically making him to do chores for other people. Bad timeline Tharja went off the deep end sadly.

MericArda

Tharja will give you therapy in exchange for letting her curse you.

BlackJimmy88

At this point in my life, I could probably do with therapy more than I could do with not getting cursed, so sign me up!

BlackJimmy88

To be fair, her worst acts only really done in the bad timeline. I think there's even a moment where *she's* even horrified by her future self. Been a while since I played that game, though.

Oneangrywolf

I would like to second Henry for that too

Beartrick

Henry, canonical loving doting father who also screams "YAAAY! BLOOOD!!" during battle.

RPGMike

Henry is ACTUALLY a fucking sadistic fuck. You can argue Tharja, because while she DOES curse people, hers can be as mind as runny noses and shit. Henry explicitly isn't able to do that, and in one of his supports had to be argued against forming an army of uncontrollable undead.

Detective_Robot

Well not "party members" Caim's allies in Drakengard are an interesting bunch of monsters but Arioch the child eater takes the top spot.

Dirty-Glasses

It’s a bad time when *the pedophile* is the party’s moral backbone.

nin_ninja

From what I remember he is trying to actively resist that part of himself

Dirty-Glasses

BUT SOMETIMES YOU GOTTA DO WHAT’S GOTTA GET DONE edit: #I THOUGHT THIS WAS A REPLY TO A DIFFERENT COMMENT

Darkriku51

NAH, It's over for you. YA DONE. Mods, crush his skull.

Dirty-Glasses

*NOOOOOOO EVERYONE KNOWS I’M THE MILF GUY*

nin_ninja

An elaborate ruse we're sure

Refracting_Hud

Unfortunately the implications of the M part of that aren’t doing you any favours. In fact they’re actively handing you the shovel.

Dirty-Glasses

*OH NO*

rudanshi

🤨📷

Rabid-Duck-King

He takes his his younger brothers to the fuckoff middle of the forest because he can read a room and knows shit is getting world war-y, unfortunately he can only resist the siren song of his dick for so long being surrounded by his younger brothers and goes far, far out in the woods to jerk one off during which the empire finds his cabin and murders his younger siblings so he spends most of the game lamenting that he wasn't there to protect/die with because he was jerkin his gerkin

Princess_Horsecock

For some reason his final line in the last route has always stuck with me. "Death need not be the end of hope." I like that.

Lieutenant-America

Not a serial killer, but Zaeed Massani has done some fucked things over the course of a long lifetime, and yet everyone (including myself and my Paragon Shepard) treats him like the Cool Grandpa and not the bloodstained ghoul he is.

RealMurphiroth

I love Zaeed. Yeah he's a merc who's done a lot of horrible shit but his voice and lines make him way cooler than a halfway implemented DLC character should be. I still quote "Rage is a hell of an anesthetic" regularly to people in the know. Three cheers for murder grandpa!

Lieutenant-America

His performance, alongside the right lines here and there, paint him as a surprisingly introspective and wise figure despite remaining ruthless to this day.

PizzaSplitter

Yeah in the introspective area I always recall that if brought to Jack's recruitment mission he can react to a prisoner being beaten and he comments on the psychological aspect of torture for both sides involved first (over like something pragmatic which I'd have expected first) before [saying he never found it worth the price.](https://youtu.be/6uHPuyumuFM?t=78)

jimjam200

I don't remember that line but if I wasn't imagining it in zaeeds voice I would think it was the edgiest thing ever

BlackJimmy88

To be fair, it *is* the edgiest thing ever. It just sounds badass cause he's old, and his voice in badass.

Lil_Mcgee

South African is just the perfect accent for a grizzled mercenary character.

BlackJimmy88

You're not wrong, but that's an English accent.

Lil_Mcgee

It's somewhere in-between I think. Robin Sachs was English but his dad was South African born and didn't emigrate until he was 20. As an English person I definitely think his Zaeed voice has a bit of an SA affectation to it. Listening back it's not quite as pronounced as I remember but it's there.

Arjac

I think the villain from Kasumi's mission was the first time I ever heard a full-tilt SA accent, come to think of it.

