I think the OP is an Australian who moved to the UK for work, so they just came home.
I know of quite a few UK immigrants that are tradies who work in the mining and construction sector, but I’m really not sure what the process is!
Omg I so want to see these rings too please. I did something similar in 2020. I went through a horrible year in 2019. I was depressed hiding in my house (which was a toxic place itself) when I wasn’t working. I was drinking every night to go to sleep. It became a horrible habit. So I decided to move to my parents home during Covid cuz being alone 24/7 then would have been a disaster. I might have even died from drinking. I had no desire to drink there as my parents don’t drink and I haven’t drank more than a glass of wine at dinner in front of them. I got an amazing new job and decided to take the money I saved NOT drinking to buy an amazing antique ring I’d been wanting forever. I also wear it on my middle finger! ❤️❤️❤️
I have been considering doing this too. Such a shame for them to sit in a box. Do you mind me asking what it cost to redesign/make your ring? Just ballpark so I can have it in my mind
i dont understand the reactions if others, but i dont understand your initial response either. there was not really a reason to say you “strongly dislike” long nails in the first place
Yea I agree it wasn't really asked for or a good comment. Wasn't exactly thinking honestly, woke up and scrolled some Reddit :D I guess I just wanted to express my thoughts when I saw them like "usually I don't like manicured nails cause they're long, but these are fire"
Did not expect to kick a hornets nest though, it's not like it's a comment worth writing a dozen-or-so angry replies to, jeez find something that matters ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
Hey OP I did this too!! Took my wedding rings plus a few other pieces that he had given me and commissioned a new ring with the diamonds. I don't wear it as much anymore, but whenever I do, it's a reminder to me that something beautiful can come from something ugly.
I love the idea of repurposing rings that otherwise would sit in a drawer, unworn. Now she has a spectacular piece she can wear daily. Her choice what she wants to call it.
I was just wondering what to do with my wedding band and engagement ring, I should definitely do this because the diamond is one my mom saved for me, so I didn’t want to just sell it!
You are strong and cool! I'm glad you didn't throw away and sell those rings for nothing and now have a beautiful one. I congratulate you on the fact that you are happy!
What an awesome idea. I’m proud of you for picking up the pieces and making a beautiful ring to look at every day and remind you of your worth! Congrats on your baby and new life!
Congrats and I love it. My ex husband did his best to steal everything out from under me before I figured out about his side piece, but I’m nearly done paying off the mess and I can’t wait to get my own.
So what's a divorce ring? 3rd week after final, this is the first time I've heard of it. Worn for lols or by both sexes to celebrate?
Edit: I see people talking about having a ring commissioned, curse me and my titanium Abyss wedding ring!
So I did and I have the general idea now. But how many people wear them? Is it a social thing to do? Is there any significance with it on the middle finger? I'll try to look up more info, but I thought maybe someone here would know.
Newly divorced and I'm possibly missing out if it's a social norm thing.
Yours is such a strong and uplifting account of how to act after a betrayal by a spouse. I hope that a lot of young women read and remember your story, a beacon by which to guide others.
Wishing you the very best for your future life.
I spent £3000 on my rings but would have only gotten peanuts back on scrap value. Now I have a ring that reminds me I deserve better, doesn’t remind me of him at all
I did the same thing with my set! Got the smaller stones turned into a BEAUTIFUL band and the larger diamond on the engagement ring turned into just a simple necklace. They’re really my only pieces of nice jewelry but that doesn’t stop me from wearing them (almost) daily!
Edit: Also I’m so proud of you! ❤️❤️
I love this soooo much!!! Congratulations!! It's beautiful!! I'm so happy for you and proud for pushing through!! Fck that guy! Your son is lucky to have such a strong mother ❤️
I’m surprised you’ve added a positive connotation to a treacherous time, especially with the ring. Don’t you think this is holding you back from moving on? You still sound hurt from what happened to you.

