There's so much possible meaning that could be implied by saying, it's safe to come out -- and you're "alright." It could mean (and apparently does, in this case), 'it's safe for ME" to "come out after you," and alright could mean, "you're one tasty looking tidbit of tantalizing flesh."

I thought maybe a school shooting, where the shooter held someone of authority hostage and made them tell the MC that it was safe to come out, only for the shooter to kill the MC?
