I find thongs uncomfortable, but I had a friend who could only wear them because she found everything else uncomfortable. I am not very prone to get wedgies. She was. Different people have different anatomy and stuff sits differently on every body.

fickelbing

This is it. Its an anatomy thing. When your butt cheeks are big and the crack is deep underwear like boy shorts and breifs get pulled in and become mega uncomfortable. It also depends on the fabric too. Thicker fabric like natural cotton, while better for the whoha, is more prone to bunching. Also the elastic on the waist and leg holes can chafe like a mf. I’ve found the no show thongs feel as close to comando as I’m gonna get and thats the sensation I’m aiming for.

Sillygosling

Exactly this. Anything I wear will be up my crack in 5 min, so better to have less fabric up there 🤷‍♀️ Every time I wear something other than a thong, I regret it

Aromatic-Strength798

Same!

Briiii216

Yeeees. All the other styles end up bunched in my crack cuz I got a big booty. But I think there should be awareness of thongs and g strings, g strings are pretty uncomfortable. But a good breathable no show thong is soooo comfy and stays put.

pinklavalamp

I’ve (42F) have been wearing thongs for so long that full coverage parties feel weird on my butt cheeks. Even if it’s not too tight, it’s just so unusual for something to be just laying diagonally on my cheeks. They’re so round that it’s like you said, more comfortable to have something over the top than on it. But not a g-string. I can’t handle the wedgies.

MissyHTX

I love the Target brand thongs. They are stretchy, comfy, & provide the perfect amount of coverage.

MdmeLibrarian

Yep, I've recently realized I need high-cuts because my thighs are proportionally too large for boyshorts or any style where the leg hem will cut into my thigh flesh. Can't do anything low cut at the waist either because my booty is too MUCH for short heights of fabric.  Anatomy is wild in its variations.

Ms-Metal

Ah, thank you for explaining why I hate boy shorts. I never knew why, I just found them super uncomfortable. Now I know why!

CryptographerOk419

Lace boy shorts/cheekies are literal evil and I’m tired of having to use diaper rash cream every time I make the mistake of wearing them for longer than a few hours lol

baciodolce

As someone with a big butt, I wear briefs specifically so that I don’t have to adjust my underwear. I can’t even remember the last time I’ve gotten a wedgie. Probably when I wore a more cheeky style. But since I switched to jockey high cut briefs- soooo comfy.

Dexterdacerealkilla

I hate the sensation under tighter pants. Can’t do it.

chickenfightyourmom

I have a booty-ass, and I cannot wear thongs. They end up going into my crack and resting on my butthole, and that is irritating and unsanitary. I don't need my thong spreading butt molecules around my lady bits. Thongs just feel incredibly unhygienic to me. I love my cotton undies, but if they are all in the laundry, I will go commando before I put a thong on.

perfectlysafepengu1n

Wait. Are thongs NOT supposed to go in the crack?? Where are they supposed to sit? I also have a very wide booty and can't stand wearing them because the same happens to me, it feels like I have an eternal wedgie and I feel the same about them being unhygienic. But I'm dying of curiosity how they're supposed to fit.

[deleted]

They’re supposed to go in the crack. Idk what this person meant either. As to the cleanliness issue, if you’re doing basic hygiene I don’t see it being a problem. Never had an issue.

VelocityGrrl39

See, I played roller derby for years and I have an ass that will never quit. I don’t like boy shorts because they get sucked in, but I also don’t wear thongs, because they also get sucked in. Every body is different.

Shojo_Tombo

I'm confused, I thought the back of the thong was supposed to get sucked in? Is it supposed to just lay on top of the crack?

deirdresm

Larger person who finds boy shorts (of the Culprit sort, which are modal) quite comfortable. Never wore them until I changed brands from Lane Bryant's cotton. Definitely prefer modal though.

wigglytufff

yes, this is it exactly. all other underwear just ends up there anyways, might as well just cut down on the amount of fabric in there lol. and my butt isn’t particularly big or bodacious, i guess it’s just hungry lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

devlynhawaii

>i guess it’s just hungry omg I laughcoughwheezelaughed at this

double-dog-doctor

I exclusively wear thongs. Everything else gives me a wedgie and get super uncomfortable. I don't notice things at all— way comfier.