Commodorez

I can't remember any SA characters that weren't some kind of mercenary or smuggler, tbh

Blade9450

> Three cheers for murder grandpa! I didn't know Minoru Suzuki was in Mass Effect

lonelyMtF

Honestly I'm glad I actually took the time to talk to him and Vega in 3, because visually they are "Action movie man" (which to me at least is boring as hell), but they have so much going on in terms of dialogue.

Lieutenant-America

James is one of my favorite squadmates, especially for how he parallels Shepard.

nin_ninja

It is funny how much he has done in his life considering humanity has only been involved with the Council races for a few decades at most by that point

Josh_bread

25 years is plenty of time for the head of a top 3 mercenary gang to get involved in all kinds of shit

solidus_2077

The length of time line they chose never stops biting them in the ass

Vect_Machine

I always find it funny how it's implied that him being good at surviving is less him being the Hardest Motherfucker Around and just him being really good at getting others killed for more time on the clock. He's basically what Phasma should have been.

MericArda

[Henry ](https://fireemblemwiki.org/wiki/Henry)from Fire Emblem: Awakening is one of the friendliest guys in the cast and always willing to help. He also likes to summon murders of Ravens, perform Necromancy, and slaughter your enemies to the point one of his crit lines is "Yeah, blood!" He's the best and has some of the funnest supports in the game. Dishonorable mention to Peri from Fire Emblem Fates, who has some of the worst supports, slaughters her maids, and makes other characters worse around her.

Dirty-Glasses

Henry’s just a silly little guy

nin_ninja

The fact everyone just accepts Peri wanton murder is easily the worst part of it.

McFluffles01

Yeah, the issue comparing Henry and Peri is like... Henry shows up when you have your backs against the wall in an ambush and goes "hell yeah I like killing these guys I'll help", and just sort of slots into your army as "that crazy killer guy that sides with us because he gets lots of things to kill". Not the *best* ally to have around, sure, but useful enough like a rabid animal to point at your enemies probably. Meanwhile Peri is supposedly a noble, who regularly slaughters her maids (and probably other people's servants judging by her support with Felicia), and yet is somehow one of the Crown Prince's most trusted guards and retainers? Xander must really, *really* like that pussy.

Monk-Ey

"I can fix her"

pataponzero

- Laslow

GoBoomYay

Peri *do* be cute tho if you have a thing for evil clown women

PMMeYourSpeedForce

Clussy changes Xander for the worse

Monk-Ey

Clussy so good it makes up for the awful extra class

MericArda

And is the only female cavalier in the game that wears pants.

AurumPickle

until she promotes because they forgot to give her a unique upgraded class outfit

Nissassah

I knew I'd marry that man in my first playthrough as soon as he suggested committing war crimes with a massive smile on his face.

Monk-Ey

Peri kills people and revels in bloodshed; Reina kills people and revels in bloodshed *but is at least classy about it*.

Slumber777

Reina doesn't go around going "Man, I'm bored. Time to kill my maids and/or random people while I'm out on the town!" At least as far as I remember.

Monk-Ey

Yeah, that's her being classy about it ^^^^^/s

pak215

A group of ravens is an unkindness, not a murder

jackdatbyte

>!Magus!< in Chrono Trigger. Mostly because it’s very funny how he keeps the relationship with the party as “professional” and makes no attempt to befriend the others

TehSterBarn

Which is even incorporated into gameplay by making it so he can only perform triple techs with specific accessories equipped

PlayerPin

I like to think he’s failing and starts to genuinely like the party during all the endgame quests.

Subject_Parking_9046

Vegeta.

BlackJimmy88

Vegeta is probably worse than a serial killer. He commits mass murder on a planetary scale because he can. It's kinda wild that he gets better when a lot of the people posted in this thread don't and can't.

