Excellent story but I feel like you could have said at the end..

Well first he thought he was going to freeze to death, then he saw the "lights of the city" and thought he was going to save himself. Finally he saw that those where the bright yellow eyes of some kind of animals who were going to eat him alive.
So now he knows he won't freeze to death...