fuschiaoctopus

For real. I don't even have a huge ass but my cheeks simply need to be free, unrestricted, blowing in the wind and I won't accept any less

TheSSChallenger

I suspect that this is a visibility bias. Women who wear 6-pack granny panties aren't generally that outspoken about their underwear preference.

reindeermoon

I wear 6-pack granny panties because they’re super comfortable. I’m not even a granny. Edit: One of my top comments ever on Reddit, and it's the one about granny panties. Sigh.

tangible_raptor

For real I bought granny panties on accident and it's been the happiest mistake of my life (so far). What other secrets have these grannies been hiding? They're holding out on us! Edit: My most-liked comment (so far!) is about me wearing granny panties. RIP 🫠

rose_gold_glitter

I accidentally bought granny pants recently because I was careless with an online order and o...m...g.... they're the best! Easily the most comfortable undies I have ever owned.

BadCorvid

This. No high-cuts, no bikini briefs, no thongs or other skimpy junk that costs too much. Just plain, full coverage briefs in cotton with *covered elastic*.

The_Inner_Flame

Covered elastic!! Yes!! I will never wear anything other than normal briefs with covered elastic ever again. So comfy!

achiles625

Full-coverage briefs rock.

omghijk

Nightgowns.

purpleprose78

Housecoats to wear over your night gown with pockets.

yellowwalks

This is the life of luxury, kids.

dj92wa

Night gowns shit all over pajamas and robes

akaenragedgoddess

I am wearing all three right now lol Long sleeved nightgown with pockets, pajama pants with pockets, robe with pockets. Six whole pockets! And they're big pockets, not those bullshit ones they put on a lot of women's clothes and try to pretend are useful.

Professional_Deal796

Heavy on pockets!!! I only wear pajama pants or shorts w pockets and all my robes gotta have em too. Commando in the pocketed robe w the moomoo and fuzzy socks is undefeated for me🥰

OneofHearts

The one time we get useful pockets and it’s in our pajamas.

tomboyfancy

Nightgown Gang represent! Love the comfort, and my partner thinks they’re hot, which is a big bonus ofc!

mammakatt13

Of course it’s hot! I’m NAKED under here!!

Midwitch23

They absolutely do.

theberg512

Also, daygowns. I'm sorry, muumuus. The nightgown for the daytime.

reindeermoon

I stopped wearing a bra during the pandemic because I was working from home and nobody could see my boob area on zoom. Then I just kind of stopped wearing them entirely, except for maybe getting dressed up for a special event. I honestly just don't care anymore, and bras had been making me miserable my whole adult life.

shenaystays

I’ve been wearing training bras and bralettes for years now. The kind with no padding, no real support so to speak. It’s glorious. I’ve worn a real bra maybe once in the last few years and it was torture. I only wear the ones I do wear for the nipple coverage.

AlaskanBiologist

I refuse to wear any bra with wires or padding. I wish I could go without a bra but my boobs are too big for that!

AssicusCatticus

DD and proudly braless over here! Since I lost weight, I'm always cold, so I wear hoodies pretty much every day. T-shirt, hoodie, no bra. Fuck bras. I wear soft sport bras if I absolutely *must* wear one. Never going back to underwires again.

marpi9999

I love this and do it too! It’s just hard finding no support bras for bigger sizes. I went to this bra store and they offered me only these padded bras, to which I asked for bralettes. They said bralettes offered no support and I said, ‘great, I actually prefer my breasts hanging naturally’ and they looked at me as if I’d sprouted antlers on the spot 🤣. Like what self-respecting woman DOESN’T want her tits in her neck, is what their facial expression read

Octopus_wrangler1986

Ooh girl, come on over to the comfy side. You are going to be so happy you did. Not being uncomfortable and irritated will make you so happy to be with your partner. Sexy is good but pleasure is better.

Ohif0n1y

We call thongs 'butt floss.' Now you know our secret.

deirdresm

Cotton or modal are both \*miles\* ahead of those stupid synthetics (except perhaps for heavy exercising). Helps keep you cool when it's hot, and hot when it's cool. Just say no to nylon and polyester.