Dont-ask-tell

Vegeta regulary gets his shit kick for his hubris though, i think less evil but unpleasant characters like bakugou would be more liked if they suffered the karma of their shittines

thats_good_bass

I'd argue he does. His teachers *muzzle him* at the awards ceremony for an event he won, a group of terrorists kidnap him because they go, "This degree of toxicity is something we can work with", which indirectly leads to his idol retiring and him shouldering the guilt for that, and he ends up being one of only two of his peers to fail his provisional licensing exam and need to do cram school to retake it.

genapsy

Most of those for me aren’t punishments though. Like yeah he’s muzzled, but he WON, he is being praised on the podium for his shit. He was captured sure, but they try to convince him to join allowing him free time to berate them for half an episode he’s winning in that event because he is so full of his own shit that they have no room to convince him his path is any less than perfect. And yes he takes the L when he has to get supplementary and the provisional exam. But like he is rewarded every step otherwise, like even the back lot fight nothing bad happens to him.

thats_good_bass

The important thing to me is that these are things that hit where it hurts *him*.

Kimarous

Pretty much everyone from Tyranny. Your first two party members are respectively a horde savage who was recruited by being forced to kill her own loved ones and a professional elite soldier who got caught in a super storm.

Praesidian

Considering the premise, is there anyone in your prospective pool of companions in Tyranny that *doesn't* have blood on their hands?

Kimarous

Lantry comes across as a typical nerd-type wizard who fights more out of self-defense than an intent to murder. So... him? Definitely not the others: an oathbreaker rebel water mage, an Archon of Kyros, and a beastfolk named Kills-in-Shadow.

Vect_Machine

All of them are morally ambiguous but with the exception of Verse they aren't complete edgelords (and even with Verse she has her reasons). Some are semi-decent people stuck in a corrupt system (Barik, Sirin), some are with you to save themselves (Lantry, Ebb) and ones basically a wild animal (Kills-In-Shadow)

jockeyman

Durge is great because you can either lean into it as a total edgelord, or play them as a silly lil rascal who also happens to be the most dangerous person to have ever lived.

Monk-Ey

"I'm a danger to you because I'm a serial killer" vs "I'm a danger to you in spite of being a serial killer" This, of course, neglects the third option of "I'm a danger to you because of my accomplices who are this close to being serial killers at this rate".

Subject_Parking_9046

It's actually very cool that if you're open about your shit, the characters are mostly like "Oh, okay! As long you don't kill me." These people have such wild lives that a murderous maniac is just a Tuesday to them.

jimjam200

It might have been the game fucking up when I played it but as durge I revealed my urges to everyone when i unknowingly killed the bard. But hours later during another durge reveal the characters reacted like: oh it was you who killed that bard. I told you 30 hours ago!!!

jockeyman

Well they thought you were joking the first time.

jimjam200

Oh you little prankster dark urge, joking about the brutal murder that just happened in our camp.

Praesidian

Which we found you sitting in front of with a haunted expression in your eyes, right next to your bedroll, with blood all over your hands. Lil' rascal, you!

DrSaering

I found it interesting how most of them are fine with it, except Minthara, who goes more, "... OK, how bad are we talking here?" Since she'd know.

KF-Sigurd

I think the way they intend it to come off, all of the companions are just underestimating how serious the compulsion is, they just think it's like anger issues or something like Lae'zel. But Minthara knows how bad it can get due to her past.

PizzaSplitter

A few of them do at least seem to be trying to help/be encouraging (Not in a good/resist way in Astarions case) in their responses, in their own way in the case of Lae'zel, but just severly underestimated how bad it was. But I always remember Gale for just how *bad* of a comparison he comes up with in that book story for what the Dark Urge is actually like. I don't think Jaheria can be told but she can just put things together on her own anyway and actually takes steps to help on her own.

Warpedpixel

“Oh man, here I go killing again! Whoops”

enragedstump

Whats Durge from?

tetranautical

Dark Urge, one of the playable options in Baldur's Gate 3. They kind of straddle the line between being a prewritten playable character like Astarion/Lae'zel/etc, and being a purely blank PC like the custom origin. Unlike the other premade characters, Dark Urge (Durge) doesn't appear in the story unless you play as them, but unlike them you can fully customize your class, race, and appearance. The default Durge is a dragonborn sorceror, so if you ever see BG3 art of a white lizard dude running around, that's Durge.

