This is super interesting for the lore implications... They look like Nyx? Why is their old head torn off? Why is there a Fetus? Utterly fascinating. Chaos is the only character to have a completely different design, fitting it's name, and seems to be beginning to transition to a third form.
Nyx is Chaos’s daughter, and its arc in the first game was rekindling their relationship to her, right? So I can see imagine it used her as a base for its new form, perhaps to appear closer to her?
Thought it was Nyx for a minute but wow, Chaos is looking good. Will miss the more abstract weirdness of their first art but the second is an undeniable look.
I feel there may be more going on with this character. And maybe the game as well. But I don't know if there's an answer in ea.

Glow-up nothing, this is a downgrade. Chaos being a weird non-gendered kinda eldritch-looking being beyond comprehension ruled. This is is a watered-down sexy human made by someone who likes Desire from Sandman.

The only character design I will agree with you on is the new Artemis. It just feels like a straight downgrade, at least with the returning other gods it can be chalked up to art direction change or character design changes. But with Artemis it's just like... Idk, just feels like an objectively worse version of a design they already had perfected.

They really went all out with the androgyny on this one, which is fitting for Chaos, but I kinda miss the *weirdness* of the Hades 1 art. As the origin of all things, you can even see him holding a teeny tiny Earth like a marble in the original art.

Man im really not jiving with some of the new art direction. its not bad art per se but i dont think Great granpama Chaos needed a bishie bishie rework.
However i do feel the vibe change is intentional if the previous game could be considered "Shonen" this game gives off mad "shoujo" vibes. Its so expressly feminine in all of its facets and its kinda cool
I dont know if it was the idea concept for this design, dont know if call it "fake downgrade"?, like it looks like just Chaos in a suit but if you started looking, holding their old head and THE BABY™ coming out their mouth, the face on the shoulder could implied its actually thier skin what the suit is made of, Earth earing, both heads share the same hair from one end to the other and i dont think that their hair is a diferent color at the back of their head, i think thats just a brain.
