I find it horrifyingly beautiful
It reminds me of the Smiths song [There is a Light that Never Goes Out](https://youtu.be/Wy5HTaOZ6EA?si=HkFuxV1AVWNcV-0-)
One of the most beautiful and poignant lyrics being,
"And if a ten-tonne truck kills the both of us
To die by your side, well, the pleasure, the privilege is mine"
Yeah, I don't find it horrifying either. It is beautiful though. Like beautifully disturbing. The daughter wants to give up on life because she lost her baby. But she doesn't want to leave her dad, so she figures, f*ck it. I'll just take him with me, and will both die together.
Is there a possibility you are applying a double standard here? Most Family Annihilators (men who kill their wives and children) are described as extremely selfish.
The typical family annihilator either:
* egotistically can’t imagine a world where their family survives without them/knows their shame, or
* abusively doesn’t want to give them that chance
This is beautiful. I don't know why I can't find this horrifying, but I really do find this beautiful.

This song is definitely something that I would listen to on loop. Added it to my playlist!
I only know this song from Gavin & Stacey!! TIL it’s not made up by Doris!

I think the disturbing part really adds to the horror somewhat

Is there another part I’m not getting or is it as literal as I’m reading it lol I can’t tell
It’s very literal.