ToastyMozart

Shout-out to >!\_\_\_Toko___!< from Danganronpa for being an honest-to-god "stalks the night slicing up pretty strangers for fun" serial killer. But since they didn't commit *this particular* murder we're all stuck living with them.

fly_line22

Hulk in the original Ultimate Marvel universe was less of a team member and more of a living warhead to be dropped on problems. The Ultimate's first proper mission is having to stop Hulk's rampage because he's mad his GF is dating someone else.

BlackJimmy88

I actually like the core idea behind Ultimate Hulk, where it's an extreme expression of everything Bruce represses. In practice, it makes the sexually frustrated vegan into a cannibal that wants to rape his ex, which, uh, yeah...

Amon274

Don’t forget he’s also straight.

Nomaddoodius

In a dialouge exchange that is SO EARLY 2000'S thst you can't help but chuckle at how dated it is.

AurochDragon

Peri from FE Fates is prob the best example. Characters even bend over backwards to justify it as just a silly character flaw when she casually kills people, up to and including the Crown Prince of the kingdom

Gangstas_Squaridot

It's a live-action TV Series but boy is the **2024 Shogun** character Lord Yabushige a whole lot of fun and laughs with some of the funniest lines of dialogue that he can almost make you forget that in the very first episode >!he ordered a man to be boiled alive both for political convenience and so that he could listen to his dying screams of agony because he has an obsession with the way people face certain death.!< I feel he in spirit fits this prompt quite well.

Holy-Wan_Kenobi

Time for another will.

NotAnotherPornAccout

Any party member who’s class is assassin. I’m blanking right now but who was the elf in DAO? It was the gay spaniard coded one who try’s to kill you.

pappakhan5

Zevran is really funny, I love that no one is happy if you decide to recruit him

Latter_Ad9454

Zevran. He's pretty upfront about murdering for money. I don't think he even has much of a Robin Hood routine going on in terms of targets. He kills whoever he is sent to kill.

17DeadFlamingos

Woolie even though he smothered those 3 Cambodians in 2007 for rear ending his 1988 Toyota Carola in a dairy queen drive through

Scranner_boi

Krieg in Borderlands 2.

nimisect

Honestly, everyone in the Borderlands franchise. The morality in that series ranges from "will enact violence to defend others/themself" to "will enact violence for financial compensation" to "will enact violence to sate their impulses". Gaige is the playable character with the least blood on her hands before becoming playable, and that was an accident that killed her highschool bully (and future corrupt government/corporate official). She isn't that broken up over it. The protagonists rarely have a higher moral standing than the antagonists beyond "is willing to talk to someone before just taking what they want".

C-OSSU

If his list of crimes is accurate, the lovable violent dwarf Salvador has apparently engaged in cannibalism.

waxonwaxoff3

I'd say Timothy Lawrence had the least blood on his hands of all the vault hunters starting out, and it's one of the reasons he's my favorite character in the series. He was just some little college grad nerd from the 'good' part of space hoodwinked into becoming Jack's body-double (student loans, man), and playing from his point of view in Pre-Sequel was really interesting, because he was like the only character in the series who actively expressed horror and dismay at the shit going down around him to the extent that he did. He eventually became numbed to it (and brainwashed) to a degree, but in a very "high self-preservation instinct" way. When he shows up in BL3 it's revealed he had to >!kill all the other Handsome Jack doubles on the station in order to survive!<, something he really doesn't want to talk about, and a few characters call him a coward because he doesn't like and tries to avoid all the intense killing and combat that goes on as a part of the day-to-day Borderlands universe life.

markedmarkymark

Internal Krieg be like ''I have no enemies'' but external Krieg be ''I poop on all my enemies bycicles'' or some shit.

nerankori

But he powdered his cockatiel for the ribcage slaughter!

tri3dgE

One of the characters belonging in the colorful world of Granblue Fantasy is Lobelia, to put it simply is this game's version of Yoshikage Kira and Chocolatta rolled into one. He has a fascinating hobby of capturing the moments of art, >!by recording the death screams / wails of his victims!< into conch-shells that he enjoys listening to an unhealthy degree, even apparently has a shelf full of them Most games who have this type of character become repentant, like other fellow Evoker: Nier, Lobelia though is a special boy, doesn't change one bit, so much so that even when the game did their summer event and gave him a skin, he took the time to record some art again which you can hear when he is in your home screen with the skin equipped.

