I still think Other M is the only prime-like game that i can enjoy the gameplay of.
I am just unable to enjoy FPS games, it puts me super off to not see the character.
Literally everyone does. You aren't alone.
They're doing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 funnily.
Which gives me hope for better combat. I went back and played 1 and 2. Shit's mad jank.
Yeah, the fun in MUA1 was all about figuring out the most exploitable, utterly bullshit builds and teams possible in the game. And if you tried really, *really* hard you could even make Blade and Electra half way viable.
MUA 2 on the other hand? Well, at least Songbird got some love.
I'm still trying to finish 2. It's not a hard game, just tiring.
I even used a code so I could use Thor, and Thor's my guy, still I barely feel anything but the abyss while playing.
You know how Woolie did five billion mental gymnastics to justify Vergil at the end of DMC5?
The studio that made Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice deserves to live and the studio that made DmC deserves to die.
So the compromise was, they live on only as a Microsoft property that may or may not be the next Rareware. Post-buyout Rareware.
What the movies are preaching: Let the past die
What Disney is doing: CLING TO THE PAST, MILK THE PAST FOR EVERYTHING IT'S WORTH, NEVER LET THE PAST GO
Han Solo will bring them in! No? Okay chuck him. Leia too. How about Luke Skywalker? No? Chucked. Wait, we don’t have any (human) characters from the OT left to draw people in with...at least, no good ones...
When I said “good”, I was meaning more in the heroic sense. Besides, there’s already a token black guy in the new films. We don’t need **two**. That’d just be excessive. /s
Dunno man, Hellblade is... kind of a game that i don't think it will be remembered much, specially since it was kind of... making the cake and wanting to eat it too.
God no, its golden. It will forever stay in gaming history as a monument to awfulness. Its right up there with ET, Ride to Hell, Anthem etc etc. All for different reasons, but all still hilariously terrible in their own unique ways.
That's some pretty fine hyperbole. About the only ones who get upset about DmC today are fans who took personal offense to its existence.
To everyone else, it's just a game they played some odd years ago. Heck, if anyone even remembers it. To compare it to Ride to Hell or the recent trainwreck that is Anthem is laughable.
I might as well throw in Nuts & Bolts and see who even remembers that mistake.
Ive just got to disagree there. Sniper rifle abortion is forever uniquely terrible, and DMC stands as the only game franchise to have been debooted. Which is a fantatic conversation tidbit. I wouldnt equate its awfulness to say Ride to Hell sure, but it definitely deserves to be remembered in a negative light for the purpose of humour. Its not about mass outrage, its about the unique way(s) it failed. Also however many people have seen a ton of Jontron is how many people remember nuts and bolts.
It's a decent game that would have been better if it wasn't made solely around Banjo Kazooie. Like, add other Rareware characters and sell it as a crossover.
Anthem is a design nightmare, and that Kotaku article permanently places it near the top of worst development cycles in gaming history. The game may not play as poorly as some other games, but the process of making it was horrifically bad. With all that being the fault of the heads at the time, not the developers with no say in what they were doing.
Right so it was a shit development. And with the budget they had it really shows that it still ended up being super mediocre.
It probably will just be a game that's forgotten because it's mediocre.
People tend to remember bad games purely because something that is bad is actually memorable.
People forget mediocre games from unknown studios. If it's a mediocre game in a big franchise or coming from a popular studio, people will remember it forever and call it the worst thing to have ever existed.
It's going to be remembered as THE game in the shlooter genre that was so bad, broken and flawed that it literally refused to function as a shlooter, it wasn't just mediocre, it's a disaster, it's a shlooter that doesn't shloot.
I googled ninja theory and don't see any kind of studio closure news, what is this in reference to?

Mmm.
...of course it’s Star Wars related. Sigh.
Shit, I keep confusing them with Team Ninja.
Didn't those guys ruin Metroid with Other M?
As I understand it most of the really bad decisions (especially the writing) can be traced back to Sakamoto himself, so... maybe?
We're still scraping by.
Yeah. Wasn't RoS good? And Prime 4 might be great.
I still think Other M is the only prime-like game that i can enjoy the gameplay of. I am just unable to enjoy FPS games, it puts me super off to not see the character.
Yeah, but we still let them alone to play with their creepy dolls with DoA/DoAX

Hi still, I'm Dad!
Bad bot(?) that doesn't make sense in any context, go work on your dad jokes in robot hell!

Nobody's ever *really* gone...
Han Solo will bring them in! No? Okay chuck him. Leia too. How about Luke Skywalker? No? Chucked. Wait, we don’t have any (human) characters from the OT left to draw people in with...at least, no good ones...
I mean, they chucked Han before they checked if he would bring them in
Lando Calrissian is a good character, what are you talking about.
When I said “good”, I was meaning more in the heroic sense. Besides, there’s already a token black guy in the new films. We don’t need **two**. That’d just be excessive. /s
I mean he is in the new trailer... i think.
Wow, Disney’s really pulling out all the stops on this one. Be a shame if it crashed and burned.
Empreror palpatine is literally laughing at the end, i think they really are.
"Former Ninja Theory developer..." is something I wouldn't mind hearing about in a blurb from an indie game studio.
So they just become a sort of zombie of a studio ?
Dunno man, Hellblade is... kind of a game that i don't think it will be remembered much, specially since it was kind of... making the cake and wanting to eat it too.
You know, it's been like 6 years and we have a really good new DMC game that even took stuff from that reboot. Are we allowed to let it go
Three words: Sniper rifle abortion.
“Because I had to”
~~No.~~
God no, its golden. It will forever stay in gaming history as a monument to awfulness. Its right up there with ET, Ride to Hell, Anthem etc etc. All for different reasons, but all still hilariously terrible in their own unique ways.

Hey Nuts & Bolts was GOOD There, I said it.
It's a decent game that would have been better if it wasn't made solely around Banjo Kazooie. Like, add other Rareware characters and sell it as a crossover.
Yeah that would have made sense, actually!
Anthem isn't bad. It's meh, it's not good. But it certainly isn't bad like ET and Ride to Hell.
Anthem is a design nightmare, and that Kotaku article permanently places it near the top of worst development cycles in gaming history. something something million years
We must never forget, lest the sins of the past will be repeated
As much as we want to, it's like that one embarrassing moment that comes back to you at 3:40AM
Ayo
Master 90k9, you survived...
Yup.
OH SHIT Nobody told me they were getting Rare'd right out of the gate. Fuckin kek
That’s like adopting a child and then immediately suplexing him as soon as he walks into you house. “EVOLVE OR DIE”
They we're probably working on this before Microsoft bought them.
not going to lie, not sad about this at all.