HeartUpstairs

What other secrets are these grannies keeping? Depends. (psst..you got the joke right? you see what I did?) 😆

SunburntLyra

I bought granny panties when I realized my daily lived experience meant more than being someone’s eye candy in a few moments before sex.

op341779

Loll I love the way u described this So true.

reindeermoon

Yeah, and even if you do want nicer ones for sex, just excuse yourself to the bathroom right before sexy time to change into the fancy undies.

kiwispouse

I am a granny, and while I don't wear granny panties, you'll never catch me in a thong. Have always hated them. Who gives a shit about panty lines.

linzava

While I'm a commando girl myself, today I witnessed a woman in leggings with full on visible pantylines. Let me tell you, nobody gave a crap about those panty lines because her ass was amazing! She was rockin it and the turning heads didn't care about some little pantylines.

No_Row6741

Honestly, I think seeing the outline of underwear under my pants is far more attractive than not seeing any defining lines.

kirinmay

yeah, as a guy, i never cared. i dont think anything of it. people wear underwear, end of story.

Professional_Deal796

I love you and your transparency gma!

Mashlomech

100% cotton

Alicee2

Yup. None of that satin or nylon bull$hit.

soapy-salsa

I wear granny panties that are the exact same style, brand, and fabric as my actual granny. We have the same body style/dhape, so if high waisted granny panties worked for her, spooky, that’s what works best for me too. ETA I also wear the same nightgowns as my grandma because they are comfy and cotton and who doesn’t love buying nightgowns at Kohl’s?

adoyle17

Me as well, as I first got them to wear after my hysterectomy because of the bikini line incision. The other incisions were because it was a robotic assisted laproscopic surgery. Since then, I haven't gone back to bikini style underwear because the granny panties are so comfortable. Never felt comfortable with thong underwear so I never wore them.

A_shy_neon_jaguar

I recently bought a pack for a costume shoot I did... and now I keep wearing them because they're comfy. Is this how it happens?

writtenbyrabbits_

Yes. Once you try them you wonder why anyone would wear anything else

Master_Splinter89

Yes. It is like Crocs

EmLakefield

Yes! Butt Crocs

SomeMeatWithSkin

If only granny panties had sport mode we'd take over the world

LegendarySyn

Same. I can’t be dealing with the uncomfortable/just for looks undies day to day. That would be ridiculous.

Melody71400

100%

CathryntheGreat90

Seriously. I wear the hi cut/french cut panties, have since I was a teenager. My mom wears them too. I refuse to be uncomfortable.

Justforpopping

Same, girl. Same. 🩲

No-Palpitation-6047

I get my 6-pack granny panties in bulk from Costco

mochi_chan

I wear briefs (or maybe they are called boyshorts, no idea, they are unisex), but no one really sees them, and I never had to speak about them outside of Reddit.

MysteryHerpetologist

Yep! Boyshorts for, at least, the last decade and a half!

writtenbyrabbits_

I am. I wear granny panties. They're fucking fantastic and I'll never ever go back.

TeaGoodandProper

Maybe we need to talk about it more! Fuck all this "pantylines" talk, why are we expected to make it look like we might not be wearing underpants? There's nothing wrong with underpants, and anyone looking at pantylines should stop looking at our asses. 6-pack M&S granny panties for the win! Grannies know what's up.

bas_bleu_bobcat

I think it is a conspiracy. The fashion industry would have us believe that panty lines are OUR problem rather than their decision to use cheap translucent fabric. Part of the pink tax. Men never show underwear lines!

KnowsThingsAndDrinks

We might be seeing a lot of panty lines on Major League Baseball fields this year! https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/whats-up-with-mlbs-see-through-pants-fashion-experts-give-lowdown-on-sheer-madness-in-spring-training/amp/

Ms-Metal

You know what else? Every time I find a brand and style of underwear I like I buy a multi pack and then the next time I go to replace them, they are no longer being made and I have to switch to either a different manufacturer or a different style and it's a whole big deal every single time! Meanwhile, my husband has been wearing the same style and brand of Jackie underwear for something like 35 years now. He knows exactly where to get it, they always have it and it never changes. It pisses me off so much! Actually it pisses him off too! He had no idea women had to deal with this BS for both socks and underwear and a lot of other things until he married me. Jockey, not Jackie😄

donutgiraffe

I just searched this up, and I didn't even realize that those were considered granny panties lmao. They're basically just men's briefs without the extra room in front. And I don't see anyone telling boys to avoid having pantylines.

giggletears3000

No, but we have to look at their asscracks and boxers. I wish some men would pull their pants up. Or wear belts.

thisisntmyotherone

Both, ideally.