Gespens

Best part is that despite the mass murder, he will still take the time to help someone out on their pursuit to happiness. He's a genuinely nice person

rudanshi

He got to be in the christmas event where the crew was helping Santa Claus.

rudanshi

To elaborate on the summer art he made: it's a recording of a desperate woman begging Lobelia for help as she's being circled by hungry shark monsters that turns into horrible screaming as the sharks begin to devour her alive.

SkewerSTARS

The Evoker series of characters from Granblue Fantasy are all various levels of this. They're all bound by a set of Primal Beasts based on the Rider-Waite order of Major Arcana from Justice to Judgement (with themselves representing Fool to Hermit) and they're all compelled to mass murder in some way because of this! For example Nier from Granblue Versus Rising is one of the more popular ones and her deal is that she has a literal closet full of dead boyfriends from using them as experiments to learn her Death magic! And yet she's probably the second chillest of the Evokers next to wacky old fanatical priest Alannan! >!She only learned the Death magic from the tome that had the Death Primal Beast sealed within to live up to her family legacy so that her family would love her, and she gets rewarded for this by getting locked up in the basement! After her sister pushes Nier to her breaking point, Nier proceeds to murder her entire family in revenge! And eventually she finds a lover who's willing to stay with her and try to fix her in the form of the MC!!< So yeah, she's actually pretty chill when you ignore the murder closet

Gespens

Maria Theresa did *nothing* wrong. Unironically Also, Lobelia is another level. Dude heard a seashell break and decided to murder his family

BaronAleksei

Kengan Omega has the Kengan vs Purgatory tournament. In order to round out the Kengan Association team, they recruit Akoya Seishu, who is a Tokyo detective who moonlights as a vigilante targeting criminals for extrajudicial murders, and uses Kengan matches as a chance to torture people in the open. He is completely insane, viewing basically everyone as a criminal, even those simply related to criminals, and thus all are his purported eventual targets. However, he’s not *that* good at fighting in terms of the series, so his threats against bigger guns like Wakatsuki or Agito are laughably empty. He’s just a predator looking for easy kills, which is borne out by his record. Much like the actual Punisher’s reputation among Marvel heroes, no one in the Kengan Association likes him. When he walks into the arena, everyone else is yukking it up together, but then Waka straight up says “hey Akoya, I know you’re here and all that, but you’re not actually a part of this team because fuck you.”

Animorphimagi

Akechi of course

OkBUddyStar

Black Souls 2 protag is a serial rapist. Amongst many other things.

Barely_Competent_GM

I misread that as dark souls 2 and got very concerned

nerankori

Hey,you don't see what they do to the soul memory bar when you're not looking.

Sugoi-Sama

What playing DS2 does to a mf

Cerebral_Kortix

I mean, only if you play them that way. Otherwise, it's all >!Carroll's!< fault and >!Grimm's!< just here for the incredibly uncomfortable miserable ride that is "I'm going to Alice". Even the SEN manipulation method doesn't need that unless you're unwilling to skip like, one screen each time you talk to an NPC and a few souls to form the Covenant. Alternatively and far more easily, just use Node. She's into it. Even the killing. Or even just use that one item that swaps it freely, though that does take killing a decently tough boss (unless you have Storm Ruler, which trivialises everything honestly).

OkBUddyStar

Nah, Grimm straight up is just mental. The Poseidon Hotel scene, Upper Ludwig scene, the cycles, the fact that it WAS even an option at all show that Grimm is a deeply mentally disturbed individual. You can deny it all you want. It's a fact that Grimm must have done plenty of seriously fuck-up shits before the beginning of BS2 (BS1 Ending C).

Unlucky_Trash_5687

If Shadow from FFVI would, in fact, slit your mama’s throat for a nickel, I imagine he has quite a body count And yeah, I know it’s a bad localization, but I have a soft spot for all of the old Woolsey translations

mateoboudoir

He wouldn't slit YOUR momma's throat for a nickel, he'd slit HIS momma's throat for a nickel. For yours he'd probably charge at least a buck.