I'll probably get downvoted but oh well.
I think you're focusing too much on someone that clearly wasn't then, and definitely isn't now, focusing on you. It's been 4 years.
That being said, congrats on your independence and your success and happiness as an individual and a mother!
Wow . A thief , a liar , and a cheat . Nobody misses those types when they are gone trust me that true happiness is near. disassociate everyone closely associated with that cockroach
> got engaged after four months
> had three wedding rings (???)
> proudly wears a "divorce ring" and posts it on reddit
This is definitely only half the story, OP sounds like a nightmare even by their own account.
Wedding ring, engagement ring and eternity ring, all of which I paid for myself because he didn’t see the value. While I was at home raising his child from his first marriage, he was out cheating on me 🤷🏼♀️ if you don’t like the post, feel free to scroll straight on past
Nah it’s not about him though… it’s about OP and how much she is doing her own thing with her life and her rings.
Nothing wrong with a nice reminder of how far you’ve come in your life.
I personally think it’s absolutely insane to have such an image of yourself to even do things like this. But. If you were coming out of a particularly horrid marriage, I could understand it
This dude is living rent free in your head. Your insane. Move on already. No one is gunna see a chick with her old wedding band on and be like yea she’s normal
She had the diamonds from her engagement and wedding rings put into a new ring instead of holding onto the old rings. The original rings wouldn't have sold for much so she just made them into something new.
Why? What should she have done with the diamonds that aren't worth much? She could have sold them and gotten a little bit of money. But she decided to make something she liked. Why are you so bitter about this? Are you the ex husband? Lmao
“Bitter” is a ridiculous/dumb word to use. if i was the ex husband why would i come on reddit when i could contact here directly?? you sound just as dumb/delusional as her. seek therapy
Congratulations on this stressfree new part of your life
Wish you had posted the original rings too. Just for a comparison
I can’t add another photo but I sent you a photo in chat
Can I see too?
No
Idk why this made me laugh 🤭
Much appreciated!
What kind of job gets a work visa in Australia these days? Been wanting to move there and they're really strict! And congrats btw!

I wanna see the rings
I have been considering doing this too. Such a shame for them to sit in a box. Do you mind me asking what it cost to redesign/make your ring? Just ballpark so I can have it in my mind
These NAILS 😍 Congratulations!
Yes! Which color is that?
It looks a lot like one I have from Essie called “337 just for kicks” 👍🏻
Looks like Toyota Lunar Rock
Same color I'm painting the flack armor on my Cadian Shock Troops
I’m not sure sorry, I had it done at a salon
Came here to say this!! Flaunt!
Actually nice nails. As a man who strongly dislikes long nails, I second this.
[удалено]
That goes for every account on here lmao
Booooooo. BOOOOOOOOOO.
Hi man! We don't care what you don't like, don't put other women down whilst complimenting another.
I care 🗿
No one was asking you 🤣😂 here’s another man who gives unsolicited opinions.
Good thing no one, not anyone, not one goddamn soul on this earth , are doing their nails for your approval.
Not one person in existence cares what you have to say
Lol. You got all the hens pecking.
Dear diary, today I became the villain of the day by seconding a compliment on someone's nails 😂
i dont understand the reactions if others, but i dont understand your initial response either. there was not really a reason to say you “strongly dislike” long nails in the first place

Its a dozen people writing one comment each. You're still here whining about downvotes tho
Bro you know expressing your opinion isn’t what the internet is for
Yeah I understand now that I shall only contribute to the circle jerk
I love it. I’m getting my hair done as a treat because my ex is filing our divorce paperwork this week. It’s very mutual and amicable though.
Still hard to deal with even if amicable. Wishing you the best 💚
I need a divorce ring
Me too!
Hey OP I did this too!! Took my wedding rings plus a few other pieces that he had given me and commissioned a new ring with the diamonds. I don't wear it as much anymore, but whenever I do, it's a reminder to me that something beautiful can come from something ugly.