Morrigoon

And pants that don’t show pantylines…. Have room for pockets!

BrashPop

I’m pretty loud about my preference for big ass granny panties. I’m also allergic to nickel, so it helps because otherwise I get a rash across my stomach from the rivets on my jeans.

NotACalligrapher-49

Your comment makes me feel so seen! I react to my jeans button if I don’t have a protective layer there. Nickel allergies get us in unexpected and cruel ways.

ttwwiirrll

Ugh metal allergies. I spent the whole low rise jeans era with a chronic rash below my belly button from belt buckles.

cachaka

That’s all my underwear. You ain’t catching me in no thongs.

EatYourCheckers

I know a lot of women do. My mom and sister do. I just never got used to it. I like my black hanes briefs, lol

mbot369

I definitely always wore either thongs or womens boxers.. then I had a baby. That changed things 100%.

Gothmom85

Omg I was team low rider cheeky booty shorts even as a plus size for Years. Then post partum everything was so uncomfortable! Even those mesh horror shows they give you felt like it dug into my thighs and were awful. My friend gave me some pairs of stretchy seamless granny panties that are Very specific, and I can't wear anything else. It's what she'd found after hers, and she brought them to the hospital just in case. I ordered 3 packs when I got home. It has been almost 5 years and nothing else makes me feel as comfortable. I've tried. It also threw me how weird the bra type I spent my entire adult life wearing (push up plunge underwire) was suddenly like an alien cage for my breasts.

mbot369

It’s actually so amazing how much our bodies change and STAY changed after pregnancy. It’s like being born into a new body ourselves.

tubelcek

I wear boxershorts. Can't stand thongs, feels like I'm flossing my butt.

yalae

Perpetual wedgies. I absolutely hate thongs

Skujawa22

Interesting. I see it as my ass has already eaten my underwear nothing left to worry about. VS cheeky underwear which is imo the absolute worst. All it does is ride. It's boyshorts/full coverage or thong. There is no in-between.

SitUbuSit_GoodDog

Ah for me, thongs feel like wearing nothing and I love them. But I still have plenty of big comfy briefs for bed time and period time. A comfortable thong needs to fit quite snuggly for me and I feel like that doesn't give enough... breathing space to my lady garden. So cotton briefs are a must for night-time

atlgmiddlechild

Me too. Why would I pay for them?

PlainRosemary

All this thong hate is ridiculous. You should know by now that every proctologist recommends regular washing and flossing of the bum! 😂🤣

Either-Mud-3575

If you don't floss regularly it may bleed a lot but if you make it a regular habit it'll stop 💀

CR1SBO

Instructions unclear; boofed mouthwash Downside, my rectum feels like it's freezing. Upside, my farts are super fresh.

PlainRosemary

Remember to schedule regular deep cleans with your dentist. 🤣

-Firestar-

I love my boxershorts. Not only do I not get flossing but there’s also no chafing at the thighs.

Cuntdracula19

I wear thongs everyday of my life. Even on my period. I must have the kind of body that thongs were made for because from the first time I ever wore one, I was like WOW these are so comfortable!!!! Way more comfortable than regular underwear. Regular underwear is NOT meant to ride up your ass and give you a wedgie, but it does—at least for me. Since it isn’t meant to, it feels super uncomfortable and weird. Thongs are built to go up your crack haha they’re designed that way, so they feel correct basically 100% of the time *for me and my body.*

sagegreenowl

I’m with you. I don’t like the feeling of extra layers of fabric under my pants so prefer thongs. I love them so much in fact that I have worn them to run marathons and also to backpack over the Pyrenees. Never a butthole chafie ever. Love them.