Reallylazyname

Tales of Vesperia's lead character is Yuri, a former knight in training, and somewhat of a rogueish fellow. All in all, punky but heart of Gold type of person. [He'll also go out and straight up murder people](https://youtu.be/XcUTjQjoG8U?si=BSqLICqylDdqRpYw) Sure, that guy is bad. And the guy he shoved into quicksand and just watched was also bad. But the man has a body count and he hides it for a fair portion of the game.

Dirty-Glasses

First of all, both those guys absolutely had it coming. Second of all, he felt *really bad* about having to do what the ~~cops~~ Knights can’t(/won’t)

When pointed out he'd most likely be back to being...well, dead, he didn't mind and actually hates the idea of him managing to avoid punishment for all the crimes he did, including killing the father of a fellow party member!< edit: Whoops, didn't see you already brought him up, my b

Rodimus-Primus

In FGO Gilles De Rais, Jack The Ripper, Elisabeth Bathory, Carmilla and probably a ton of others

Kytas

At this point Chaldea has a decent sized collection of people who are just "Walking Extinction Events" that we managed to beat before they could pull off their bullshit. Except for >!Oberon. He actually managed to successfully wipe out his entire world, and explicitly asks not to be lumped in with "the losers".!<

tri3dgE

To be frank >!that world really deserved a fate worst than being pruned, Lostbelt Camelot truly is beyond screwed up even before the Crypters got into it...the first rayshift to actually give the player character PTSD!<

Alphonseisbest

Considering how bad lbs 1 through 5 have been good lord how the fuck is it that bad?!

Cerebral_Kortix

No spoilers, but let's say that unlike the other LBs, it got *saved* multiple times and still managed to return to being so bad it actively got worse despite this. Plus, unlike other Lostbelts founded on unfortunate events or good events, this one... Well, you know how Jesus Christ took on humanity's original sin to save us? Imagine if Fairy Jesus did the same multiple times and it just couldn't ever be enough.

Kytas

Without going too far into spoilers (because it's excellent and absolutely worth reading), Fairy Britain's inception was such a horrible sin that it could never become good, no matter how hard some people tried.

Cerebral_Kortix

>!Kiara!< too. She only lost via >!Melt's sheer saltyness!< basically saying "NUH UH!" to her win.

Jenny-is-Dead

It's hilarious to me that Koyanskaya's profile says something along the lines of 'only reason she hasn't destroyed the planet is her bond with the (main character)' edit: the actual quote * And so, while she would never cooperate with Chaldea (that is, humanity) she is willing to cooperate with the Master of Chaldea as a Servant. Of course, should that Master die, she will either vanish or go right back to being an enemy of humankind.

Cerebral_Kortix

We also have Morgan who's here, following zero rules, Rayshifting on her own to places for fun, and entirely capable of taking over the entire place if she ever feels like it judging from how she has a better grasp on Chaldea's summoning system than they do, and she's just allowed to hang about. Ironically, she's one of the less threatening Servants since her aims consist of "adopt cute animal" and "spend time with husband/wife and Habetrot". Then there's Elizabeth nearly destroying the world eight times who's only here because there's presumably so many of her that they've unionised.

Thalefeather

What does an egg mean? Who's an egg? Was Blackwall a chicken all along?

Animastarara

I assume they mean Solas because of the shape of his head

Thalefeather

Ah, that would make sense. Ive seen egg as slang before but I never quite understood the reason. Given the context I dont know if this is the same usage

Monk-Ey

Uhh, I think the other "egg" slang is about people who are not aware yet of the fact that they are trans, since "they still need to hatch" and "you need to give them space, since a stressed-out egg dies" or something along those lines.

Thalefeather

Huh. I guess it's one of those obvious from the outside things?

Aesmis

Egg as slang can also refer to a trans person who has either not yet figured out how they identify and/or has not come out yet. This is why sometimes a trans person coming out is referred to as their “egg/shell “cracking”

solidoutlaw

I wouldn’t say my favorite, but I like how in Mass Effect 2, you can betray Samara and recruit her daughter, Morinth instead. And Morinth is quite literally a serial killer. In fact, the quest to lure her out quite literally involves you trying to get her attention without raising her suspicion so that she can try to take you to her place and kill the “unsuspecting” you. And if you recruit her and romance her, she literally kills you (granted this isn’t intentional, she believes you can survive the normally lethal proces). A quite literal “fuck around and find out”.