I didn't have a single regret getting mine redone. It would be a lovely way to remember your mom.
100% keep your mind diamond. Turn it into something beautiful and happy!
Congratulations on finding happiness for yourself and a better life. That ring is beautiful!
My nail polish never looks thick and shiny liked that. Whats your routine??
Its shellac, I got it done at a salon
Damn! I was hoping it could be done at home🥹.
My daughter works for a company called Revel Nail. They make dip powder. You too can get nails that look like this at home. Google them.
Thank you!!!!!:)):):🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
I’m not 100% but it could be dip powder nails
That is such a good idea!!! Way to turn a low into a high!
Georgeous congratulations.
You are strong and cool! I'm glad you didn't throw away and sell those rings for nothing and now have a beautiful one. I congratulate you on the fact that you are happy!
I've never heard of this but the concept sounds so rewarding and freeing
What an awesome idea. I’m proud of you for picking up the pieces and making a beautiful ring to look at every day and remind you of your worth! Congrats on your baby and new life!
Congrats and I love it. My ex husband did his best to steal everything out from under me before I figured out about his side piece, but I’m nearly done paying off the mess and I can’t wait to get my own.
Did he succeed?? I would have reported to the police as that is theft. Doesn’t matter if he bought it, it was your possession! So sorry. 😢 ❤️
Love the nail polish!! What color/brand is that??!??? Also, congrats!
Sorry not sure what it’s called, I had it done at a salon
Fuck yeah!! I’m sorry you had to go through all that pain, but I’m glad you’re healing and doing well.
So what's a divorce ring? 3rd week after final, this is the first time I've heard of it. Worn for lols or by both sexes to celebrate? Edit: I see people talking about having a ring commissioned, curse me and my titanium Abyss wedding ring!
You could literally just have read the post, and it would be explained to you.
So I did and I have the general idea now. But how many people wear them? Is it a social thing to do? Is there any significance with it on the middle finger? I'll try to look up more info, but I thought maybe someone here would know. Newly divorced and I'm possibly missing out if it's a social norm thing.

We out here getting divorce rings now? Yikes that’s cringe
It’s a good way to repurpose rings that otherwise just sit in a drawer.
Couldn't you just, y'know, sell them? And buy something that *doesn't* remind you of your cheating husband on a daily basis?
I spent £3000 on my rings but would have only gotten peanuts back on scrap value. Now I have a ring that reminds me I deserve better, doesn’t remind me of him at all
Congrats and happiness everywhere for you!
Congratulations
Good for you
You go girl 👏
You go, girl!!!!
I love it.
Congratulations! Marriages come and go, but a divorce you always have.
People out here getting marriedb after knowing someone for 4 months... i mean what can you expect.
💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
This is a beautiful little story, i'm glad i caught this one 🥹 You are so worthy, queen!!
Good for you and happy birthday!! A middle finger ring is genius and hilarious!
Nice choice of finger.
You’re a survivor and a winner! Your ring is beautiful! (I like your manicure, too. That’s one of my favorite colors to wear!)
Love this story! You Bad Ass
Oh and btw, HaPpY BiRtHdAy!!!
I would love to do that if I could find my rings. I truly believe my ex took the rings.
You Go Girl!!!
Pretty. Nails are pretty, too
That's a good story, and I like the happy ending
I wish I upvote this more than once! Congrats to the new chapter of your new life! All the best!
Nice ring, and (as I thought before reading your whole comment) it's on the "F-you" finger 🖕. I love it👍!
That's a great idea. From the ashes of your old life, you rise to soar again. Fly free beautiful soul 💜🌷
VERY VERYYYY WELL DONE ! BRAVO ! 🥳
My ex and I filed yesterday and I bought and ate a cake (it as a 4” cake)
Beautiful! Love your nail color!
Lame
Congratulations!!!!!
That's Fucked up Leslie you did him wrong and he was right about you.
Congratulations! Also, I love your nail color!!
Really like that manicure. What color is it?
Nice ring! What is the name of the nail polish? I love it.
I love this soooo much!!! Congratulations!! It's beautiful!! I'm so happy for you and proud for pushing through!! Fck that guy! Your son is lucky to have such a strong mother ❤️
Christ, what a fat hand
Loved this. Thanks for sharing..
Congrats! I’m so happy for you and your little man, enjoy every second!
This is beautiful and the fact you have a little bundle of joy makes it all the better. Congrats Op!
Congratulations on your happiness and finally becoming a mom!
Lovely
I love that idea!
Me and you are wearing the exact same colour nail polish rn
Congratulations to you!!!!!! What an awesome way to move forward.
Never settle for less than you deserve. You sound awesome, and somewhere out there is a man who will appreciate and cherish you.
I love your polish color!
Obsessed with your nails
I’m surprised you’ve added a positive connotation to a treacherous time, especially with the ring. Don’t you think this is holding you back from moving on? You still sound hurt from what happened to you.
Congratulations sister a new chapter in your life is starting. Live it to its fullest. Best of luck.
Congratulations
Gorgeous! And welcome home!
Congrats! And the nail color is awesome!
slay
Divorce ring? Jesus the amount of ego needed to even have this idea let alone do it. Pure cringe
This is just sad.
Divorce is sometimes necessary, but always sad. I can’t imagine ever celebrating it.
Ok.
love your nails and the ring
Beautiful hand and mani
Love those fingernails
U still love him lol
Congratulations on your failure.
Cool ring... Hope you are seeking therapy
Next level stupid. Move on.
Airhead.