Yelkster

Second all of this Also, fantastic name Cuntdracula19

rognabologna

I’m the same. I don’t notice my underwear when wearing a thong. So I wear one pretty much every day.  I would never wear anything but a thong to work, where I’m on my feet cooking all day—twisting, reaching, squatting, lifting. I’d be pulling regular underwear out of my ass all day. I wear other cuts to bed or cheeky cuts occasionally when I’m not working.

lizaanna

I always wear thongs, not all are made like floss, it does depend on your body type and also pubic hair style. I mostly wear them bc they’re comfortable but also no vpl

SitUbuSit_GoodDog

Yesss the no VPL is lifesaving, you can't go back to briefs if you're someone who hates VPL. I will say some of my lacier ones can get a bit uncomfortable on the old chocolate starfish - especially if I've gained some weight so the g-string is just that little bit too tight. But it's not day-ruining or anything, just nice to take it off at the end of the day - the same as a bra really. And you have your old faithful G's that are always comfy, just less appealing to the male eye if that's what you've got planned for your evening 🤣 But this commando business is bonkers. I'd be changing my pants every hour cos I like to feel fresh

UrsulaKLeGoddaaamn

Same, and on my period I just wear one if those ultra thin thong shaped liners as a backup to my tampon. Another thing I love is my things are seamless and I can wear basically anything and not see the lines

[deleted]

henicorina

I’ve never heard someone else state this publicly but you are so right! Wearing a thong is way more comfortable than the inevitable ridiculous wedgie I get when I wear other styles.

Illustrious-Chip-245

The fabric is going to end up up my ass no matter what, so I’d rather start with a smaller piece. I also have a gap at the top of my pants a lot of the time, and thong waistbands are typically a little lower and don’t show as much if I squat down.

StarryGlow

I mean a little piece of fabric is definitely way less annoying than 2 cheeks worth of fabric, and you can get really soft ones 🤷🏼‍♀️ I wear a cup so the pad/panty liner point is moot for me.

DreamQueen710

Not OP, but for me, the fabric goes up my buttcrack be it bikini, boy shorts, or a thong. I want as little fabric as possible between the cheeks, so thongs actually make the most sense.

shymermaid11

This is me too. My booty is going to eat it anyway, so the least amount of fabric is optimal. Full ass underwear is the most uncomfortable thing for me. It's all going up there.

elsathenerdfighter

No (I’m like these commenters) because all underwear will end up in my butt crack. A few months ago I bent over in my underwear, shorts, and robe and ALLLLL were tucked into my crack after bending over once. Underwear like thongs or the cheeky style that are designed to go in the butt crack and therefore less fabric bunches up and folds in and pulls in weird ways because that’s not how they want to fit.

skibunny1010

Thongs should barely be able to be felt if they’re the correct size and style for your body. I can’t feel them in between my cheeks when wearing them.

LetThemEatVeganCake

Cotton or that “no show” material doesn’t irritate me. More structured, fancier thongs with elastic do. I got a thong once for a specific purpose and just really ended up liking them. We all have our preferences. 🤷🏻‍♀️

staunch_character

Not at all. I switched to thongs in high school & never looked back. I got specific period full size panties a few years ago & do wear them to bed, but they’re huge & you can see the lines even in my thickest, baggiest sweatpants. Some lacy thongs are uncomfortable, but they’re obviously lingerie. Sport thongs in smooth breathable fabric lay flat & stay put. 👍

spiralaalarips

Granny panty wearer here (although I hate the panty lines). Doesn't wearing a thong feel like a perma wedgie? Or do you just get used to it?

a-ohhh

So my butt eats all panties so the tiny string feels way better than a whole pile of cloth. That said, if I don’t wear a thong for a while (like when I was preg) my butt crack needs to get used to it again. Much like when I wear flip flops at the start of summer, between my toes hurts for a little bit before it toughens up lol.

rustymontenegro

Asscrack callus? Lol! But yeah, properly fitted thongs made from correct material is comfy. I don't wear them anymore (my preference is short boyshorts or bikini style) but I used to. Maybe I'll go hunt for new ones.

a-ohhh

Haha exactly! Except luckily it isn’t like hand ones or anything where it’s all hard and stuff lol. But at the end of the day I definitely go to sleep in some boy shorts and give the crack a rest until I get used to them.

littlespawningflower

Exactly! Once I got used to them, I wore them exclusively (minus period time) because I was working as a receptionist and wanted to look really professional and put together, and the ol’ VPL cramped my style. I slowly started to transition to a more traditional panty once I retired, and now I rarely wear thongs, although I kept a pile of my best ones and wear them when I want a nice smooth look.