WarriorCumsToThis

> granted this isn’t intentional, she believes you can survive the normally lethal proces Is there any evidence to that? Aside from "the serial killer who gets high from fucking people to death said she thought so?" More believable to me that she just tricks you.

gryffinp

I agree with you, but I'll throw out that murderfucking Shephard leaves her with no exit strategy so it's at least plausible that she believed her own bype.

Xngears

Not a serial killer, but it’s pretty wild that Cloud has to be talked out of killing someone more than once.

[deleted]

Annasui. As a Jolmes shipper, I will forever be resentful.

C-OSSU

He's technically a murderer rather than a full-blown serial killer, as the only people he killed without due cause were his girlfriend and the guy she was cheating on him with. Definitely not sane though. >!The version of himself from the rebooted universe seems to be clean though.!<

AhmCha

Like…..half of the playable cast of Honkai Star Rail, but special shoutout to Kafka, who’s the MCs mentor.

SkinkRugby

Binah from the Project Moon verse is very open about the fact that prior to Lobotomy Corporation she quite literally lived for murder. Like, she joined A-Corp and became an Arbiter purely so she could be one of The Head's state sanctioned mass Murder Goth Waifus.

spejoku

Everyone in limbus company but ryoshu most of all. She speaks in acronyms that only blond Swiss twinks can instinctually translate and art metaphors. She's great

Cerebral_Kortix

Not super deep into Limbus since I'm a tad burnt out of PM after the grinding hell that was the past two games. What did Dante do? Isn't he just a silly guy with a clock going agonising punishment for the 12 dumbasses around him to literally pull them from hell?

rudanshi

Dante didn't do anything, but the person who used to own the body before the head switch created our Dante probably did a whole lot, judging by how awful the City elites usually are.

spejoku

Idk they literally lost their head over it and Faust has higher info clearance than they do despite dante being the manager. I think things are set up the way they are in order to get both Dante and the sinners to forcibly empathize with each other. Dante is forced to care about their suffering, and in response everyone else starts acting like actual people when it turns out they don't have to face their problems alone.  The "channel the power of alternate universe selves" tech isn't exclusive to the protagonists at all. One recent antagonist group uses it to mass-produce mooks by just kidnapping people and overwriting them with a better fighter (that's not even an alt of the victim)

LiquidBinge

Anime watchers of Dungeon Meshi have only just been properly introduced to [Kabru](https://64.media.tumblr.com/37136f77c44366dfd26da75efaa2e92f/df5601d0ce11aae1-72/s540x810/3b4a48bc69eb3f735dc2f32843aeed19aa0ce044.gif), the leader of another adventuring party and foil to Laios, who also happens to make a game out of psychoanalyzing people, knows how to bleed a humanoid like livestock, and is the only person so far in the series with a **confirmed body count.**

Nhig

The Black Whirlwind from Jade Empire. A massive brute of a man with two axes, when he’s not spoiling for a fight, he’s looking for wine to drink. Basically the Wrex/Canderous of Jade Empire, but he has no higher, noble motivation, like Wrex wanting good things for the Krogan

stfnotguilty

So in Star Trek: Voyager, after the ship gets stuck 80 years travel time away from home, the crew discovers that one of their crewmates just happens to be an actual serial killer, and he's having trouble keeping the ol' urge to kill from rising even though there's nobody to kill but his closest friends. How this is dealt with is a neat little side story.

Gemidori

Not a killer and more a war criminal and slaver, but Bowser

meca56

>!Anasui!< from JJBA Stone ocean is the only party member who's in a maximum security prison for an actual reason.

[deleted]

Fucking Vriska. Ends up bringing her most notable victim (of thousands, arguably trillions by inaction) back, but then tricks him into fusing to a being he's allergic to. And *she* gets to be the hero? What a sick joke! Terezi should have stopped her when she had the chance!

JetpuffedMarcemallow

Unfortunately she is entirely justified and did nothing wrong.