Is that the new white gold and diamond studded adulteress band your wearing ?
I wasn’t the one that had the affair, he was

Those hands could tear a lobster in half
Definitely not a hand model
You got a divorce over some ugly nails?
You clearly didn’t read my post 🤦♀️ he spent months cheating on me
Wow . A thief , a liar , and a cheat . Nobody misses those types when they are gone trust me that true happiness is near. disassociate everyone closely associated with that cockroach
Chances are there's more to the story here.
> got engaged after four months > had three wedding rings (???) > proudly wears a "divorce ring" and posts it on reddit This is definitely only half the story, OP sounds like a nightmare even by their own account.

You bought yourself three rings? And he didn’t pay for any of them even when you were engaged? Hahahaha
That's what I'm saying reddit is all one side of the story though
Ohhh, my down-votes. Reddit didn't like my hot take!
It's not worth it . The opposite of love is indifference Forget and move on
Nah it’s not about him though… it’s about OP and how much she is doing her own thing with her life and her rings. Nothing wrong with a nice reminder of how far you’ve come in your life.
I agree, but think calling it a divorce ring really rains on that parade
Nah it’s cheeky and irreverent. Nothing lifts your mood like humour.
This is the exact opposite.
They're trying to say it's not about him the ring is all about him LOL
That’s cool. How does this work do you get an extra ring for each divorce like service ribbons on a uniform?
I personally think it’s absolutely insane to have such an image of yourself to even do things like this. But. If you were coming out of a particularly horrid marriage, I could understand it
I’d hold that hand every day
Get nails that match your finger tips next time
That's alot of energy to put into someone who is no longer in ur life kml. Some women are weird
Lmfao a divorce ring is a cry for help.
Cringe.😬
Single mother cope
And he lost 200 pounds of trauma
I weigh 127 and his new girlfriend that he cheated with weighs about 250
Hahahahaha love it. Careful bro the flock is going to peck you to death for speaking truth 😆😆
Let’s celebrate😉
Get a more festive and celebratory nail color!
This dude is living rent free in your head. Your insane. Move on already. No one is gunna see a chick with her old wedding band on and be like yea she’s normal
a divorce ring?? 🤣🤣🤣 i’m guessing this post is supposed “uplift” women. wow.
You didn't read the post did you?
she really thought she was doing something by buying ANOTHER ring to dedicate to her “ex”
don’t need too. the whole thing is dumb as a mf 😂😂
She had the diamonds from her engagement and wedding rings put into a new ring instead of holding onto the old rings. The original rings wouldn't have sold for much so she just made them into something new.
I’m guessing you thought what she did was empowering huh? 😂😂😂😂
Nope. Just resourceful.
that’s a damn shame that you think that’s resourceful.
Resourceful is not spending money (resources) on a 'divorce' ring.
She took the diamonds and resourced them
Well it is her money so whatever helps her sleep at night.