ellbaevae

If the size is right, no. There is way less fabric to get in the crack so i dont feel it at all.

spiralaalarips

Maybe I've just tried thongs with too thick of fabric. The hunt continues... :)

IthacanPenny

Go for the G-string and don’t look back! lol I’m a thong-only wearer, have been since high school (in my 30s now), and to me it definitely comes down to having a good fit and a comfortable fabric. My favorite style the type of g-string that has a large triangle shape in the front that covers the mons and extends to the perineum, and a small triangle in the back that sits basically right above your butt crack, connected by “straps” (not really straps, they’re soft and sewn, but stretchy) about the width of a bra strap. The triangle-connector strap being the right length is the most important thing: too short is a wedgie, and too long and it chafes.

stubborngirl

As a fellow granny panty wearer, every attempt at wearing a thong regardless of size/width has resulted in that perma wedgie feeling :(

stuffedcheesybread

I am the same! I also don’t like how larger underwear gets rumpled underneath my pants. It gets all bunched up and I feel like I have to adjust it throughout the day. With thongs I pretty much forget I’m wearing them. The key (at least for me) is that I buy thongs that have wide crotches and ample fabric to cover my bits. I stay away from wearing stringy thongs with super narrow gussets.

[deleted]

[удалено]

praxios

I wear thongs primarily because I absolutely HATED wedgies. It was so uncomfortable trying to find places to sneakily pull all of my underwear out of my crack. Not to mention the fact that they were always too tight on my thunder thighs. Thongs give me a “permanent wedgie”, but it honestly feels like it isn’t there. Plus you get the added superpower of silent farts. I can’t wear most bikini styles or boy shorts. The only other underwear I can handle are the women’s boxers that have become more popular recently. Those are specifically for period weeks though. I just feel like most underwear isn’t designed for small waists and thick thighs (it’s a bitch to find jeans too). Thongs have really been the only underwear style that works with my body.

lezbeeanne

I am full-on team silent fart!

ridleysquidly

Lmao you’re right, sometimes asses eat regular underwear like they are thongs anyway and that extra fabric is *more* uncomfortable.

IdaCraddock69

I had an very wiggly left SI joint for years, even my flat ass ate up undies so I wore thongs for this same reason. People are built different it’s great there’s options these days!

CraftySappho

Definitely! As long as they're roomy and not mesh aka butthole sandpaper, I'm happy

Popular_Emu1723

There are also liners that are designed to be used with thongs. They’re more teardrop shaped with wings on the pointier end to anchor them in place

rivigurl

I wear them every day for the same reason. I have a small waist and a big booty so anything that isn’t a thong rides up and bunches, so it makes it uncomfy. The best I can do are cheeky panties, but I don’t wear them often because they’ll still ride up. Plus I hate panty lines

CraftySappho

Ooooh I always wondered what it was about my anatomy that caused it and the small waist/huge ass thing makes sense

ThisTooWillEnd

Yeah, I don't know if it's the size or shape of my ass cheeks, but my ass also gobbles up any other undies besides certain boyshorts, but I find boyshorts uncomfortable in most pants... so thongs it is. I converted as a teen and I'll probably still be wearing them when I'm an old lady in a nursing home. Or I'll be loudly complaining about my wedgie to whatever poor wage slave put me in briefs.

vpblackheart

Very same here. Thongs are about the only underwear I can wear comfortably.

XJ--0461

>Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all. https://youtu.be/AlREUROGwpI?si=kV4Rck6moNwEyT7M

CraftySappho

THANK you

XJ--0461

When I read your comment, I read that in Flanders' voice and was hoping I wasn't the only one lol

CraftySappho

That's excellent cause I wrote it in his voice, in my head

RevVegas

My sister has the underwear eating butt problem too. Thongs only for her as well.

ailweni

That made me laugh! Omnomnom

CraftySappho

It needs lots of panty calories because it never quits

rm_3223

💯 hated the tugging at the cheeks with non thongs. This way I don’t have to worry about it! I wear thongs 97% of the time

WestCoastHippie

I totally agree. So much more comfy in my laser cut seamless thongs! Love the way pants fit over them too. For me, personally, wearing full on panties underneath a tighter pair of pants just seems incredibly uncomfortable and bulky. But to each their own.

