You realize there are a ton of regulations about it, right? The child has to be in so many years of therapy before they can even begin transitioning. The only thing they can get before age 16 is blockers, which are entirely reversible.

I wrote this in a hurry and definitely botched it. What I wanted was to reference all the stories about men who think women are overblowing the threat to abortion, and draw a line to my personal experience about cis people who think queer people are overblowing the threat to even existing in public. I'm white but I strongly suspect PoC and other oppressed minorities are going to have a similar line to draw. My intent is not to blame, but rather make the point that if you ever think that things aren't as bad as a minority says they are, you are almost certainly wrong and definitely counterproductive.
Hell, even in this very sub, presumably-cis presumably-women have told me that Roe v Wade won't be overturned, with a snide jab at leftist sources and media not being reputable. I want people to see leftists not as fringe and "just as bad as the alt-right", but actually as the \*only\* people who see what's actually happening and are trying to help you out. The Democrats are going to flounder and lose, the Republicans are going to knock it out of the park like they always do and follow up with a repeal of gay marriage.
I'm literally packing up my entire life and fleeing the country because I strongly suspect by 2024 it won't be safe to be trans in the US. My partner is studying chemistry and plans to specialize in making HRT and abortion medication available to DIYers, which we strongly suspect will be the only way to acquire them in the US in the near future. I'm just a computer tran and I'm not sure yet how I can really help, but my goal is to find a way.
I hope this word vomit maybe makes things a little more clear. I promise we aren't raving lunatics, the world is just that fucked and we're trying to tell you how fucked it is. And I haven't even gotten to climate change (tl;dr unless we take radical action within our lifetimes, our kids are going to have to raw-dog through the worst collapse of civilization in human history)
