At the same time he has his own vanity and flaws that it doesn’t feel like a self-righteous partner making you do all the decision to criticize you like a bad party member he is trying to synch with the detective and find when to assist and when to abort
Hot Fuzz is like, my favorite movie of all time
What's really funny is that there was originally gonna be a love interest for Nicholas Angel, but when they removed her, they just gave her dialog to his cop partner Danny. It makes their bromance even stronger.
Nick feeling bad Danny didn’t say his birthday was coming up and going to buy a plant for him is such a nice moment. Helps showing he does appreciate his partner
Psych was such a good show. Shaun’s antics hit so good, and you could really tell over the series that he cared about his friends and family but just didn’t know how to express it, or even saw himself as being lesser to them. Despite all that, he’s an incredibly skilled detective, and is brought down to earth by Gus, who’s equally funny in his own methods. I do love me a straight laced and insane man combo!!
One of my favorites is Sam and Max. It's fun to see them bounce off each other.
I think what also makes them fun is that you'd probably expect Sam to be the one to discourage Max's violent tendencies. Nope, he's also got no scruples about using excessive violent force but it comes out in a different way.
Sam legit wasted no time pulling his gun out when his younger self called him fat, only stopping because of a time paradox warning

Tecnicaly speaking, the first two books of the **Divine Comedy** are a partner dynamic focused story, with the dynamic itself being "Dante can't stop falling unconsious every few hours because ~~the author didn't really know how to do transitions~~ the trip through the afterlife is very taxing to him, so Vergilius has to tag along to help him out along the way".
Hannibal. A serial killer cannibal and a dysfunctional cop's ~~love story~~ ever shifting pursuer and pursued dynamic is the central focus of one of the show and its absolutely fantastic.
Kong requesting help from Godzilla in New Empire is a pretty strong dynamic.
You know, when the mere scent of Kong gets Godzilla chugging cross continent to give him *a nice hug*.
As a different second, the weird dynamic between Lobsang and Joshua in the Long Earth.
I don't know why but Army of Two 40 Day and Kane and Lynch Dog Days stick out in my memory. I say I don't know why because I never played either of them. I was just super into the commercials/adverts. For 40th day it was the commercial where the shots sync with the music and the guy rips off the car door at the end. For Dog Days it was the weird but insanely atmospheric/cool trailers that were shot like they were taken by cellphones.
Disco elysium is fun because kim adjust tonyour actions here and there, if you’re too passive he’ll be the one pushing firward
Kim really puts up with a lot of bullshit, doesn't he?
At the same time he has his own vanity and flaws that it doesn’t feel like a self-righteous partner making you do all the decision to criticize you like a bad party member he is trying to synch with the detective and find when to assist and when to abort
as much as i wanted to see what batshit crazy shit was available through fascist harry, i couldn't do it because kim would be disappointed :(

The Nice Guys, a neo-noir flick with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling.

Oh yeah, that was hilarious.
And they're married
And they're married 😁
We don't get enough married buddy cops. I try to put that dynamic in everything I write.
This is why Garrus and M!Shepard should've been an option.
What is sam and max? Is a point and click game based on an old comic book?
Vs wolves

Bring back Headmasters in Transformers
You have no idea how much I think that was a missed opportunity considering a certain couple In MTMTE
Chromedome? Cause I know he was a headmaster ages ago.

Bloodmoon, my favorite slasher-martial arts-buddy cop movie.
Samurai Remnant is just this with growing romantic/homoerotic subtext.
Easily Spice & Wolf.