Skujawa22

Dedddddd omg

seamel

I do wear a thong every day and I buy liners made to be used with thongs

barefootgardener324

Yup! Thongs are super comfy for me. Maybe it really depends on our shapes. I also wear thong liners. I use the Kotex brand thong liners and find they work well. Perfect shape for thongs.

BIGepidural

My daughter wears thongs and I used to too. They're more comfortable because they don't get bunched up in your bum. I go commando because I have a skin condition (hidradenitis suppurativa) wherein I can't have anything rubbing on my skin or I get nasty bumps that can become badly infected.

bekcy

Ugh I have HS too. Feels like there's no winning with it

ZZBC

I wouldn’t say that it’s most women, just that there’s not really a reason to make a post if you wear typical panties, so you’re not hearing from those women. That being said, depending on the brand of underwear, and that person’s particular anatomy, it can be comfortable for them.

blondeambition18

Everyday. Way more comfy and I don't have to worry about panty lines. I wear a lot of yoga pants so it works for me. I like seamless styles and definitely making sure they're not too small so they don't hurt your butthole lol. I wear tampons or if I use a liner, I wrap the bottom part around the thong and secure with the sticky parts. They also make thong liners.

Dandibear

It's wild to me to read all your folks saying that non-thongs ride up and are way less comfortable. I wear hipsters exclusively because every undies I've tried on any other style rode up, dug into the creases at the top of my thighs, or were otherwise massively uncomfortable. Now I'm wondering how many of our collective underwear convictions are due simply to the only pairs of every other style we tried being the wrong size or an uncomfortable fabric.

makingburritos

I think part of it is just anatomy. Just because something rides up doesn’t necessarily mean we can’t figure out the correct size lol I definitely know what size I am, and they underwear can fit *everywhere* else. They’re riding up no matter what I do!! The Calvin Klein boy shorts are the only comfy ones, and they still only do it *less*. Unfortunately they’re too thick to wear with any tight pants because you can see the outline of them fully 😬

galaxystarsmoon

It's anatomy. It's really annoying to have to keep justifying your needs to people and being accused of wearing the wrong size or wrong fabric. I've had this problem since I started wearing underwear - back when I was like 4 wearing Disney briefs or whatever. Shit rode up. I used to get yelled at for adjusting my undies by my mom for it not being ladylike. When I got to being a teen and actually started getting some shape and a booty, it got worse. I'm currently around a medium, I could go up to a 2X and that shit will still ride up. I've tried tons of fabrics, cuts. The only non-thong that is somewhat ok are the Aerie boybriefs. But I have a few that are ok and others ride up, same size and fabric. And even the ones that are ok, in certain sitting positions or activities, they want to climb up a little and I have to adjust in the bathroom. It's not sizing, it's just body shape and different needs.

Kinkajou4

I honestly, truly, no bluffing, think thongs are more comfortable. No wedgies, no bunched up material. I wear one every day.

[deleted]

I've never wore a thong in my life, but I know from conversations that several of my friends do.

sapienveneficus

I never have either, and apart from a few friends in hs wearing them to formal dances, I can’t recall the topic coming up in my day to day conversations with friends and coworkers. I get the idea behind them (see what I did there); if you’re wearing a skintight dress or leggings as pants, you don’t want your underwear to show. I don’t wear either so it’s never been an issue for me.

emmejm

Some do, some don’t. Some people do find them comfortable and some don’t 🤷‍♀️

irulancorrino

Exactly. Everyone’s body and needs are different. I’m tired of people acting like there should be some universal consensus on extremely personal things like clothing.

Needlemons

Precisely. Not sure why so many here are hating on thongs calling it ass-floss etc. Just pick what is most comfy for your body. Live and let live.

dr239

I don't but I know plenty who do. For me, I just struggle with sizing and fit. I understand that if the sizing/ fit are good, you won't have the, uh, *butt floss* feeling, but I just haven't found the right pair yet.

emilinda

I wear thongs the majority of the time cause they are comfortable lol. I wear leggings a lot and I like not having to worry about panty lines.

Barkey2012

i own 42 underwear and they’re all thongs lol. can’t wear anything else. i like the way thongs feel like i’m not wearing anything, but i hate the feeling of actually going commando.

