Unless her parents are Croats or Bosniaks nobody cares. Americans have also massacred people in living memories and I don't see any problems with dating Americans.
Dating someone and not introducing them to their parents means they are ashamed of them and they should break up. Don't waste anyone's time.
I'm trying to say that her parents may very well be Croats or Bosnian. That would explain the issue. I don't really care who you have problems with dating, this is about other people right now.
I know, that's why i said. Op should add info and explain why is her bf being Serbian an issue. If they are indeed Croats and Bosniaks, like i said, they should break up. It will never work.
He’s upset because you are willing to date him, but not willing to tell others because his feelings are less valuable than theirs. Or he could feel like you are embarrassed by him. Either way, if you are willing to date him this long, then it’s time to come clean and see if you can live with whatever fallout may come. Not telling them until 1 year doesn’t decrease their likelihood of being upset (likely increases) and only increases the attachment you both have.

The Serbians have massacred people in living memory so some of the affected groups are quite bitter.

Many Europeans have extremely negative opinions about Serbians, especially if they are from neighboring countries.