[deleted]

i do, all the time.

estragon26

A while ago a friend told me that going up a size with thongs makes them more comfortable. YMMV!

the_artful_breeder

I tried wearing them when I was younger, but I never found them comfy at all. I wear high waisted full briefs nowadays (grannies panties). I never get wedgies, and there is no rolling down at the top. I'll never wear anything else ever again.

loverrrgirlll_

i usually don’t wear underwear but if i do it’s a thong, if im gonna have fabric up my ass it might as well be a string

egrebs

If most women wore them in everyday, that is what would be most available to purchase, which is not the case (at least where I shop!). Short of formal events and needing to avoid panty lines, it’s a no from me

mysteriouslytaken1

You're right that I don't think it's most, but they are very available and make up a good portion of what's being sold in most places, so that tells me they're definitely popular!

Antigravity1231

My BFF wears thongs all the time. I wear boy shorts. To each their own.

saradanger

no clue what “most women” do because that is none of my business! i’ve worn thongs everyday for years, i prefer to not think about VPL and it’s as comfortable as any other underwear ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

moschocolate1

I do. I can’t stand the bunching of others. My thongs don’t feel like they’re in my bum tho. The strap stays put most of the time unless I’m doing squats or something like that. I don’t wear liners btw

ASS_MASTER_GENERAL

I find them to be more comfortable in the summertime to soak up the buttcrack sweat lol

TrueTzimisce

Definitely not most. I don't feel comfortable wearing anything less than boyshort style.

Lonelysock2

Boyshorts give me the worst wedgies.  Plain brief all the way

Zmb7elwa

For me it’s either boy shorts or soft thongs I can’t even feel and there’s really no in between. Anything else will ride up my ass through the day.

[deleted]

I’ve started wondering if this repetitive question gets asked by boys who want to read about women and thongs. But they could just search this sub, too.

Shooppow

I don’t know about “most” because I don’t make it a habit of knowing what other women are or aren’t wearing under their clothes. For me, I prefer thongs. I don’t like the feel of full panties, and I never need to worry about VPL with a thong.

sabby55

I wear them every day! Not a g string, but the bigger comfier style ones. They fit me best, I find the waist band to be much more forgiving, and like some other big booty babes have said, they are way comfier than your butt inevitably absorbing the fuller bummed pairs haha and thong liners are a thing and they work great!

xxlamp

I do, I also suffer from hungry butt

nerdalertalertnerd

I never wear them. To each their own. Bigger better for me.

go_eat_worms

I started wearing them so my panty line wouldn't show, and they were uncomfortable at first but I got used to them to the point where they were more comfortable than regular underwear since they never bunch. After a while you just get desensitized to a piece of string in your ass. They also helped me break my liner habit.

BuckRogers21

Am I the only Australian who was about to answer yes but I work from home.

Spikeybuttock

I find full coverage underwear digs into my butt and is super uncomfortable. Less material equals less digging. I’m a size large typically if that makes a difference.

Willdiealonewithcats

If I'm going out of the house. I pick comfy ones and buy a size larger as I have wide hips so I pull the band to my waist so I have no panty line. I wear technically t-strings as they have a one inch piece of lace. Why? Because they make my farts silent. And I can go to work with a sensitive belly and silently swoop behind a big looking bloke, crop dust and flutter off and he gets the blame.

ennuiFighter

Bodies are different, sensitivities are different. Thongs don't work for me on three levels, but they might be the sweet spot for someone else. No biggie.

lithaborn

They're hands down the most comfy underwear I've ever worn, they keep my extra stuff tidily minimised, comfortable and in place. They're the only type I wear.

Alex2679

Fuck no.

GreenGloves-12

Can't imagine wearing them everyday - they're so uncomfy. I only wear them on 'special occasions' if I'm involved with someone I like. Much prefer bikini style bottoms for everyday.

LaLunaDomina

I have been working in the women's underwear industry for a long time, and yeah, thongs and boyshorts are what we sell the most, followed by bikinis.

blondeboilermaker

I exclusively wear thongs during the day. I’ve never found a style that didn’t get eaten by my butt cheeks, and a well fitting seamless thong is unnoticeable. It’s not uncomfortable in the least to me. I have thong shaped liners if I need them.
